Make your own game

Neon Coil was built by Prince Edrian Anunciado with the Cinevva game creator: describe the game you want in chat, watch it get built, and play it in your browser minutes later.

Remix Neon Coil opens the real game in the creator and forks its actual files, chat and design doc, so you start from the code rather than from a description.

Read the build brief for Neon Coil

Cinevva's analyzer read this game's design doc and its source, then wrote the brief below. "Make your own" hands it to the game creator as your opening message, so you start from a real spec rather than a one-line idea.

Create a responsive 2D canvas snake game titled “Neon Coil,” presented in a dark futuristic neon arcade style. Use a full-screen nearly black navy background (#050711) with a centered rectangular playfield made of 24 columns by 18 rows. The board should scale responsively: each cell is between 14 and 30 pixels, with the whole 24×18 grid centered slightly below the vertical midpoint. Fill the board with a subtle dark blue vertical gradient, draw faint cyan grid lines for every cell, and give its thin cyan border a soft glow.

The player is a glowing segmented cyan/blue coil (classic snake). On a new run, initialize it horizontally at the exact center of the board, three circular segments long, moving right. Draw each segment as a luminous circle centered in its grid cell, with the head slightly larger/brighter than the body and a tiny pale eye/highlight indicating its forward direction. The body can shift through cyan/blue hues along its length while retaining a strong neon glow. The snake advances one grid cell at a time automatically, initially every 145 milliseconds. Arrow keys and WASD turn it; prevent an immediate 180-degree reversal. Also provide a mobile touch control pad at the bottom center: four square, cyan-outlined buttons arranged as an up button above left/down/right buttons, with triangular arrow glyphs. Button presses should turn the snake in the same way as keyboard controls. A direction input before the run begins starts/resets the run.

Place one collectible food orb at a random unoccupied grid cell. Render it as a small pulsing hot-pink/magenta glowing circle with a tiny pale pink highlight. When the snake’s head reaches the orb, add 10 points, increase the snake length by one (do not remove the tail on that step), spawn a brief burst of about 12 small pink particles at the cell, relocate the food to another unoccupied random cell, and make the movement faster. Reduce the step interval by about 4.2 ms for each segment beyond the starting length, but never below 58 ms. The score and length should update live.

The run ends immediately if the next head cell is outside the 24×18 board or overlaps the snake’s existing body. On game over, stop movement, save/update a persistent best score using local storage, and show a centered restart overlay. The overlay is a dark translucent/gradient panel with a thin magenta border and pink glow. At the initial idle state, show the large glowing pink title “NEON COIL,” the subtitle “Grow the coil. Ride the speed.”, a cyan-outlined START RUN button, and helper text “Arrow keys / WASD to turn” plus “On mobile, use the neon pad.” After collision, change the title to “RUN ENDED,” show “Score [score] • Best [best],” and change the button label to “RUN IT BACK.” The run can also be started with the space bar when not currently running. Keep the overlay hidden while playing.

Add a fixed HUD above the canvas. At the top left show the spaced, uppercase glowing cyan brand “NEON COIL.” At the top right show two dark translucent statistic boxes with subtle cyan borders/glow: one displaying the numeric score above the label “SCORE,” and one displaying the current snake segment count above “LENGTH.” Use responsive typography and respect safe-area insets on mobile. Keep the canvas touch-action disabled and make the game playable with mouse/touch buttons as well as keyboard. On larger screens make the touch pad more subdued, while keeping it visible; on mobile it should be prominent. Do not add enemies, walls inside the board, powerups, multiple foods, lives, weapons, or scrolling—the only hazards are the board boundary and the snake’s own body, and the camera remains fixed on the centered grid.
