Bound by Wish was built by Damsel with the Cinevva game creator: describe the game you want in chat, watch it get built, and play it in your browser minutes later.
Remix Bound by Wish opens the real game in the creator and forks its actual files, chat and design doc, so you start from the code rather than from a description.
Cinevva's analyzer read this game's design doc and its source, then wrote the brief below. "Make your own" hands it to the game creator as your opening message, so you start from a real spec rather than a one-line idea.
Create a browser-based, choice-driven visual novel titled “Bound by Wish.” It is a single playable Chapter One about Riley Thompson, a thoughtful film student and oldest sibling who is exhausted from fixing, organizing, remembering, and carrying everyone else’s problems. Her wish for less pressure and less control begins turning ordinary college life into awkward, humbling chaos. The experience should be an interactive dialogue/story game rather than an action game: the player advances non-choice dialogue by clicking the dialogue/scene area or pressing Space/Enter, and selects from clearly presented choice buttons at decision points. Visual presentation: make it a full-viewport, responsive single-screen interface with a dark, atmospheric visual-novel style. Use layered radial-gradient backgrounds and scene-dependent color palettes rather than a literal explorable 3D world. The palette is deep purple, indigo, blue, muted green, mauve, and soft lavender, with translucent near-black panels, thin pale borders, rounded corners, backdrop blur, and soft shadows/glows. Use an elegant high-contrast serif display font similar to Cormorant Garamond for the title, speaker names, and headings, and a clean sans-serif similar to Inter for body text and controls. At the title screen, show a large centered glassy card reading “Bound by Wish,” with this subtitle: “An original visual novel about pressure, friendship, sisterhood, and what happens when Riley Thompson's wish for less control starts turning normal college life into awkward, humbling chaos.” Include a prominent pill-shaped “Begin Chapter One” button. After starting, show a top HUD with pill buttons for Journal, Relationships, and Restart, plus three stat chips labeled Balance, Trust, and Courage. All three begin at 0 and visibly update as choices are made. The main story area is anchored toward the bottom: show a small uppercase scene label, then a two-column story panel on wide screens. The left column is a portrait card using the supplied character SVG portraits when available: Riley (assets/portraits/riley.svg), Tara (assets/portraits/tara.svg), Rachel (assets/portraits/rachel.svg), Avanya (assets/portraits/avanya.svg), Professor Scarlett (assets/portraits/scarlett.svg), and Narration (assets/portraits/narration.svg). Overlay the portrait’s full name and a short character description at the bottom of the image. The right column is a large translucent dialogue box with a colored mood dot, speaker nameplate, readable story text, and either choice buttons or a subtle continue hint. On small/mobile screens, stack the portrait card above the dialogue box. Scene backgrounds should transition by setting: Dorm Lounge uses purple/mauve, Campus uses blue/gray, Orientation Quad uses green, Observatory uses deep starry indigo/blue, Black Box Theater uses dark plum/rose, and Evening Reflection/Journal Page uses slate blue. Use this exact narrative structure and writing. Begin in the Dorm Lounge with Riley saying: “When people need something fixed, organized, rewritten, remembered, or carried, they come to me first. I used to think that meant I was dependable. Lately it just feels like I forgot how to set anything down.” Tara replies with a playful promise of bad popcorn, a dramatic movie marathon, zero responsibility, and throwing Riley’s laptop out the window if she answers an email. Narration describes a ridiculous movie whose heroine stops trying to control every disaster; Riley laughs, then goes quiet. Add a Journal entry titled “Movie Night Stub,” memento “Ticket Stub,” explaining that Tara kept the film ticket and Riley notes the heroine looked terrified but relieved when she let someone help her. At the Dorm Window, Riley says: “I wish... just for a little while... life would stop asking me to hold everything together. I want to know who I am when I am not bracing for impact.” Offer two choices: “Say it like a joke” (deflect the feeling with humor), granting Courage +1 and leading to Tara’s onion-ring joke; or “Say it honestly” (let Tara hear how tired Riley really is), granting Trust +1 and Balance +1, setting a journal-honesty flag, and leading to Tara saying Riley does not have to be the emergency contact for the whole planet. Narration then describes a shooting star that briefly turns the dorm silver. Add “Silver Wish,” memento “Constellation Sketch,” about Riley sketching the star and feeling the night answered back. At Campus Morning/Campus Walkway, narration introduces a volunteer sign-up glitch, missing prop case, Rachel’s five panicked texts, and Riley sprinting with coffee and tape markers. Rachel explains that student activities locked the orientation supply cart because the setup looked hazardous; Avanya tried to charm them but may have challenged them. Riley reacts to the pressure. Offer: “Take over immediately” (push everyone into line before it gets worse), Courage +1 and Balance -1, leading to a slapstick scene where Riley tangles herself in yellow caution tape and nearly knocks over welcome bags; add journal entry “Caution Tape Disaster,” memento “Neon Tape Strip.” Or “Ask what everyone already tried” (slow down and let others contribute), Balance +2 and Trust +1, set an accepted-help flag, leading to narration that Avanya filmed a challenge video, Rachel argued with a safety monitor, and Tara negotiated a compromise; Riley still gets lightly wrapped in tape; add “Shared Mess,” memento “Orientation Wristband.” Avanya then jokes that she could escape faster for a challenge video but refuses to demonstrate in front of freshmen. Tara teases that Riley is finally not carrying everyone else because she is literally standing still. At this point offer: “Roll your eyes and laugh with them” (let embarrassment pass through), granting Balance +2 and Trust +1 and increasing Tara and Rachel relationship values by 1 each; or “Insist you are still in charge” (fight the moment and tighten back up), granting Courage +1 and Balance -1. Both lead to the Psychology Annex. Professor Scarlett says Riley looks like someone trying to supervise a storm by glaring at it, then says competence becomes a cage when Riley thinks it is the only reason people keep her close. Offer: “Ask her what the better question is” (Trust +1, Balance +1, Scarlett relationship +1) or “Brush it off and change the subject” (Courage +1). Both lead to a late-afternoon crossroads. At the crossroads, narration explains that Tara wants Riley to help salvage a chaotic student-film rehearsal while Rachel wants Riley at the observatory lawn, where Avanya is turning the orientation disaster into a fundraiser challenge. Offer: “Go with Tara to the theater rehearsal” (set a theater-path flag, increase Tara relationship +1, Courage +2), leading to Tara saying she needs Riley’s brain but not the stressed-out version, while actors improvise and props are wrong; add journal entry “Cue Sheet Margin Notes,” memento “Cue Sheet.” Riley admits she may keep life neat because she fears people will see the messy draft underneath. Or offer: “Meet Rachel and Avanya at the observatory lawn” (set an observatory-path flag, Rachel +1, Avanya +1, Trust +1, Balance +1). Rachel admits she panics but knows Riley always shows up exhausted, and asks Riley to stay because she wants to, not because she has to; add “Campus Star Map,” memento “Star Map Flyer.” Avanya explains that her challenge videos only look effortless because she trusts people behind the camera, and letting people catch you is the hard part. Both paths join at the finale. At Evening Reflection, Riley says: “Maybe the wish did not take my strength away. Maybe it keeps nudging me into moments where strength looks different from control.” Offer: “Write that you are learning to accept help” (Balance +2, Trust +1, set accepted-help flag) or “Write that you will face chaos head-on” (Courage +2). Then show Journal Page narration: “Riley closes the journal. Outside, campus hums on. Somewhere above the dorm roofs, the sky is clear enough for another wish.” Add “First Chapter Reflection,” memento “Pressed Moonflower,” saying balance may not mean holding everything; it may mean knowing when to open her hands. Mark the chapter complete and show an overlay card: “Chapter One Complete,” the final route name, and a restart button. Track relationship values for Tara, Rachel, Avanya, and Scarlett, beginning at Tara 1 and the others 0. Increase them at the narrative moments above and show them in the Relationships overlay as horizontal gradient meters and numeric values. The Journal overlay should list unlocked entries as cards with title, explanatory text, and a memento tag; before entries exist show an “Empty Page” message. Add a Reflection overlay with the current route, Balance/Trust/Courage totals, a short dynamic reflection, and collected mementos. Allow overlay tabs Journal, Relationships, Reflection, a close button, click-outside-to-close, and keyboard shortcuts J for Journal, R for Relationships, Escape to close. The overlay should blur/dim the story behind it. Determine the ending route from final stats: if Balance is tied for or greater than both Trust and Courage, show “Balanced Route” and the summary “Riley lets embarrassment soften into perspective. She is learning that losing control is not the same thing as losing herself.” Otherwise, if Trust is at least Courage, show “Open Heart Route” and the summary “Riley is choosing connection over performance. The wish is teaching her how to be seen without always being the rescuer.” Otherwise show “Defiant Route” and the summary “Riley still meets life with her shoulders squared. Growth comes through challenge, wit, and refusing to vanish inside discomfort.” The ending text must also mention either “Rachel and Avanya pull her toward trust and family” if the observatory path was chosen, or “Tara and the theater pull her toward creative risk” if the theater path was chosen, and conclude that balance is letting the right people stay beside Riley when she stumbles. Include restart behavior that returns all story, stats, relationships, journal, mementos, and flags to their initial values.
