Make your own game

Fish Studios was built by Maura McVey with the Cinevva game creator: describe the game you want in chat, watch it get built, and play it in your browser minutes later.

Remix Fish Studios opens the real game in the creator and forks its actual files, chat and design doc, so you start from the code rather than from a description.

Read the build brief for Fish Studios

Cinevva's analyzer read this game's design doc and its source, then wrote the brief below. "Make your own" hands it to the game creator as your opening message, so you start from a real spec rather than a one-line idea.

Recreate a single-screen responsive web game catalog called “Fish Studios” / “Goolaplex Arcade,” not an individual action game. Use a dark ocean-night visual style: deep navy radial/linear gradient background, dark blue translucent panels with thin blue borders, rounded corners, soft shadows, bright aqua accents, muted blue-gray secondary text, and a yellow eyebrow label. The layout should fit the viewport without page scrolling on desktop and use a compact responsive mobile layout.

At the top, place a header with a glowing fish emoji 🐟 at left, then the aqua uppercase brand label “FISH STUDIOS” and large title “Goolaplex Arcade.” At right, include a dark rounded search input with placeholder “Search the ocean...” and a small “☼ Daily drop” pill (hide the pill on narrower screens). The main area has two bordered rounded panels. The left hero panel is titled “THE ENDLESS GAME SHELF,” with the large headline “Games for every kind of fish.” Below it show: “Fish Studios generates new worlds, challenges, and weird little adventures forever. Pick a game below — or dive into a random one.” Include the large aqua number “1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000” and the uppercase caption “POSSIBLE GAMES IN THE GOOLAPLEX.” Add subtle decorative aqua sparkle characters near the upper-right of the hero. At the bottom of this panel, provide a prominent aqua-to-mint gradient button labeled “🎲 Play a random game.”

The right panel is a catalog headed “Featured from the deep,” with a live counter at the right reading “8 games showing” initially. Under it provide pill-shaped filter buttons: All (active initially), Arcade, Chill, Puzzle, and Chaos. Below, show a two-column scrollable grid of rounded game cards. Each card has a large emoji/icon, an uppercase genre label, a title, a muted one-line description, and a small outlined aqua “Play →” button. Populate exactly these eight cards and metadata: Bubble Trouble Deluxe — Arcade — 🫧 — “Pop bubbles before they become a tide.”; Moonpool Mahjong — Puzzle — 🌙 — “Match glowing shells beneath the moon.”; Snack Attack — Chaos — 🍤 — “Eat everything. Avoid the angry crabs.”; Coral Dreamer — Chill — 🪸 — “Build a reef and watch it bloom.”; Submarine 99 — Arcade — 🚤 — “Dodge mines in the midnight trench.”; Tiny Kraken Cafe — Chill — ☕ — “Serve coffee to eight-legged regulars.”; Jellyfish Jigsaw — Puzzle — 🪼 — “Reassemble a drifting constellation.”; Eel Escape — Chaos — ⚡ — “Slide through the pipes. No turning back.” Use each card’s listed genre as its category and use distinct accent colors around aqua, purple, pink, orange, blue, yellow, pale pink, and bright yellow where appropriate.

Interaction must match the catalog behavior: typing in the search input filters cards live, case-insensitively, when the query matches either a game title or genre; update the counter to “N games showing.” Clicking a genre pill filters to that genre, updates the active pill styling, rerenders the grid, and updates the count. If no cards match, show “No games in this tide. Try another search.” Clicking any card’s Play button must not launch another game; instead show a temporary centered bottom toast saying “Launching [game name]... splash!” for about 1.8 seconds. Clicking the random button chooses a random game from the currently visible filtered/search results (or the first game if none are visible) and shows “Random dive: [game name]” in the same toast. Buttons should have hover/active styling, and cards should subtly lift on hover.

At the bottom, include a footer with “© Fish Studios · Goolaplex Games” where “Goolaplex Games” is aqua, and “New drops every splash” on the right. Desktop layout uses a header, a two-column main region with the hero narrower than the catalog, and footer; on screens below roughly 760px stack the hero and catalog vertically, allow the main content to scroll, keep a two-column card grid where possible, and collapse to one column below roughly 420px. Use accessible labels for the search input and clear readable system UI typography. There are no enemies, avatar controls, score, lives, physics, or gameplay scenes: the game is an interactive arcade browsing/catalog interface with filtering, search, random selection, and launch feedback.
