Make your own game

Glow Snake was built by Suraj Pandit with the Cinevva game creator: describe the game you want in chat, watch it get built, and play it in your browser minutes later.

Remix Glow Snake opens the real game in the creator and forks its actual files, chat and design doc, so you start from the code rather than from a description.

Cinevva's analyzer read this game's design doc and its source, then wrote the brief below. "Make your own" hands it to the game creator as your opening message, so you start from a real spec rather than a one-line idea.

Create a responsive 2D browser game titled “Glow Snake” using a single HTML canvas and an overlaid HUD. It is a neon arcade Snake game viewed straight down from above on a square 24-by-24 grid. The playable board is sized to about 88% of the smaller viewport dimension, with 24 cells per side, and sits at the upper-left of the page; leave the surrounding page visible as a very dark purple/black radial-gradient backdrop. Draw the board background as a deep navy-to-black radial gradient, brighter toward the upper/central area, with thin cyan-blue grid lines at every cell boundary. Add a bright cyan glowing rectangular border around the full board.

The snake starts with three grid segments in a horizontal row around the center, moving right: head at (10,12), body at (9,12) and (8,12). It advances one grid cell at a time, initially at 7 moves per second. Use arrow keys or WASD to change direction; prevent an immediate 180-degree reversal. The first direction input starts the game, and tapping the canvas or pressing Space also starts a not-yet-started game. The snake dies when its next head cell leaves the 24x24 board or hits any existing segment. On death, stop movement and show a centered crash overlay with “Crash”, the final score, and “Press Space or tap to restart.” Space or a canvas tap while dead resets the game.

Place one collectible food orb on a random open cell, never on the snake. Render it as a pulsing white center with a larger pink/magenta glow and cyan secondary glow; its radius subtly changes over time. When the head enters the orb cell, increase score by 1, keep the tail (making the snake one segment longer), spawn a new orb on another open cell, and increase movement speed by 0.5 moves per second per point (7.0, 7.5, 8.0, etc.). Otherwise remove the tail each step. The head should be a rounded square inset slightly within its cell, with a cyan/turquoise glow and a gradient from pale yellow through light cyan to blue; draw two small dark eyes on its front-facing head area. Body segments should be rounded squares with a magenta/pink-to-purple gradient and pink glow. Use soft bloom-like canvas shadows for all neon elements.

Overlay a fixed HUD above the canvas. At the top, show three rounded translucent dark chips with thin cyan borders and neon text: “Score: 0” (left), “Length: 3” (center), and “Speed: 7.0” (right), updating live. At the bottom, show chips reading “ARROWS / WASD” on the left and “TAP OR PRESS SPACE TO RESTART” on the right. Use uppercase, bold, widely letter-spaced sans-serif text with cyan/white glow. On initial reset, show a centered translucent dark modal with a magenta/cyan glow, large pink neon “Glow Snake”, and the text “Eat the pulsing orb. Every bite makes you longer — and faster.<br>Press any arrow key to start.” Hide it once play begins. The modal should reappear as the crash message. Keep the overall visual style minimal, futuristic, dark, and high-contrast with cyan, magenta, purple, and white neon lighting; do not add enemies, walls inside the board, powerups, levels, lives, sound, or other mechanics.
