Make your own game

Lap Legends was built by Flaming Game with the Cinevva game creator: describe the game you want in chat, watch it get built, and play it in your browser minutes later.

Remix Lap Legends opens the real game in the creator and forks its actual files, chat and design doc, so you start from the code rather than from a description.

Cinevva's analyzer read this game's design doc and its source, then wrote the brief below. "Make your own" hands it to the game creator as your opening message, so you start from a real spec rather than a one-line idea.

Create a responsive browser arcade racing game titled “Lap Legends.” Use a top-down 2D canvas view with a smoothly following camera centered on the player’s car. The world is a large dark green grass field with subtle scattered light speckles. In the middle, draw a broad horizontal oval race track: dark charcoal-gray asphalt ring with a green oval infield, a darker gray outer/inner edge, and a dashed white center line following the oval. At the bottom-center of the oval is a black-and-white checkered start/finish strip spanning the track, with yellow “START / FINISH” lettering beneath it. Keep the visual style clean, bold, neon-accented, and arcade-like, with simple rounded top-down cars rather than realistic 3D models.

The game opens on a full-screen dark translucent menu overlay with a radial blue-black background. Show the large white title “Lap Legends,” subtitle “Pick a car. Finish 3 laps. Your ability refreshes every time you cross the line.”, and three selectable car cards arranged in a row on desktop and stacked on narrow mobile screens. The default selected card is Bolt, outlined/highlighted yellow. Cards show a rounded color swatch and these exact options/descriptions: Bolt (red) — “Turbo Burst — instant speed for 2 seconds”; Anchor (blue) — “Grip Lock — sharper handling and no sliding”; Ghost (purple) — “Phase Drive — cut through grass without slowing”. Add a prominent yellow-orange “Start Race” button and controls text: “Keyboard: Arrow keys / WASD to drive, Space for ability. Mobile: use the arrows.”

When racing starts, hide the menu and show a glassy HUD at the top with panels labeled CAR, LAP, TIME, and BEST. Display the selected car name, lap counter “0 / 3,” elapsed time, and the best completed race time persisted locally. At bottom right show a yellow-orange ABILITY button and a hint describing the current ability; the button is disabled when unavailable and changes to “ACTIVE” while running. On mobile, show translucent arrow controls at bottom left: up above left/down/right. Show brief large centered messages such as “GO!”, “TURBO!”, “GRIP LOCK!”, “PHASE DRIVE!”, “Lap 1! Ability ready”, and “Ability spent.”

Implement vehicle movement with acceleration, friction, steering, reverse, grass slowdown, and collision/bounce against the inner and outer oval boundaries. Keyboard controls are Arrow keys or WASD: up/W accelerates forward, down/S reverses, left/A and right/D steer when moving. Mobile arrow buttons must act as held controls. The player starts at the bottom start line, facing upward, and must complete 3 laps. A lap counts only after the player has first passed the upper checkpoint (when player y is above about -250) and then drives downward across the start line within its width; crossing refreshes the ability. Finish the race on lap 3, show a “Race Complete” overlay stating the car, final time, and best time, and provide a “Race Again” button returning to car selection. Save a new faster best time in local storage.

Include two simple AI opponents that continuously follow the oval racing line at different lanes and speeds: a mint-green car named Mint and an orange car named Comet. They should visibly move around the track but do not need collision interaction with the player. Draw all cars from above as rounded vertical bodies with four black wheels, a colored body, a light trim/window panel, a small light nose accent, a horizontal highlight stripe, and a soft shadow. The player’s car should use the selected color: Bolt red with yellow trim, Anchor bright blue with pale trim, or Ghost purple with pale pink trim. When an ability is active, give the player car a bright glow.

Use these exact car handling/ability behaviors: Bolt has max speed 6.05, acceleration 0.18, turn rate 0.072, friction 0.982; Turbo Burst lasts 2 seconds, immediately adds forward velocity, and temporarily multiplies max speed by 1.55 and acceleration by 1.3. Anchor has max speed 5.35, acceleration 0.16, turn rate 0.092, friction 0.987; Grip Lock lasts 2.6 seconds, increases steering by 1.65 and uses strong friction so the car does not slide. Ghost has max speed 5.7, acceleration 0.17, turn rate 0.078, friction 0.984; Phase Drive lasts 3 seconds and permits full speed on grass instead of the normal grass speed limit/slowdown. Normally, off-track friction is 0.90 and off-track speed is limited to 48% of the car’s max speed. Abilities are single-use per lap and become ready again only when the start/finish line is crossed. Include the oval boundary correction that pushes the car back and dampens/reverses velocity if it enters the inner infield or leaves the outer edge. Scale the canvas responsively to the viewport, cap device pixel ratio at 2, and keep HUD/menu controls touch-friendly.
