Make your own game

Garden Merge was built by Fadi Alhasan with the Cinevva game creator: describe the game you want in chat, watch it get built, and play it in your browser minutes later.

Remix Garden Merge opens the real game in the creator and forks its actual files, chat and design doc, so you start from the code rather than from a description.

Read the build brief for Garden Merge

Cinevva's analyzer read this game's design doc and its source, then wrote the brief below. "Make your own" hands it to the game creator as your opening message, so you start from a real spec rather than a one-line idea.

Create a responsive portrait-oriented casual merge puzzle game titled “Garden Merge,” designed for mobile touch input and desktop pointer input. Use a warm, soft illustrated 2D garden scene as the full-screen background, with a maximum content width around 560px and the game vertically filling the viewport. Render the landscape in a canvas behind the interface: a muted sage/cream gradient sky and ground, rounded green shrub/tree silhouettes, and a run-down café-garden corner. Include a simple brown building or shed on the left with a dark brown roof/awning, two dark window/door sections, and a pale yellow central doorway/window. On the right/middle show a neglected garden feature with a brown bench-like structure, a leaning brown-handled garden object, and rounded green plants. The background should visibly change as the player restores the garden: stage 0 has a worn dark-brown bench and sparse neglected feature; after the first restoration, show a more finished bench with warm orange/brown boards, green legs, and a small golden detail; after the second restoration, show a working blue-gray fountain/water feature with a pale center, pulsing water rings and small animated droplets. Add a burst of small gold and green particles whenever a restoration is completed.

Overlay a clean, friendly HUD using cream translucent rounded cards, subtle borders and shadows, dark green text, and a muted garden palette. At the top place two side-by-side stat cards: “ENERGY” with a large numeric value initially 30 and a horizontal gold energy bar initially full, and “RESTYLE POINTS” with a large numeric value initially 0. Under them place a rounded dialogue card reading: Mara: “The garden still has a little life left in it. Merge the tools and let's give this corner a fresh start.” The character name should be emphasized in rusty brown. Include a centered pill-shaped restoration button near the upper-middle, initially labeled “Fix the Bench (Costs 10 Restyle Points)”; once the bench is restored, change it to “Mend the Fountain (Costs 20 Points)”; after both repairs, change it to “Garden restored” and disable it. If the player lacks enough points, show a temporary dialogue message from Mara explaining the required cost.

At the bottom, place a large rounded translucent tan 6-by-6 puzzle board with 36 equal cells, six columns and six rows, cream semi-transparent rounded cell backgrounds, small gaps, and a soft shadow. Leave enough room above it for the landscape and HUD. Add a small bold instruction line immediately above the board: “Tap the toolbox to spawn • drag matching tools together to merge”. Put a clickable toolbox control centered over the board, styled as a dashed rounded rectangle occupying most of one cell, with a toolbox emoji/icon and the label “TOOLBOX.” Tapping/clicking the toolbox spends 1 energy and spawns a level-1 tool in the first empty board slot. If energy is zero, do not spawn and temporarily say “Mara: “We’re out of energy for now.””; if all 36 slots are occupied, temporarily say “Mara: “The board is full — merge a few tools first.”” Update the energy number and shrink the gold bar proportionally from 30.

The merge board must be fully playable by touch or mouse using drag-and-drop. A spawned level-1 item is a “Rusty Trowel,” shown as a gardening-tool emoji/icon on a rusty orange/gold gradient tile, with a visible “Lv.1” badge and name. The exact progression is: two matching level-1 Rusty Trowels merge into one level-2 “Clean Shovel” on the destination cell, shown on a green gradient tile with “Lv.2”; two matching level-2 Clean Shovels merge into one level-3 “Pruning Shears,” shown on a muted blue/lavender gradient tile with “Lv.3.” Only equal levels below level 3 can merge. Dragging an item onto an empty cell moves it there. Dropping it onto a different-level item, onto a level-3 item, or back onto its original cell does not create a merge; for an invalid combination, temporarily show “Mara: “Those tools don’t combine yet.”” When a level-3 Pruning Shears is created, award 10 Restyle Points, show a floating “+10 Points” animation above the board, and temporarily say “Mara: “Those shears are just what the garden needs!””

Restoration rules: the first bench repair costs 10 Restyle Points. On success subtract 10 points, advance the restoration stage, update the button and canvas, emit a brief burst of gold/green particles, and temporarily say “Mara: “The bench is ready for a new season.”” The second fountain repair costs 20 points and works the same way; subtract 20 points, advance to the final stage, show the animated fountain, and say “Mara: “The fountain is flowing again!”” Once stage 2 is reached, disable the restoration button. Keep all game state visible through the energy, points, board items, and restoration stage. Use rounded cards, emoji-like tool icons, soft shadows, cream backgrounds, sage greens, rusty oranges, golden accents, and an approachable cozy garden-restoration aesthetic. Do not add enemies, timers, lives, combat, inventory systems, or mechanics beyond this spawn/drag/merge/points/restoration loop.
