Make your own game

Glowcoil was built by Christian Worship with the Cinevva game creator: describe the game you want in chat, watch it get built, and play it in your browser minutes later.

Remix Glowcoil opens the real game in the creator and forks its actual files, chat and design doc, so you start from the code rather than from a description.

Read the build brief for Glowcoil

Cinevva's analyzer read this game's design doc and its source, then wrote the brief below. "Make your own" hands it to the game creator as your opening message, so you start from a real spec rather than a one-line idea.

Create a single-screen browser arcade game titled “Glowcoil,” a neon cyber-grid Snake game. Use a full-viewport responsive canvas with a dark navy radial-gradient background (#101b3b fading to nearly black). Center a square 28×28 gameplay board; each cell should be sized responsively based on the viewport (roughly 12–24 px), with the board centered and surrounded by a soft electric-blue glow. Fill the board with a translucent very dark blue panel and fine blue grid lines at every cell boundary, creating a clean futuristic blueprint/grid appearance.

The player is a glowing segmented coil/snake. Begin each run with four cells in a horizontal row at grid coordinates (8,14), (7,14), (6,14), (5,14), moving right. Render each segment as a bright circular orb centered in its grid cell, with cyan/teal glow; make the head a slightly pink/lavender-white orb with a stronger purple glow and a tiny white eye/accent positioned according to the current direction. The snake advances one grid cell at a time, with movement continuously timed at an initial interval of about 0.145 seconds per step. It may turn up, down, left, or right, but reject immediate 180-degree reversals. It must die when the head hits any board edge or any part of its own body. On collision, stop movement and show a centered dark translucent modal with a cyan border/glow, heading “SYSTEM CRASH,” text “Score [score] · Best [best]. The coil hit the wall.” and a glowing gradient button labeled “RUN IT BACK.” Persist the best score in local storage.

Place one collectible cyan spark at a random unoccupied grid cell. Render it as a small bright white/cyan concentric glowing dot with a subtle pulsing halo. When the head reaches it, increase the score by 10 plus the current speed multiplied by 2 and floored, increase the snake length by one segment, spawn a new spark at another unoccupied random cell, and emit a brief burst of 18 tiny cyan particles radiating from the collected cell. The snake grows because its tail is not removed on the collection step. Increase speed after every collected spark according to speed = min(3.2, 1 + (length - 4) × 0.075), and use the movement interval 0.145 / speed, so the run gets progressively faster.

The HUD should overlay the canvas and not block gameplay except for the modal. At top left, show a rounded translucent dark panel with the glowing spaced brand “GLOWCOIL” and subtitle “grow fast. turn sharper.” At top right, show three compact translucent stat cards labeled SCORE, LENGTH, and SPEED, with initial values 0, 4, and 1.0x; update them live. Use cyan/purple borders, subtle inset glow, and a glassy dark-blue style. Initially, before a run starts, show a centered modal reading “GLOWCOIL,” “Eat the cyan sparks. Every segment makes you faster.” and a button “START RUN.” Pressing it resets the snake, score, length, speed, particles, direction, and places fresh food.

At the bottom, show the desktop control hint “Arrow keys / WASD · swipe or tap the pad.” Support Arrow keys and WASD. Also support touch/mouse swipe gestures on the canvas: detect a sufficiently long swipe and choose the dominant horizontal or vertical direction. On coarse-pointer/mobile devices, replace the hint with a visible two-row directional pad in the lower-right: up centered over left/down/right, with dark translucent buttons, cyan outlines and arrow glyphs. The pad buttons should control direction directly and support touch. Press Enter after a run is not active to restart. Keep the aesthetic strictly minimal neon sci-fi: navy-black background, blue grid, cyan collectible and body glow, lavender head, cyan UI accents, no characters, enemies, texturing, or extra game modes.
