Make your own game

Tiny Drama Town was built by Malcolm Jones with the Cinevva game creator: describe the game you want in chat, watch it get built, and play it in your browser minutes later.

Remix Tiny Drama Town opens the real game in the creator and forks its actual files, chat and design doc, so you start from the code rather than from a description.

Cinevva's analyzer read this game's design doc and its source, then wrote the brief below. "Make your own" hands it to the game creator as your opening message, so you start from a real spec rather than a one-line idea.

Recreate a single-player browser game titled “Tiny Drama Town,” a cozy top-down 2D life-sim/social-drama sandbox rendered on a full-screen pixelated HTML canvas. Use a soft pastel, cute chibi aesthetic: pale sky-blue outer background, mint-green town ground, tan horizontal paths, a muted peach vertical road, rounded pastel location buildings, tiny round-headed characters with simple pixel-like eyes, bangs/hair, blush, colored outfits, shadows, name labels, and floating heart/angry/dots emote icons. The camera follows the player around a large scrollable town world roughly 2200x1600, clamped to its edges. Include six clearly labeled rounded locations placed around town: pink “🏫 School,” yellow “☕ Cafe,” lavender “🏠 Apartments,” green “🌳 Park,” sandy “🏖️ Beach,” and pink “👗 Boutique.” Scatter simple stylized trees outside the buildings.

Before gameplay, show a centered character creator card over a pink-to-pale-blue gradient. The card is white/pale pink with a thick pink border, rounded corners, and a darker pink bottom shadow. Title it “Tiny Drama Town.” Show explanatory text: “Create a cute chibi character, then walk around, talk to NPCs, date, gossip, lie, steal, apologize, expose secrets, and watch the town generate drama on its own.” Provide selectable fields for Name (Sunny, Nova, Pixie, Ari, Mochi), Body (Short/small, Average/medium, Tall/tall), Skin color, Hair style (Bob + bangs, Ponytail, Twin braids, Tiny bun), Hair color, Outfit (School uniform, Casual, Goth, Cottagecore, Y2K, Pajamas, Formal), and Trait (Kind, Flirty, Chaotic, Clever, Shy), plus a pink “Start your story” button. Save the selected appearance and one outfit preset when starting. Initial player state is named Sunny, at approximately x=1080,y=790, with $40, no partners, and the selected trait grants an initial reputation adjustment: flirty raises flirty reputation, chaotic raises dangerous, and kind raises kind.

After starting, control the custom chibi player with WASD or arrow keys, or a mobile virtual joystick in the lower-left. The player walks freely through the town at roughly 190 speed; NPCs autonomously wander toward changing targets at roughly 45 speed. Automatically select the nearest NPC within about 92 pixels, draw a pink dashed selection ring around them, and show action buttons on the right/bottom. Include a responsive HUD: a white translucent panel with pink border/shadow at top-left showing player name, Day and hour, money, partners count out of 6, married status, and reputation values (flirty, popular, dangerous, untrustworthy) with emoji icons; a recent event log panel near the top-right on desktop (hidden on narrow mobile screens); the joystick and a hint reading “WASD / arrows or drag.”

Populate the town with exactly eight named autonomous NPCs: Mina (romantic, goal “become popular,” secret “secretly cheated on a test”), Jules (chaotic, goal “start a legendary rumor,” secret “stole cafe tips once”), Kiko (kind, goal “protect their friends,” secret “has a crush on two people”), Rae (ambitious, goal “get rich,” secret “is blackmailing someone”), Bex (jealous, goal “be everyone’s favorite,” secret “lied about an ex”), Theo (loyal, goal “find true love,” secret “plans to move away”), Luna (dramatic, goal “be famous,” secret “keeps a revenge list”), and Ash (clever, goal “expose every secret,” secret “has a hidden crush”). Give each a personality, goal, secret, likes/dislikes, job chosen from student/barista/stylist/lifeguard/artist/assistant, popularity, crush, partners, mood, makeover state, and relationship values toward the player: trust, love, fear, and grudge. NPCs should have short memories of interactions and display their names. Use simple custom chibi drawing with selectable player skin/hair/body/outfit; NPCs use varied pastel colors and simple hair/sprite variations. Show hearts above partners or blushing NPCs and angry icons above NPCs with high grudge.

When an NPC is selected and nearby, provide these action buttons with color coding: Talk (kind), Flirt (love), Ask date (love), Break up (danger), Gossip, Lie (danger), Steal (danger), Apologize (kind), Secret/Blackmail (danger), and Propose (love). Actions must have concrete consequences and log readable event messages. Talk opens a modal dialogue panel at the bottom/center with the NPC name and personality, a relationship-aware opening line, and buttons for Small talk, Compliment, Ask feelings, Ask secret, Confront rumor, and Leave/Close. Small talk raises trust and funny reputation and mentions the NPC’s likes/dislikes. Compliment changes love/trust depending on whether it seems sincere and raises flirty reputation. Ask feelings reports current trust, love, grudge and the NPC’s crush. Ask secret only reveals the NPC’s secret when trust is sufficiently high or fear is high; otherwise it causes grudge. Confront rumor uses the NPC’s recent memory and can reduce grudge and improve trust.

Implement the relationship/social consequences shown by the mechanics: flirting raises love and trust, with a flirty-trait bonus and possible jealousy rumor if already dating someone; asking for a date succeeds only when love + trust - grudge is above the threshold, otherwise the NPC rejects the player and gains grudge; allow up to six simultaneous partners and show the count; breaking up removes the partnership, decreases love, adds grudge, and raises untrustworthy reputation; gossip tells the selected NPC a rumor about another NPC, affects trust/grudge, popularity, and may log that the target heard it; lying has a chance to be caught based partly on untrustworthy reputation and then damages trust/grudge, otherwise temporarily improves trust; stealing gives the player a random $6–
0, with a chance to be caught that damages trust and increases fear, grudge, dangerous, and untrustworthy reputation; apologizing can reduce grudge and improve trust, especially for a kind player; Secret/Blackmail either exposes the NPC’s actual secret, damaging trust and increasing grudge while raising dangerous/popular, or blackmails them, increasing fear and dangerous/untrustworthy; proposing requires dating, no existing spouse, and love + trust - grudge above 150, otherwise it causes grudge. Use floating labels such as “+love,” “dating!,” “no,” “caught,” “gossip,” “sorry,” “secret!,” “blackmail,” “married,” and heart/angry/tear/dots emotes where appropriate. Run autonomous town drama over time. Every several seconds advance the in-game hour, rolling one event involving two NPCs: an NPC may develop or change a crush, start dating another NPC, break up with a current partner, spread a rumor and shift popularity at one of the locations, toggle a makeover and change their vibe color, change jobs, or move across town toward a place while pursuing their goal. Add each event to the visible event log, and make NPCs remember important rumors/dialogue. Relationship-aware dialogue should react to high grudge, fear, love, trust, the player dating multiple people, or high untrustworthy reputation. Start the log with “Welcome to town. Drama is already brewing.” and after creation log that the player moved into Tiny Drama Town. Pause player movement while a dialogue modal is open. Make the interface responsive: on narrow screens stack actions in a scrollable single column, hide the log, use a single-column dialogue choice layout, and retain the large joystick and touch-friendly buttons. Include a Close button for dialogue. The intended experience is an open-ended cozy social sandbox where walking, selecting nearby characters, and making morally varied relationship choices continuously changes reputation, money, secrets, memories, romance, and town drama.
