Gridiron Dash was built by jamus.hall1l with the Cinevva game creator: describe the game you want in chat, watch it get built, and play it in your browser minutes later.
Remix Gridiron Dash opens the real game in the creator and forks its actual files, chat and design doc, so you start from the code rather than from a description.
Cinevva's analyzer read this game's design doc and its source, then wrote the brief below. "Make your own" hands it to the game creator as your opening message, so you start from a real spec rather than a one-line idea.
Create a browser game titled “Gridiron Dash,” a bite-sized retro football running game rendered on a responsive HTML canvas. Use a fixed full-screen/contained play area (up to about 1100x760, minimum roughly 320x420) with a crisp pixel-art aesthetic and bold 1980s arcade colors: dark navy ink, cream, red, gold, and green. The camera is a static top-down/2D field view; the player stays near the bottom of the screen while the field and defenders provide the sense of advancing toward the goal line. At launch, show a dark translucent overlay over the field with a centered cream card, thick dark-navy border and offset shadow. The card says “GRIDIRON DASH” in very large red uppercase lettering with a gold offset shadow, followed by “A bite-sized retro football run. Juke defenders and reach the end zone.” and a gold “KICK OFF” button. Starting the game removes this panel, resets SCORE to 0 and DOWN to 1 / 4, and displays the status “RUN TO THE END ZONE.” Include a matching restart/game-over card structure for the end of the drive with a “PLAY AGAIN” button; the normal successful completion is a touchdown after the fourth down. Draw the field as a flat stylized canvas: dark green turf with alternating vertical green stripes, a red end-zone band across the top containing the cream label “GOAL LINE,” horizontal cream yard lines across the field at regular intervals, short hash marks near the lower area, and a tan strip at the bottom with “END ZONE” labeling. Add a narrow gold stadium/crowd strip along the very top with repeating red blocks. Use no detailed textures or realistic 3D. The controllable runner is a simple blocky football player near the bottom center: dark navy rectangular torso, two separated dark legs, a gold helmet/head block and a small forward-facing helmet extension, plus a cream vertical jersey detail. Defenders use the same block construction but red jerseys and cream helmets. On each play spawn 2 + current down defenders, capped at 6, at varied x positions and staggered y positions above the runner. They move downward toward the player at individual speeds (roughly 40–55 plus a down-based increase), with slight sinusoidal horizontal weaving, while remaining within side boundaries. Once a defender has been hit, do not draw it again. Controls: hold Left Arrow/Right Arrow or A/D to move the runner horizontally; constrain the runner to margins around 35 pixels from either side. On touch/mobile, provide two large bottom-left buttons with left and right triangle glyphs, cream/gold backgrounds, thick navy borders, and navy offset shadows; pointer hold should continuously move in that direction. Provide a bottom-right hint reading “A / D or ◀ / ▶ to juke” and “Space to burst.” Pressing Space activates a short burst/dodge: for about 0.22 seconds multiply horizontal movement speed by 2.5, grant about 0.32 seconds of invulnerability, and emit a few small cream square particles. The player’s ordinary horizontal speed is about 260 pixels/second. While running, automatically advance yard progress at about 90 + 9×down units per second. When progress exceeds 110, complete the play and move to the next down. Show “FIRST DOWN — KEEP MOVING” briefly, then return to “RUN TO THE END ZONE,” reset the runner to bottom-center, clear particles, and respawn defenders. After down 4 is completed, end successfully: add 7 points, show “TOUCHDOWN!” and text such as “Seven points on the board. Keep the drive alive.” with the play-again card. If a defender overlaps the runner while the runner is not invulnerable, mark that defender hit, briefly make the runner invulnerable/flashing, subtract 1 point without going below zero, show “TACKLED — JUMP BACK IN,” create a burst of small square particles, and advance to the next down after roughly half a second. Maintain and visibly update the top HUD with cream text and dark shadow: “SCORE 0” at upper left and “DOWN 1 / 4” at upper right; center the current status near the top below the HUD. Use simple axis-aligned rectangle overlap for tackles. Add flashing during invulnerability and gravity-like motion to the small square tackle/burst particles. Keep the overall presentation clean, chunky, and responsive, with canvas drawing behind absolutely positioned HTML HUD, overlay panels, and controls. Do not add passing, throwing, ball sprites, extra enemies, scrolling camera, lives, ammo, or other features not described here.
