Make your own game

Neon Coil was built by n82twu4xyj with the Cinevva game creator: describe the game you want in chat, watch it get built, and play it in your browser minutes later.

Remix Neon Coil opens the real game in the creator and forks its actual files, chat and design doc, so you start from the code rather than from a description.

Read the build brief for Neon Coil

Cinevva's analyzer read this game's design doc and its source, then wrote the brief below. "Make your own" hands it to the game creator as your opening message, so you start from a real spec rather than a one-line idea.

Create a browser-playable arcade game titled “Neon Coil,” a polished neon Snake-style game on a dark futuristic screen. Use a full-screen responsive canvas with a centered square playfield, approximately 24 by 24 cells, sized responsively up to about 760px. The surrounding background should be a deep navy/near-black radial gradient, brighter blue-purple near the center. Draw the square board as a dark translucent blue panel with a cyan glowing outer shadow and thin cyan outline; add a very subtle blue grid inside with evenly spaced cell lines. Keep the visual style minimal, glossy, and cyberpunk: cyan/teal glow for the snake and board, hot pink for food and accent text, and white highlights.

Gameplay: On the initial screen, show a centered rounded dark translucent modal panel over the board. It has a large glowing two-line title “NEON” / “COIL,” subtitle “Eat light. Grow fast. Don’t hit the wall.”, pink status text “Ready when you are.”, a bright cyan-to-pink gradient button labeled “START RUN,” and small instructions “Arrow keys / WASD to steer” and “Mobile: use the neon pad.” Start with a three-segment snake centered on the grid, moving right when the run begins. The player controls its direction using Arrow keys or WASD; prevent immediate 180-degree reversals. Touch/mobile users get a four-button directional pad (up, left, down, right) near the bottom center; hide that pad on wider desktop screens. A direction input before the run also starts it.

The snake advances in discrete grid steps, initially every 145ms (about 1.0x speed). It grows by one segment whenever its head enters the food, otherwise its tail is removed each step. Food is a pulsing hot-pink glowing circular light placed randomly on an unoccupied grid cell, with a small white specular dot. Eating food gives 10 points plus an additional 5 points for each completed group of five snake segments (score formula 10 + floor(length/5)*5, using the current length), increases the displayed speed based on length, capped at 3.2x, and makes the movement interval faster down to a minimum of 48ms. End the run if the head hits any board edge or collides with the snake’s body. On game over, stop movement, preserve/update a local high score, show the modal again with text like “Run ended — score X. Best Y.” and change the button to “RUN AGAIN.”

HUD: Across the top, center a responsive bar no wider than the board. At left show a rounded glassy label “NEON COIL” in cyan uppercase lettering. At right show three compact rounded stat cards labeled SCORE, LENGTH, and SPEED with the current values; initially 0, 3, and 1.0x. Use translucent navy backgrounds, subtle cyan borders, blur/glow effects, small spaced uppercase labels, and bright white values. Add a fixed rounded pause button at the bottom-right labeled with a pause glyph “Ⅱ.” Clicking it toggles pause/resume; while paused, show the modal with “Paused” and a “RESUME” action (or equivalent behavior), and dim the board slightly. The pause control should not do anything before a run starts.

Rendering details: snake segments should be rounded squares centered in cells, with the head slightly larger and brighter than the body. Give the head a cyan/teal glow, add a small white eye/highlight positioned toward its current travel direction, and use progressively subtle teal hues/glows down the body. Food should pulse in scale and glow. Ensure all canvas drawing is clipped to the board. Make the interface responsive to viewport size and safe-area insets, with touch-action disabled on the canvas and mobile controls. Keep the canvas behind the HTML HUD and modal, use accessible labels where appropriate, and maintain the clean single-screen composition shown: board centered vertically/horizontally with HUD above it and controls unobtrusively around it. Store the best score locally so it persists between runs.
