Make your own game

Word Hunter was built by Alex Wu with the Cinevva game creator: describe the game you want in chat, watch it get built, and play it in your browser minutes later.

Remix Word Hunter opens the real game in the creator and forks its actual files, chat and design doc, so you start from the code rather than from a description.

Read the build brief for Word Hunter

Cinevva's analyzer read this game's design doc and its source, then wrote the brief below. "Make your own" hands it to the game creator as your opening message, so you start from a real spec rather than a one-line idea.

Create a responsive 2D browser word-training game titled “Word Hunter|單字獵人,” with a warm, friendly educational card interface. The page uses a cream/beige background, an off-white paper-like main panel with rounded corners, subtle border and shadow, dark charcoal text, navy/blue accents, coral-orange action accents, green success feedback, and a rounded playful sans-serif font. At the top, show a tilted blue rounded-square logo containing a white “W,” the title “Word Hunter|單字獵人,” the subtitle “Think fast. Hunt words. Build sentences.”, and a “玩法說明” button that opens an alert explaining the rules. The game is entirely UI/form based rather than an action scene.

Start screen: show a large two-column layout. On the left, display the Chinese hero headline “把三分鐘,變成單字力。” with the second line in orange, explanatory text saying the player gets a random topic and must type as many English words as possible under time pressure, with sentence bonuses and no duplicate scoring. Show four rule cards: “+1 分 / 每個正確單字,” “+2 分 / 用單字寫出句子,” “0 分 / 拼字錯誤,” and “3:00 / 每回合限時.” Include a prominent orange “開始狩獵 →” button with a darker pressed shadow. On the right, show a dashed-border information card labeled “本回合可能出現,” listing large blue topic names on separate lines: Medical, Business, Food &, Daily, followed by text explaining that a topic is randomly selected every game, 20 extra words are revealed at the end, and this is for individual English spelling and basic sentence practice.

When Start is clicked, randomly choose exactly one of four topics: Medical (醫療), Business (商務), Food & Beverage (餐飲), or Daily Life (日常). Each topic has a fixed list of related lowercase English vocabulary. Medical includes words such as doctor, nurse, patient, hospital, medicine, health, clinic, symptom, treatment, surgery, blood, heart, brain, fever, pain, care, checkup, emergency, disease, healthy, appointment, vitamin, bandage, wound, mask, virus, tablet, rest, cough, medical, exercise, body, energy, sleep, pressure, pulse, therapy, recovery, ambulance, pharmacy, dentist, xray, operation, cancer, allergy, broken, breathe, stomach, muscle, bone, skin, eye, ear, mouth, cold, flu, headache, patiently, hospitality. Business includes business, company, manager, meeting, market, sales, customer, client, office, project, team, money, price, profit, product, service, email, report, plan, goal, success, contract, deal, brand, budget, salary, career, leader, partner, schedule, idea, growth, strategy, finance, bank, offer, order, ship, design, quality, value, work, job, employee, director, start, launch, online, store, trade, buy, sell, cost, invoice, account, data, future, skill, businessman, deadline, feedback. Food & Beverage includes food, drink, water, coffee, tea, juice, bread, rice, noodle, soup, salad, meat, chicken, beef, fish, egg, cheese, milk, fruit, apple, banana, orange, vegetable, potato, tomato, sugar, salt, pepper, sweet, spicy, hot, cold, fresh, taste, menu, restaurant, kitchen, chef, waiter, order, plate, bowl, fork, knife, cup, breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, cake, cookie, ice, cream, sandwich, pizza, healthy, delicious, hungry, thirsty, recipe, cook, bake, serve, flavor. Daily Life includes family, friend, home, house, school, book, music, movie, phone, computer, morning, night, today, tomorrow, yesterday, week, month, year, time, weather, rain, sun, happy, sad, walk, run, read, write, listen, speak, learn, play, sleep, wake, travel, city, street, car, bus, train, room, door, table, chair, clothes, shoes, money, shopping, break, holiday, birthday, party, love, help, clean, wash, open, close, start, finish, easy, hard, important, remember.

Game screen: retain the same rounded paper panel. At the top show a blue pill reading “主題:<English topic> <Chinese topic>,” a level label initially “Level 1 · Word Hunter,” and three stat cards: orange-tinted remaining timer starting at “3:00,” current score “0,” and found count “0.” Run a real countdown of 180 seconds, updating once per second; at zero, end the round. Under the header show a blue gradient progress bar whose width is found-count divided by 50, capped at 100%. Use a two-column entry area. Left panel is titled “找到一個單字,” with an English word input (placeholder such as “例如:doctor”), an optional multiline “Sentence bonus(可選)” textarea (placeholder “I visited the doctor yesterday.”), an orange “提交單字” button, and guidance that the sentence must contain the word and have at least 3 words. Right panel is titled “本回合已獵到,” explains a word can score only once, and displays discovered words as green rounded chips; initially show “還沒有單字,開始輸入吧!” A blue-tinted tip box says to start with familiar words and then try harder ones. Show colored feedback beneath submission: blue informational, green success, or red error.

Submission behavior: trim and lowercase the word, retain only letters and hyphens, and reject blank input with a Chinese prompt to enter an English word. Reject duplicates with no score and a message to try another. A word scores only if it exactly matches the selected topic’s vocabulary list; otherwise show a spelling/topic error and award nothing. A valid new word gives +1. If a sentence is present, tokenize its lowercased text after replacing non-letters/non-spaces with spaces; if it has at least 3 tokens and includes the submitted word, award an additional +2 and report the sentence bonus. If a sentence fails, retain the +1 and say the sentence did not pass. Clear both fields after a valid submission and refocus the word field. Update found count, score, word chips, level and progress.

Implement level labels and unlock notifications based on found words: Level 1 at 0, Level 2 at 8, Level 3 at 16, Level 4 at 26, and Level 5 at 38. The progress bar still measures against 50 found words. When the found count reaches 8, 16, 26, or 38, update the tip with a Chinese level-unlocked message. Provide Enter-key submission from the word input and Ctrl/Cmd+Enter submission from the sentence textarea.

End screen: when the timer expires, stop the countdown and show a two-column result layout. On the left use a dark navy score card with “YOUR FINAL SCORE,” a very large final numeric score, “最高紀錄:<high score>” and “新紀錄!” when appropriate, plus buttons “再挑戰一次” and “回到首頁.” Persist the best score in localStorage so it survives reloads. On the right show a panel titled “<English topic>|<Chinese topic> 字彙補充,” explaining that the following 20 words can be memorized and attempted next time. Display up to 20 vocabulary words from the selected topic that were not found as pale-gold rounded chips. Include a blue tip card about seeking accuracy first and then making complete sentences. Again starts a fresh random-topic 3-minute round; Home returns to the start screen.

Make the layout responsive: desktop uses two columns, while narrow/mobile widths stack start, entry, and result panels into one column, hide the top how-to button, reduce paddings and type sizes, keep stat cards usable, and allow the discovered-word list to scroll. Keep all visible copy and feedback in Traditional Chinese as shown, with English vocabulary and headings where specified. Do not add characters, enemies, physics, 3D camera, sound, or mechanics beyond this timed vocabulary-and-sentence form game.
