Starshield was built by Davonya Joy with the Cinevva game creator: describe the game you want in chat, watch it get built, and play it in your browser minutes later.
Remix Starshield opens the real game in the creator and forks its actual files, chat and design doc, so you start from the code rather than from a description.
Cinevva's analyzer read this game's design doc and its source, then wrote the brief below. "Make your own" hands it to the game creator as your opening message, so you start from a real spec rather than a one-line idea.
Create a portrait-friendly, full-screen 2D arcade space shooter called “Starshield.” Use a canvas filling the viewport with touch-action disabled, and support mouse/touch pointer dragging: when the player presses and drags anywhere, smoothly move the ship toward the pointer, clamped horizontally within about 28px of the edges and vertically between 25% of the screen height and 48px from the bottom. The ship should remain near the lower portion of the screen and fire automatically; there is no manual fire button. Also support a keyboard/mouse-friendly equivalent if needed, but preserve the drag-anywhere mobile interaction. Visual style: a dark cosmic battlefield with a vertical gradient from deep navy/purple (#08052b) at the top to dark violet (#12083b) at the bottom, many small softly varying pale-blue stars drifting downward at different speeds, and subtle translucent horizontal grid lines across the playfield. Use a bright blue spaceship sprite with a cyan glow/shadow, centered on the player position. Give the game a polished neon arcade presentation with rounded translucent HUD pills, white bold system UI text, cyan/yellow glow effects, and pink destruction particles. Use space-shooter sprites for the player ship, blue laser bolts, red enemy bodies, and star power-ups; if external sprite assets are unavailable, recreate them as simple glowing vector/pixel-art silhouettes. Opening state: show the space background and a centered title overlay. Display large spaced white uppercase text “STARSHIELD,” beneath it the exact instruction “Dodge the heavy feelings. Collect bright stars. Your ship fires automatically.” and a large rounded launch button labeled “Touch to launch,” filled with a cyan-to-pale-yellow gradient and a soft cyan shadow. Keep a bottom-center hint reading “Drag anywhere to move · collect cyan power-ups.” The top HUD remains visible: at upper left a rounded dark translucent pill showing a star icon and score, initially “⭐ 0”; at upper right a similar pill showing “💙 3 ⚡ 1x” for lives and current weapon power. On launch, reset score to 0, lives to 3, power to 1x, clear all entities, place the ship at the horizontal center around 78% of screen height, and begin an endless run. Spawn red enemy objects from random horizontal positions just above the top edge, around 22–31px radius, falling downward at roughly 70–140px/s while gently drifting side to side. Each enemy should have a different overlaid dark expressive face representing a negative/heavy feeling, selected from faces resembling “>︵<”, “ಠ_ಠ”, “¬_¬”, and “T_T”; rotate them subtly as they move. They are hazards: if one overlaps the ship, remove it, subtract one life, flash/explode the ship with pink particles, briefly shake the screen, and give the player about 1.5 seconds of invulnerability with blinking ship visibility. Enemies that pass below the screen disappear. The ship continuously shoots upward. At power 1x, emit one narrow blue laser; at power 2x, emit two slightly spread lasers; at power 3x, emit three lasers with a wider spread. Shots travel quickly upward and vanish beyond the edges. A laser hit destroys an enemy, adds 10 points, and creates a pink burst particle effect. Automatic fire should be frequent, approximately every 0.44 seconds at base power and no slower than about 0.18 seconds at maximum power. Alongside enemies, randomly spawn falling collectibles from above. Normal bright/gold stars are collectible score items: on contact with the ship, add 25 score and create a yellow burst. Cyan/blue power-ups are rarer (about 22% of pickups): on contact, increase weapon power up to a maximum of 3x, set an approximately 8-second temporary power duration, and create a larger cyan burst. When the timer expires, return power to 1x. Draw pickups as glowing rotating 34px star sprites, with yellow glow for score stars and cyan glow for power-ups. Spawn cycles should produce an enemy every roughly 0.28–0.72 seconds, becoming modestly faster as score increases, and often also spawn a pickup. Use circular overlap collision checks between bullets/enemies, ship/enemies, and ship/pickups. Add lightweight particle bursts for impacts and collection, with particles moving outward, fading, and shrinking. Add a subtle camera shake on taking damage. Keep the playfield active and readable behind the HUD. Update the HUD live: the left pill shows the collected-star score, and the right pill shows remaining blue-heart lives and lightning weapon multiplier, e.g. “💙 2 ⚡ 3x.” If lives reach zero, stop the game and show a centered game-over overlay with heading “HEAVY FEELINGS,” text in the form “You collected [score] bright stars. Try again and keep moving.” and a rounded button labeled “Play again.” Pressing the button or tapping when game-over should reset and restart the run. The game should never require a level transition or win screen; the goal is to survive and achieve the highest score before all three lives are lost.
