Make your own game

Driftcore Arena was built by Mksyml23 with the Cinevva game creator: describe the game you want in chat, watch it get built, and play it in your browser minutes later.

Remix Driftcore Arena opens the real game in the creator and forks its actual files, chat and design doc, so you start from the code rather than from a description.

Read the build brief for Driftcore Arena

Cinevva's analyzer read this game's design doc and its source, then wrote the brief below. "Make your own" hands it to the game creator as your opening message, so you start from a real spec rather than a one-line idea.

Create a playable browser game titled “Driftcore Arena.” Use a top-down 2D-feeling arena rendered with Three.js in an orthographic camera. The world should be a dark futuristic space with a subtle radial navy/purple background, a square grid floor, and a thin glowing violet rectangular border around the play area. Keep the camera centered on the player with gentle smoothing as the player moves, so the arena can drift slightly beneath the HUD.

The game loop is a 60-second run. Before starting, show a centered modal card reading “Driftcore,” with Dutch instructional copy explaining that the player collects “glowbits,” grows larger, and tries to reach the top while bots are already online. Highlight “glowbits” in mint/teal, and provide a bright mint “Start run” button. Also show the controls text “WASD / pijltjes om te bewegen · Shift = dash.” Hide this overlay once the run begins.

The player is a small bright mint/teal circular disk with a soft translucent mint glow around it. Place 42 small gold/yellow circular glowbits throughout the arena at random positions. The player collects a glowbit when close enough: hide it, add 10 score, and increase mass by 0.04 up to a maximum of 4.0; after about 650 ms, respawn the glowbit at another random arena position. The player starts at the center with score 0 and mass 1.0. Constrain the player inside the arena border. Movement should support WASD and arrow keys, with normalized diagonal movement. Normal speed is about 3.8 units/second, slightly scaling with mass; holding Shift activates a dash at about 6.5 units/second. On narrow/mobile screens, show a translucent circular virtual joystick at the lower left and use it for movement.

Populate the arena with six autonomous bot opponents, each represented by a small colored circular disk. Use varied visible colors such as pink, periwinkle blue, orange, purple, yellow, and cyan. Bots begin at random positions, have randomized mass from about 0.8 to 3.3 and randomized scores, and steer with simple smooth acceleration toward the nearest visible glowbit (occasionally choosing a new target). Bots also collect glowbits, gain 10 score, and gain 0.04 mass up to 4.0, with the same delayed random respawn behavior. Keep bots within the arena. When a bot contacts the player, resolve it by mass: if the bot is larger than the player, subtract 25 score (not below zero), reduce player mass by 0.2 but not below 0.65, and reset the player to the arena center; if the player is at least 0.25 mass larger, award 30 score, increase player mass by 0.15 up to 4.0, and teleport that bot to a new random position. Otherwise leave the encounter without a score change.

Add a fixed HUD over the canvas. At the upper left show the spaced brand “DRIFTCORE // ARENA” in lavender. At the upper right show compact dark translucent rounded pills labeled SCORE, MASS, and TIME, displaying the live integer score, one-decimal mass, and countdown seconds remaining (starting at 60). Beneath them on the right, show a dark translucent rounded “LIVE RANKING” panel with up to six rows sorted by score: YOU plus BOT 1 through BOT 6, showing rank, name, and score; highlight the YOU row in mint. Make the HUD polished with thin purple borders, soft shadows, rounded corners, and a neon arcade interface style.

When 60 seconds elapse, stop gameplay and show a centered “Run voorbij” game-over modal with “Je score: [final score]” and a bright mint “Opnieuw spelen” button. Restarting resets the timer, score, mass, player, bots, and glowbits. Store completed player scores in browser localStorage as a small local leaderboard of the best eight runs, while the live ranking during play remains the current YOU/bot ranking. Use responsive layout: on mobile reduce HUD sizing, keep the ranking panel usable, and display the joystick. Overall art direction: minimalist neon cyber-arena, very dark navy background, violet grid/border and interface, mint player and buttons, gold collectibles, and colorful circular bots; no weapons, text chat, extra levels, or invented systems.
