Critterbound was built by ZUMOKING with the Cinevva game creator: describe the game you want in chat, watch it get built, and play it in your browser minutes later.
Remix Critterbound opens the real game in the creator and forks its actual files, chat and design doc, so you start from the code rather than from a description.
Cinevva's analyzer read this game's design doc and its source, then wrote the brief below. "Make your own" hands it to the game creator as your opening message, so you start from a real spec rather than a one-line idea.
Rebuild a browser-based 2D creature-collecting adventure titled “Critterbound: Meadowlight.” Use a dark navy full-screen canvas with a clean, rounded-panel HUD and bright emoji/iconography rather than image assets. The game should be playable from keyboard and mouse, responsive to window size, and save progress locally. Opening flow: On first launch, show the world dimmed behind an intro overlay reading “🌿 Critterbound,” “A small world of big companions,” and “Choose a starter to begin your adventure.” Open a modal titled “Choose your first companion” with exactly three starter cards: Embercub (Fire, fox emoji, warm-furred spark cub, upgrade Blazebear), Ripplet (Water, frog emoji, cheerful puddle hopper, upgrade Tideroo), and Mossprout (Grass, seedling emoji, patient seedling friend, upgrade Thornelk). Clicking one creates a level-5 companion, adds it to the team and discovered list, and starts the world. World/camera: Create a top-down, fixed overview map of a 1600x860 connected-looking rectangular world, scaled and centered to fit the viewport below the HUD. The player is a small yellow circular marker with a white outline and a blue cap emoji. Movement is continuous with WASD or arrow keys at roughly 150 world units per second, clamped to the map edges. The map is divided into five colored rectangular regions: Sunseed Village (green, upper-left, 420x360), Whispering Woods (green, upper-middle, 720x560), Azure Coast (cyan, lower-left, 520x500), Ember Caverns (brown-red, lower-middle/right, 600x300), and Frostpeak Pass (pale blue, upper/right, 500x860). Add simple repeated decorative emojis: trees in ordinary green regions, palms on the coast, gems in the caverns, and snowflakes in Frostpeak. Include broad dark roads/dividers around x=395–419 and y=330–351. Landmarks should be large colored rectangular buildings with readable labels and emojis: “Healing Spring” (pink, heart, at about 150,130), “Mira’s Shop” (orange, cart, at 285,210), “Arena I” (purple temple, at 720,160), “Arena II” (purple temple, at 980,650), “Arena III” (purple temple, at 1250,220), “Arena IV” (purple temple, at 1370,670), and “Champion Gate” (gold, trophy, at 790,420). The HUD should display a dark translucent rounded top bar with the brand “🌿 Critterbound Meadowlight,” money (starting at 320), badges (starting 0/4), current area (starting Sunseed Village), and a light-blue Menu button. A bottom-left hint should say “WASD / arrows move · E interact · M menu · click battle choices.” Exploration and interaction: Press E near a landmark. The spring fully restores every team creature’s HP and displays a toast. The shop opens a modal titled “Mira’s Shop” with buttons to buy a capture device for 50 money and a tonic for 40 money, plus Leave; start with 8 capture devices and 3 tonics. Capture devices are consumed during capture attempts; tonics are purchasable inventory items but do not need a battle-use action. Entering a new region updates the area HUD and shows its note: village “A cozy village with a healing spring,” woods “Wild creatures rustle between the trees,” coast “Salt air and bright tidepools,” caverns “Warm crystals glow in the dark,” Frostpeak “A windy trail toward the summit.” If E is pressed away from a landmark, show a “Keep exploring” toast. Wild encounters: While moving outside the village, randomly trigger encounters at a low continuous rate; the encounter zones should use the region-specific pools: village Mossprout/Ripplet/Breezlet, woods Mossprout/Gloamoth/Vineviper/Breezlet/Duskit, coast Ripplet/Turtide/Cinderfin/Drizzlet, caverns Pebblit/Craggle/Sunmole/Cinderfin/Shiverock, and Frostpeak Frostrill/Cryocorn/Shiverock/Zephowl. A wild creature level should be around 2–7 depending on badge count. Discover its name in the Critterdex when it appears. Creatures and progression: Include these 20 named species, each with its displayed emoji, type, base stats, description, and upgrade name: Embercub (Fire, fox, 34 base HP, 12 ATK, 8 DEF, 11 SPD, Blazebear); Ripplet (Water, frog, 36,9,10,10, Tideroo); Mossprout (Grass, seedling, 38,10,11,7, Thornelk); Voltkit (Electric, cat,31,13,7,14, Stormlynx); Frostrill (Ice, penguin,33,10,9,12, Glacifin); Pebblit (Rock, hedgehog,42,11,14,4, Granitor); Gloamoth (Shadow, butterfly,30,14,7,13, Noctifly); Breezlet (Wind, bird,32,10,8,15, Galehawk); Cinderfin (Fire, fish,35,13,8,9, Magmako); Turtide (Water, turtle,44,8,15,5, Reefort); Vineviper (Grass, snake,34,14,8,12, Junglecoil); Sparkimp (Electric, alien,29,15,6,15, Arcfiend); Cryocorn (Ice, unicorn,37,12,10,11, Aurorhorn); Craggle (Rock, crab,40,12,13,6, Boulderclaw); Duskit (Shadow, black cat,31,14,8,14, Umbrawisp); Zephowl (Wind, owl,35,13,9,13, Tempestrix); Sunmole (Fire, hamster,39,11,10,8, Solburrow); Drizzlet (Water, otter,37,10,10,11, Monsoonly); Bloomoon (Grass, flower,33,12,9,12, Lunabloom); Shiverock (Ice, ice cube,41,11,12,6, Permafrost). Give generated creatures max HP = base + level*4, ATK = base ATK + level*2, DEF = base DEF + level, and SPD = base SPD + level. Each creature starts with Tackle, Pulse, Mend, and Guard Up. Battle screen: Replace the map with a dark blue battle arena: a darker floor band at the bottom, blue enemy ellipse at upper-right, green player ellipse at lower-left, large emoji fighters, status boxes with name, level, HP bar and numeric HP. Put the battle message near the bottom and four clickable buttons centered along the bottom: “⚔️ Fight,” “🪄 Catch,” “🔁 Creature,” and “🏃 Run.” Fight randomly selects one of the active creature’s moves. Tackle deals power 8, Pulse power 10, Mend heals 12 (capped), and Guard Up raises DEF by 2. Damage should use the attacker’s ATK, defender’s DEF, move power, random 0.85–1.15 variation, and type multipliers: Fire beats Grass (1.5) and is weak to Water (.65); Water beats Fire and is weak to Grass; Grass beats Water and is weak to Fire; Electric beats Water and is weak to Rock; Ice beats Wind; Rock beats Fire. Otherwise multiplier is 1. The enemy acts after player actions with a short delay, dealing damage using its stats and a basic power around 8 + half its level. If the active creature falls, automatically switch to the first living team member; if all are exhausted, remove 30 money, restore each to half HP, and end the battle with a return-to-spring message. Creature switches select another living team member. Run works only from wild battles. Catch works only on wild creatures, consumes one capture device, and has chance 0.18 + (1 - enemy HP/enemy max HP)*0.68; add the caught creature if the team has fewer than 6 members, otherwise report that the team is full. Victories award 25 money for wild battles and 100 for trainer battles, plus XP equal to 12 + enemy level*3. Level up at XP threshold level*20, increasing level, max HP by 4, ATK by 2, DEF by 1, SPD by 1, and fully healing. Arenas: Interacting with Arena I–IV starts sequential trainer battles only when earlier badges have been earned. Trainers use Voltkit, Craggle, Gloamoth, and Cryocorn respectively, at levels 6, 8, 10, and 12. A trainer victory awards the arena badge and updates the HUD; already-earned arenas report that the badge is already earned, and locked arenas say earlier badges are required. After four badges, interacting with Champion Gate starts the final championship against a level-15 Zephowl. If fewer than four badges, report that four badges are needed. Winning the championship shows a dimmed victory overlay: “🏆 Meadowlight Champion!” and “Your team conquered the final tournament.” Menu/UI: The Menu button or M key opens a modal titled “Meadowlight Menu” with Critterdex, Team, Save, and Reset Adventure buttons. Include the adventure tip about exploring grass/caves, healing at the spring, shopping for capture devices, and earning arena badges. Team shows cards with emoji, type, level, HP, ATK/DEF/SPD, and moves; a compact Active Team panel can list all team members with an active highlight and Use buttons. Critterdex shows all 20 entries, unknown entries as ❔/Unknown/??? until discovered, and indicates Caught for team members. Save writes the complete adventure state to local storage; Reset Adventure clears it and reloads. Use dark navy backgrounds, white text, translucent panels, rounded 12–18px corners, subtle borders/shadows, bright gold/blue buttons, and brief bottom toast notifications throughout.
