Make your own game

Starfall Dogfight was built by Youssef h with the Cinevva game creator: describe the game you want in chat, watch it get built, and play it in your browser minutes later.

Remix Starfall Dogfight opens the real game in the creator and forks its actual files, chat and design doc, so you start from the code rather than from a description.

Read the build brief for Starfall Dogfight

Cinevva's analyzer read this game's design doc and its source, then wrote the brief below. "Make your own" hands it to the game creator as your opening message, so you start from a real spec rather than a one-line idea.

Create a browser-based 2D top-down arcade space dogfight called “Starfall Dogfight.” Render the playfield on a full-window HTML canvas with a fixed screen view (no camera following or scrolling), and make the canvas responsive to the viewport. Use a deep navy-to-near-black radial space background with roughly 170 tiny blue-white stars, varied opacity and size, subtly drifting horizontally to create motion.

The player pilots a small neon cyan/blue triangular fighter, positioned initially around 28% of the screen width and 52% of the height. The ship points in the direction of the mouse cursor (or pointer), with a bright cyan glow and a dark blue inner cockpit/triangle. It has simple thrust-like inertia: WASD or arrow keys accelerate it in the corresponding direction, velocity is damped slightly, and speed is capped. The ship wraps around screen edges, reappearing on the opposite side when it leaves the viewport. On touch devices, provide a translucent circular virtual joystick in the lower-left for movement; show FIRE and MISSILE buttons in the lower-right.

Aiming is independent of movement: the player ship continuously rotates toward the mouse/pointer. Holding the mouse button fires rapid cyan laser bolts in the ship’s facing direction; keyboard J should also fire. Shots have a short cooldown, travel quickly with the player’s current velocity, leave a short bright trail, and expire after a limited lifetime. On touch screens, the FIRE button acts as the held-fire control. Player shots damage enemies and asteroids.

Start each run with score 0, hull 100%, and 3 missiles. Pressing Space launches a limited-use golden homing missile, with keyboard Space launch behavior prevented from scrolling the page; the touch MISSILE button performs the same action. A missile can only be launched when the player has missiles remaining and is not in its brief launch cooldown. It begins moving forward, selects the nearest living enemy, turns gradually toward that target, accelerates up to a capped speed, wraps at screen edges, and lasts several seconds. On collision it instantly destroys the enemy, creates a larger orange explosion, and awards 150 points. Display remaining missiles in the HUD.

Populate the field with irregular gray-blue polygonal asteroids, initially about 11, at random positions and sizes. Give them thin lighter outlines, random polygon silhouettes, slow random drift and rotation, and screen wrapping. Asteroids have several hit points based on their size; player laser hits reduce their health and create small gray impact particles. If an asteroid overlaps the player, continuously reduce hull slightly and push the ship away, with a small screen shake. Asteroids should visually resemble flat faceted rocks rather than realistic 3D objects.

Begin with 3 pink/red glowing enemy arrowhead fighters placed in the right half of the screen. Continue spawning enemies from alternating/random left or right edges every roughly 2.5–5.3 seconds. Enemies are compact neon pink triangular ships with dark maroon interiors and a pale outline. They use simple steering AI: rotate gradually to face the player, accelerate toward the player, cap their speed, and wrap around screen edges. Each enemy has 3 hit points and fires pink laser bolts at the player every roughly 1.3–3.7 seconds, aiming directly at the player’s current position. Enemy projectiles move more slowly than player shots, have a pink/red trail, and damage the player by 8 hull points on contact. Player laser hits create small golden impact bursts; destroying an enemy creates a larger pink burst and awards 100 points.

Use lightweight glowing particle effects for firing, hits, enemy destruction, missile impacts, and player destruction. Include brief screen shake on damage and asteroid collisions. Keep all objects in a wraparound arena. Remove expired projectiles and particles, and maintain at least about 10 asteroids by spawning replacements when the count drops.

Overlay a translucent dark glass-style HUD over the canvas. In the upper-left, show a rounded panel with the uppercase cyan title “STARFALL DOGFIGHT” and a single-line readout: “Score 0”, “Hull 100%”, and “Missiles 3,” updating live. In the upper-right, show a matching help panel on desktop reading “WASD / arrows to fly”, “Mouse to aim · click to fire”, and “Space launches a homing missile.” Hide that help text on coarse-pointer/touch devices and show the virtual joystick and touch buttons instead. Use dark translucent panels, subtle blue borders, rounded corners, soft shadowing, and a clean modern system sans-serif font.

When hull reaches zero, stop gameplay, set hull to 0, show a centered translucent overlay card reading “Ship Lost,” “Final score: [score],” and a prominent blue RESTART button. Restart resets score, hull, missiles, entities, particles, timers, and the initial asteroid/enemy population. Keep the visual style minimalist neon arcade: dark starfield, cyan player, hot-pink enemies and enemy fire, golden missiles, muted slate asteroids, and crisp glowing particles.
