Make your own game

Pulse Snake was built by Programação AG with the Cinevva game creator: describe the game you want in chat, watch it get built, and play it in your browser minutes later.

Remix Pulse Snake opens the real game in the creator and forks its actual files, chat and design doc, so you start from the code rather than from a description.

Read the build brief for Pulse Snake

Cinevva's analyzer read this game's design doc and its source, then wrote the brief below. "Make your own" hands it to the game creator as your opening message, so you start from a real spec rather than a one-line idea.

Create a responsive 2D arcade game titled “Pulse Snake.” Use a full-screen HTML canvas with a dark neon sci-fi presentation. The background should be an almost-black navy/purple radial gradient, brighter violet near the center and fading to near-black at the edges. In the center, render a large square grid playfield with roughly 20 columns by 20 rows (adapt the cell size and number of rows/columns to the viewport while keeping at least about 14 by 14 cells). Draw subtle violet grid lines and a glowing hot-pink/purple outline around the board. Keep the board centered, with room for the top HUD and mobile controls.

The game is classic grid-based Snake. Start with a three-segment snake centered on the board, moving right automatically. Each segment is a glowing circular orb rather than a square: the head is cyan/blue with a bright white/cyan center and stronger glow, while the body uses a blue-to-cyan radial gradient and blue glow. On every movement tick, advance the snake by one grid cell in its current direction. The player steers with Arrow keys or WASD on desktop, and with a four-button neon directional pad on mobile (up, left, down, right). Do not allow an immediate 180-degree reversal. The directional pad should be visible near the bottom on narrow screens and hidden on larger screens.

Place one pulsing glowing magenta/pink orb as food at a random unoccupied grid cell. It should gently vary in radius over time and have a soft pink halo. When the snake’s head reaches the food, increase the score by 10, grow the snake by one segment, place a new food orb at a random free cell, and make the snake move faster. Start at a 145 ms movement interval (shown as 1.0x); after each food, reduce the interval according to the snake length, down to a minimum of 58 ms. Display speed as 145 divided by the current interval, formatted to one decimal place with an “x” suffix. On eating, emit a small burst of around 18 pink square particles from the food location that drift outward and fade.

End the run if the snake’s next head cell goes outside the board or intersects any existing snake segment. There is no wraparound. When the run ends, stop movement and show a centered dark translucent overlay with a bordered/glowing panel. Change the title to “RUN ENDED,” show the final score, length, and final speed, and change the button to “Run Again.” The initial overlay should show the large glowing title “PULSE SNAKE,” the tagline “Eat the glowing orbs. Grow longer. Move faster.”, a prominent neon gradient “Start Run” button, and the hint “Arrow keys / WASD to steer” plus “On mobile, use the neon pad.” Starting by clicking the button or pressing Space while not running should reset the snake, score, speed, particles, and food, then hide the overlay and begin the run. Tapping any mobile direction should also start the game if it is not running.

Add a fixed top HUD over the canvas: on the left, small uppercase letter-spaced text “PULSE SNAKE”; on the right, three dark translucent bordered stat boxes labeled SCORE, LENGTH, and SPEED, showing the live values (initially 0, 3, and 1.0x). Use purple borders, inset shadows, and subtle neon glow. Use a clean dark system sans-serif font, uppercase labels, and neon cyan/blue, pink, and violet color accents. Keep the interface touch-friendly, prevent page scrolling, and make the entire layout adapt to desktop and mobile viewport sizes. The visual style should match a minimalist glowing neon arcade game with no scenery beyond the grid, board border, snake, food, particles, HUD, and start/game-over overlay.
