Create a minimalist 2D lunar landing game titled “Quiet Descent,” shown in a full-screen browser canvas with a dark navy-to-indigo vertical gradient space background, scattered small pale stars, and a dark slate-blue uneven lunar surface across the bottom. Use a fixed top HUD panel with translucent dark glass styling, thin blue-gray border, rounded corners, and the title “QUIET DESCENT” on the left. On the right of the HUD show live readouts: “Fuel [percentage]%”, “Altitude [number]”, and “Speed [number]”. The player controls a small stylized white/light-blue lunar lander near the upper center. Draw it as a compact pointed triangular spacecraft body with a blue-gray rectangular window and a dark circular cockpit window, plus thin landing legs. It should rotate slightly as the player steers. Place one bright blue horizontal landing pad near the bottom, at about 82% of screen height, with a subtle blue glow/strip beneath it. The pad is randomly positioned within roughly the middle 36% of the screen each new descent. Core gameplay is a physics-based descent. Begin in a ready state with the lander centered around 16% screen height, zero horizontal and vertical velocity, neutral rotation, and 18% fuel. Gravity continuously increases downward velocity. Left/right steering accelerates horizontally, applies mild drag, clamps horizontal speed, and tilts the craft toward the steering direction; keep the lander constrained within the screen edges. Holding thrust applies upward acceleration, shows an orange outer flame with a pale yellow inner flame below the craft, and consumes fuel continuously at approximately 4.4 percentage points per second. Thrust should stop when fuel reaches zero, while the lander continues falling. Clamp vertical speed so the descent remains playable. The goal is to land on the blue pad while centered over it and moving gently. A successful landing requires the lander’s horizontal center to be within approximately 55% of the pad width and both vertical speed under 70 and horizontal speed under 62. On success, stop the craft on the pad and show a translucent centered result panel titled “Soft landing,” with text reporting the remaining fuel to one decimal place and a button labeled “Try another descent.” Calculate a landing score as 100 plus remaining fuel multiplied by 10, though this score need not be displayed in the HUD. If the craft reaches the pad too fast or off-center, show “Hard impact” and the text “The landing gear came in too fast. Restart and use short thrust bursts.” with a “Retry landing” button. If fuel is exhausted and the craft falls beyond the lower screen boundary, show “Out of fuel” and the text “You drifted too far from the pad. Steer early, then save the last fuel for braking.” with a retry button. Before play, display a centered translucent dark modal near the upper-middle of the screen with rounded border and the heading “Touch down gently,” explanatory copy: “You're almost out of fuel. Feather the thrusters, line up with the landing pad, and keep your vertical speed low.”, and a light-blue “Begin descent” button. Clicking it or pressing Enter starts a new descent and hides the modal. Restarting resets fuel, velocities, position, and randomizes the pad again. Support keyboard controls: A or Left Arrow steers left, D or Right Arrow steers right, and W, Up Arrow, or Space activates thrust while held. Also provide large touch-friendly controls along the lower left: a left arrow button, a wider amber-tinted “THRUST” button, and a right arrow button. Use pointer press/release behavior so controls work while held. Add a lower-right translucent hint panel reading exactly: “A / D or ← / → to steer” on the first line, “W / Space / ↑ to burn fuel” on the second, and “Land on the blue pad” on the third; hide this hint on narrow mobile screens. Use a clean system sans-serif UI font, dark glassmorphism panels, pale blue text, responsive full-screen layout, and no scrolling.
