Make your own game

Neon Coil was built by Tech Noah with the Cinevva game creator: describe the game you want in chat, watch it get built, and play it in your browser minutes later.

Remix Neon Coil opens the real game in the creator and forks its actual files, chat and design doc, so you start from the code rather than from a description.

Read the build brief for Neon Coil

Cinevva's analyzer read this game's design doc and its source, then wrote the brief below. "Make your own" hands it to the game creator as your opening message, so you start from a real spec rather than a one-line idea.

Create a browser-based two-player competitive Snake game titled “Neon Coil.” Use a full-screen responsive HTML canvas with a fixed logical arena of 24 columns by 34 rows, centered on the screen. Scale the grid responsively so it fits within the viewport, leaving room for the HUD and bottom controls; keep the playfield dark and atmospheric rather than showing a solid bright board. Render a deep navy/black background with a subtle purple radial glow, a faint blue-purple grid, and a bright cyan glowing rectangular border around the arena.

At the top, place a centered HUD row of three dark translucent panels with thin cyan borders and cyan glow. Label them “SCORES,” “LENGTHS,” and “SPEED.” Show score as “P1 0 · P2 0,” the two snake lengths as “3 · 3,” and speed as “1.0x” at the beginning. Below the HUD, display the large uppercase title “NEON COIL” in hot pink/magenta, with wide letter spacing and a strong pink neon glow.

The game is a simultaneous two-player Snake arena. Player 1 starts as a three-cell hot-pink coil near the upper-left area, at cells (5,8), (4,8), (3,8), moving right. Player 2 starts as a three-cell cyan coil near the lower-right area, at cells (18,25), (19,25), (20,25), moving left. Draw each snake as a chain of glowing circular cells: Player 1 uses #ff4fd8 and Player 2 uses #00eaff. The head is bright yellow-white, with a small dark-purple directional eye/detail; body segments retain their player color and glow. Dead snakes remain visible but faded.

Place one collectible orb at a random unoccupied grid cell whenever a round begins and whenever it is eaten. Draw it as a pulsing yellow-white glowing circle. Although the game text may call them cyan orbs, the actual collectible is yellow (#fff06b). Each snake advances one grid cell at a time. Eating the orb adds 10 points to that player, grows the snake by one segment, and causes the orb to respawn at another unoccupied random cell. The movement interval begins at 150 milliseconds and decreases as the longest snake grows, using approximately 4.1 ms less per segment beyond length 3, with a minimum interval of 58 ms. Display the resulting multiplier as 150 divided by the current interval, formatted to one decimal place; thus the initial speed is 1.0x and eating increases speed.

The arena has hard walls: moving outside the 24x34 grid kills the snake. A snake also dies when its head hits its own body, the other living snake’s body, or when both living snakes’ next heads occupy the same cell. Process movement simultaneously so head-on crashes are resolved fairly. When fewer than two snakes remain alive, end the round and show a centered modal. If one survives, title it “[Player 1 or Player 2] wins!”; if both crash, title it “Double crash.” Include the final score text in the form “P1 [score] · P2 [score]. Eat cyan orbs and cut off your rival.” and change the button label to “Play Again.”

Before the first match, show a centered dark translucent instruction modal with a thin pink border, pink/cyan inner glow, heading “Two-player arena,” and text “P1: arrows · P2: WASD. Eat glowing orbs, grow longer, and outmaneuver the other coil.” Include a cyan outlined button labeled “Start Match.” Starting or restarting resets both snakes, scores, speed state, food, and pause/game-over state, then hides the modal. The modal should also be used for the game-over result.

Keyboard controls: Player 1 uses ArrowUp, ArrowDown, ArrowLeft, and ArrowRight. Player 2 uses W/A/S/D. Prevent immediate 180-degree reversals for either snake. Press Space to toggle pause while a match is active; paused gameplay stops movement while the canvas continues rendering. Add a small bottom-right hint reading “P1 ARROWS · P2 WASD · SPACE TO PAUSE.” At the bottom center, add touch-friendly four-button directional controls in a D-pad arrangement (up above, left/down/right below), with dark blue backgrounds, cyan borders, white arrow glyphs, and neon glow. These touch buttons control Player 1 only and should work through pointer/touch presses. Keep the visual style consistently neon arcade: dark navy/purple backdrop, cyan and hot-pink interface accents, glowing sprites, crisp sans-serif typography, responsive full-screen layout, and no extra enemies, power-ups, lives, levels, or weapons.
