Inkphase Rumble was built by Rory with the Cinevva game creator: describe the game you want in chat, watch it get built, and play it in your browser minutes later.
Remix Inkphase Rumble opens the real game in the creator and forks its actual files, chat and design doc, so you start from the code rather than from a description.
Cinevva's analyzer read this game's design doc and its source, then wrote the brief below. "Make your own" hands it to the game creator as your opening message, so you start from a real spec rather than a one-line idea.
Create a playable 2D canvas boss-rush game titled “Inkphase Rumble,” presented like a theatrical vintage cartoon showdown. Use a fixed 960x540 logical arena that scales to the viewport, with a dark plum-to-black gradient background, scattered dim cream stars, a burgundy stage floor, gold rectangular floor panels, dark oval shadows, a thin cream frame, and subtle animated film grain. Draw everything as bold hand-drawn rubber-hose cartoon art with dark brown/black outlines, cream UI panels, Bangers-style display lettering, and Nunito-style bold labels. The gameplay arena has a horizontal ground at about y=438; the player is constrained to the left/middle of the stage (x approximately 45–685), while bosses occupy the right or background. Core loop: the player fights four sequential boss phases. Each phase begins with a roughly 2.35-second illustrated title card overlay showing PHASE 1–4, the boss name, a colored attack warning, the subtitle, “READY • DODGE • FIRE,” a portrait of the boss, and a red BEGIN! button-like label. During the phase, move left/right, jump, fire projectiles, dodge attacks, and reduce the boss health bar to zero. On phase transitions clear projectiles and hazards, add 1 HP up to the selected character’s maximum, and add 15% super meter. The initial character has 4 HP. The player receives 1.75 seconds of invulnerability after damage, with blinking visual feedback. Shots that hit bosses add score and super meter; taking damage also adds super meter. Use screen shake and particle bursts on impacts. Include short synthesized squeaky boss voice blips, speech-bubble taunts/captions near the boss, and phase-specific looping synthesized music that begins after the first user input; provide a Music On/Off toggle and keyboard M shortcut. Playable characters can be swapped at any time through four top-left buttons: Mugshot, Blue Mug, Gold Chalice, and Randy. Mugshot is a cream cup hero with red accents, a red straw, eyes, stick arms/legs, and fires yellow shots; Blue Mug is the blue-accent version with blue straw and pale-blue shots; Gold Chalice is a gold chalice with orange accents, a higher jump, and pale-gold shots; Randy is a green chameleon/jester with a pink crest, curled tail, and tongue-like mouth, whose normal shot is replaced by a phase-specific copied boss attack. Preserve the player’s current health proportion when swapping characters. Characters have distinct movement/jump tuning: Mugshot speed 278/jump 660, Blue Mug 292/640, Gold Chalice 305/735, Randy 286/670. Phase 1 boss: Charles the Crockroutch, a green segmented slithering caterpillar/cockroach-like creature with six alternating green body segments, a large head, tall cream eyes, and pointed snout. He moves near the ground on the right, bobbing and oscillating. Every about 0.68 seconds he spits a green aimed projectile toward the player. His phase subtitle is “Slithers Everywhere,” warning card text “A slithering scuffle!”, and boss max health is 75. Phase 2 boss: Lora the Moth, a hovering cartoon moth with a purple body, cream/yellow left wing, pink right wing, large cream eyes, and curled antennae. She hovers in the upper-right with flapping wings. Every about 0.78 seconds she sends a yellow concentric sound-ring projectile horizontally from the right edge across the screen. Her subtitle is “Screech Sound Rings,” warning card text “A shrieking flutter!”, and max health is 90. Phase 3 boss: Manny the Squid, a large purple squid in the background at the upper-right, with a rounded body, eyes, small mouth, and four visible tentacle-like limbs extending downward. He does not directly traverse the stage. Every about 1.28 seconds he creates a red warning slam marker on the floor, positioned near the player with some random offset. The marker visibly pulses and rises/telegraphs for about 0.95 seconds, then the background squid fist slams down; the player is hurt if too close and not jumping high enough. Subtitle: “Background Fist Slams”; warning card text: “A deep-sea wallop!”; max health 105. Phase 4 boss: Tod the Baby Penguin, a small black-and-white penguin with cream belly, orange beak and feet, bobbing/rotating near the ground on the right. Every about 1.48 seconds he launches a sliding snowman from the right toward the player. Snowmen are attackable, rolling/sliding white two-ball enemies with dark outlines, black top hat, eyes, and orange carrot nose; each has 3 HP. They damage the player on contact and can be destroyed for score. Subtitle: “Snowman Trouble”; warning card text “A chilly tumble!”; max health 120. Combat: standard player shots travel horizontally in the facing direction, have short cooldowns, and deal 1 damage. Bosses have tighter readable hit circles. Display a full-width boss health bar beneath the title/HUD, with a dark outlined container and red-to-gold fill that shrinks from left to right. Show score at top-right, HP as filled and empty cream hearts, and SUPER percentage. The super meter fills to 100%, then the player can activate a super that clears all hostile bullets/hazards and creates a bright radial flash, particles, and screen shake. Mugshot fires one giant straight yellow blast (22 damage); Blue Mug fires a seven-shot spread/barrage (5 damage each); Gold Chalice heals 1 HP and fires a large charm wave (16 damage); Randy uses a stronger copied attack based on the current boss: arcing green spit in Charles, traveling sound rings in Lora, a large friendly fist-slam marker targeting the boss in Manny, and arcing snowballs in Tod. Randy’s normal copied attacks should be: arcing green spit for Charles, one sound ring for Lora, a friendly fist-slam marker near the boss for Manny, and an arcing snowball for Tod. Controls: keyboard A/D or Left/Right to move; W/Up/Space to jump; K/J/Ctrl or mouse/touch click on the canvas to shoot; L/Shift/E to use super; M toggles music. Add mobile on-screen controls: left and right arrow buttons at bottom-left, and JUMP, SUPER, SHOOT buttons at bottom-right. Keep HUD interaction buttons active while the canvas is otherwise full-screen and touch-friendly. Top-left character buttons allow mid-run character switching. Display brief large center messages such as “Round One!”, “Phase 2! +1 HP”, “Ouch!”, “Super Blast!”, and “KNOCKOUT!”. When all four bosses are defeated, stop ordinary gameplay and show a celebratory victory report-card overlay: cream paper with dark outline, “KNOCKOUT!”, “INKPHASE RUMBLE CLEARED,” the selected hero, final score, HP left, “Bosses Beaten: 4 / 4,” a large rank badge using S/A/B/C based on score, and four bottom stamps reading CHARLES DOWN, LORA DOWN, MANNY DOWN, TOD DOWN. Add colorful falling confetti particles and a Play Again button. If HP reaches zero, show a cheesy defeat card overlay with “THE CURTAIN DROPS!”, the boss where the player stopped, all four bosses posing together, the mocking caption “Aw, what a spill! Want us to save you a mop?”, run progress percentage and phase count, a progress bar, and a Retry button. Keep the game entirely original 2D canvas cartoon artwork and do not use 3D gameplay.
