Make your own game

Skyline Sharpshooter was built with the Cinevva game creator: describe the game you want in chat, watch it get built, and play it in your browser minutes later.

Remix Skyline Sharpshooter opens the real game in the creator and forks its actual files, chat and design doc, so you start from the code rather than from a description.

Read the build brief for Skyline Sharpshooter

Cinevva's analyzer read this game's design doc and its source, then wrote the brief below. "Make your own" hands it to the game creator as your opening message, so you start from a real spec rather than a one-line idea.

Create a responsive, full-screen 2D canvas arcade game titled “Skyline Sharpshooter.” The scene is a stylized twilight/night city sky: draw a vertical gradient from very dark navy at the top through deep blue to a warm orange near the bottom, with around 90 small static white stars concentrated in the upper roughly 72% of the screen. Add a soft glowing pale-yellow/orange sun or moon around 78% screen width and 28% screen height. Along the horizon, render a dark navy silhouetted skyline made of simple rectangular buildings with varied heights, then a darker translucent foreground strip across the bottom 21% of the screen.

Show a fixed HUD over the canvas. Across the top, place three dark translucent, lightly blurred/glass-like rounded stat pills: “SCORE 0” on the left, “MISSED 0/5” centered, and “TIME 45” on the right. Use bold white text with a subtle dark shadow. At the bottom center show a small dark translucent pill reading “Tap targets • Mouse click works too.”

Before play begins, show a centered title panel around 42% screen height with large bold white text split across two lines: “Skyline” and “Sharpshooter.” Under it, show the subtitle “Tap or click the flying targets before they escape the sky.” and a prominent rounded yellow-orange button labeled “START ROUND,” with a darker orange offset shadow beneath it. The layout must scale for mobile and desktop, and the page should prevent scrolling and browser selection.

When the player presses the start button, reset score to 0, missed targets to 0, and round time to 45 seconds; hide the title panel and show a white glowing circular crosshair at the pointer position. The player shoots by tapping/clicking anywhere on the playfield; mouse clicks and touch taps both work. Move the crosshair to the pointer on pointer movement, and on each pointer down test whether the click is within target radius plus 16 pixels of any active target. A click creates a brief white shot dot at the clicked location. If it hits a target, remove it, add 10 points plus an increasing bonus of floor((45 - remainingTime)/10), and create 8 small glowing yellow-white spark particles that burst outward and fall slightly under gravity.

Targets should continuously fly horizontally across the sky, spawning just beyond either the left or right edge. Choose the left edge about 55% of the time and the right edge otherwise. Spawn vertically between 18% and 66% of screen height, avoiding the skyline; target size is random between 18 and 29 pixels. Targets travel toward the opposite side at a base speed of 90–160 pixels/second, with speed increasing as the timer progresses using the equivalent of multiplying by 1 + (45 - remainingTime)/60. Give each target a small vertical drift between -9 and +9 pixels/second and rotate it continuously at about 2 radians/second.

Render each target as a bright glowing orange/amber geometric flying target: a six-pointed elongated diamond/hexagonal shape, filled with a warm hue in the orange-to-yellow range, outlined in pale cream, with a cream inner circle and a small dark red center bullseye. Apply a colored glow/shadow around the target. A target counts as escaped when it travels more than 60 pixels beyond either edge: remove it and increment MISSED. If MISSED reaches 5, immediately end the round. Also end normally when the 45-second timer reaches zero. Update the HUD timer using the ceiling of remaining time, never allowing it to display below zero.

At round end, hide the crosshair and show the centered message panel again. If 5 targets escaped, set the heading to “Targets Escaped!” and the message to “Final score: [score]. Keep your eyes on the sky.” Otherwise use heading “Round Complete” and message “Final score: [score]. Clean shooting.” Change the button label to “PLAY AGAIN,” allowing a new round with the same reset behavior. Keep the visual style clean, high-contrast, polished, and arcade-like, using system sans-serif typography, navy glass HUD elements, warm yellow controls, glowing targets, and crisp canvas rendering on high-DPI displays.
