Make your own game

Christina Chronicles was built by Cristi o with the Cinevva game creator: describe the game you want in chat, watch it get built, and play it in your browser minutes later.

Remix Christina Chronicles opens the real game in the creator and forks its actual files, chat and design doc, so you start from the code rather than from a description.

Cinevva's analyzer read this game's design doc and its source, then wrote the brief below. "Make your own" hands it to the game creator as your opening message, so you start from a real spec rather than a one-line idea.

Rebuild a browser game titled “The Christina Chronicles: Around the World in 1700 Stages,” a story-driven casual match-3 adventure with a polished travel scrapbook/passport presentation. It is a 2D responsive web game, not an action game. The main loop is: read short illustrated chapter-story panels, play an 8x8 match-3 board, collect the chapter’s target piece types, complete stages in sequence, and unlock travel memories, destination stamps, character avatars, passport frames, comic-book pages, and a SelfBook. Save all progress locally on the device.

Overall visual direction: refined editorial travel journal mixed with vintage scrapbook and museum-catalog aesthetics. Use a warm parchment/ivory background, dark deep-teal typography, muted gold accents, thin borders, soft shadows, cream paper panels, serif display headings paired with a clean sans-serif UI font, and subtle photographic/illustrated travel imagery. The game should feel calm, literary, curious, and premium rather than flashy. The supplied imagery conceptually includes Christina, an airport, a large reference/travel collage, destination scenes, passport art, comic panels, and nature/travel artwork. Use full-bleed destination imagery as backgrounds or cropped cards, with translucent paper overlays so text remains readable. On initial loading, show a subdued “Preparing your journey…” overlay over the home/travel collage.

Home screen: header brand at top-left with a compass/star emblem and text “THE CHRISTINA CHRONICLES” plus subtitle “Around the World in 1700 Stages.” At top-right show five heart lives and a circular profile button. Below is navigation for Home, World map, Stamp Album, SelfBook, Comic Book, Shop, and Leaderboard. The hero is titled “Around the World in 1700 Stages,” with the eyebrow “A WORLD OF STORIES. ONE EXTRAORDINARY JOURNEY.” and copy about a mysterious letter, a missing book, and a world between the player and the answer. Show Christina, a brown-haired traveler with a colorful headband and camera, in a travel-photo/reference-card treatment. Include a prominent “Begin your journey” or “Continue your journey →” button, then a trip note identifying the next destination and stage. Footer text indicates “Match. Explore. Collect.”, 1,700 stages, progress saved on this device, and a “♫ Sound off/on” control. On first play, ask for a 3–20 character traveler name; the player plays as Christina but chooses the profile name.

Narrative structure: there are about 100 chapters/destinations spanning exactly 1,700 sequential stages. The route starts at an Airport (stages 1–9), then England/Stonehenge, North and Central America, South America, Egypt and Africa, Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and finally home. Each chapter has a destination name, country/region, local character, missing quest item, story hook, and a humorous Christina quip. At the start of each chapter show a modal illustrated mini-comic of four panels: welcome/location, the character’s missing item, a humorous quote, and the next clue. The first chapter explains Eleanor’s letter, The Atlas of Unfinished Journeys, Christina packing and flying to England, then helping Mara find a boarding pass at the airport. Story text should be concise and displayed in a modal with a primary continue button.

World map: provide a destination/chapter grid headed “The world is your story.” and “CHRISTINA’S WORLD ATLAS,” with the route summary “Airport → England → the Americas → Africa → Europe → Asia → Home.” Each destination card has a cropped scene image, chapter number, destination name, country, stage range, and status: collected stamp, current/unlocked journey, or preview/locked. Include search for destination/country/stage and a region/country filter. Clicking a card opens a chapter detail modal with its image, hook, character quest, final-stage item, and buttons for individual stages. Story stages unlock in order, but allow practice mode for preview chapters; practice must not change progress, lives, or collections.

Core gameplay screen: show a scenic full-screen destination background (airport artwork for the opening chapter, Christina/home art for home scenes, or a destination/reference image for other themes) behind a central game shell. The central area contains an 8-column by 8-row grid of six colorful themed collectible pieces. Pieces should be recognizable as travel/nature/museum motifs appropriate to the chapter (for example small illustrated artifacts, stones, leaves, water/sky, desert, cave, forest, or museum symbols), with a clear selected state and accessible labels. The player selects two neighboring pieces to swap; a swap is legal only if it creates a horizontal or vertical match of three or more identical pieces. Matched pieces disappear, the remaining pieces fall downward, new pieces fill from above, and cascades score bonus points. Invalid swaps revert and show “That swap makes no match. Try another pair.” If the board has no valid move, automatically reshuffle it.

Each stage has three target piece types and target counts. The normal stage has 36 moves; every seventh stage is a medium challenge with 28 moves; the penultimate stage of each chapter is hard with 23 moves; the final stage is a timed hard finale with a 45-move reference counter plus a 90-second countdown. The side panel shows “Moves left” or “Time left,” the three “Collect” goals with progress and checkmarks, and the current score. The right quest panel shows an icon, “[character]’s quest,” “Find the [item],” a progress bar through the chapter, and a “Stage keepsake” such as an arrival postcard, ticket stub, pocket sketch, travel photograph, journal clipping, or the actual quest item on a finale. The game title line shows destination and stage number and labels ordinary, medium, hard, or timed finale stages.

Below the board show the instruction “Select two neighboring pieces to swap. Match three or more.” Provide three tools: HINT (briefly highlight a valid swap), SHUFFLE (two uses per stage, creates a fresh valid board), and HAMMER (three uses per stage, lets the player select and collect one individual piece). Animate matches and cascades gently; show “Cascade ×N” and collected-piece feedback. A stage win displays a modal with a celebratory icon, narrative result, score and stage number. Completing a chapter says the player found the quest item and unlocks its stamp, friendship memory, avatar, and badge. Completing stage 1500 reveals that Lin has the real “The Atlas of Unfinished Journeys”; stage 1680 returns the atlas to Eleanor; stage 1700 concludes with Christina’s complete world of memories and offers to open the album. A loss consumes one life and offers retry or return home.

Lives/progression: start with five hearts. Losing a non-practice stage removes one life; one life regenerates every hour, capped at five. If no lives remain, explain the recharge timer but allow the player to explore the map and books. Persist name, highest completed stage, completed-stage timestamps, active unfinished board, lives/timer, chosen avatar, passport frame, story-seen flags, and whether the atlas/book has been found in local storage. The active stage can be resumed. Include optional soft background music from a world-travel track and quiet synthesized match/navigation chimes, with sound off by default.

Collection screens: Stamp Album shows completed destination stamps in a paged paper-book grid (eight chapters per page), locked destinations remain visibly muted. SelfBook shows character-and-Christina friendship entries for completed chapters. Comic Book shows the four-panel story for each chapter, one chapter per page, readable even as a preview. Completing the final portion of the journey reveals album pages in batches and final friendship photographs. Profile/leaderboard view shows the chosen traveler name, highest stage, destination/badge count, Christina or unlocked character-initial avatars, selectable passport frames, and a local-only leaderboard row; clearly label that global rankings are not connected. Shop is a non-purchasing preview with offers such as remove ads, unlimited lives for one day/week, and change traveler name, each opening a “Coming to the full adventure” modal and never charging or granting entitlements.

Include responsive layouts for desktop and mobile, keyboard/accessibility labels for board pieces and controls, clear modal close buttons, and tasteful transitions. Keep all text and mechanics faithful to this sequential travel mystery and match-3 collection loop; do not add combat, platforming, enemies, timers outside the specified final-stage countdown, or unrelated power systems.
