Make your own game

Workshop Empire was built by hudson.hookdr with the Cinevva game creator: describe the game you want in chat, watch it get built, and play it in your browser minutes later.

Remix Workshop Empire opens the real game in the creator and forks its actual files, chat and design doc, so you start from the code rather than from a description.

Read the build brief for Workshop Empire

Cinevva's analyzer read this game's design doc and its source, then wrote the brief below. "Make your own" hands it to the game creator as your opening message, so you start from a real spec rather than a one-line idea.

Create a responsive single-screen 2D management/idle-style web game titled “Workshop Empire.” The player runs a tiny workshop and manually clicks activities to turn starting resources into a growing business. Use a dark navy, blue-gray interface with a subtle radial-gradient background, rounded bordered panels, soft shadows, white headings, muted blue-gray explanatory text, gold currency/stat values, green rewards, and blue progress accents. This is a UI-focused game rather than a character-controlled world: there is no visible avatar, map, or camera movement.

At the top, show the title “Workshop Empire” and subtitle “Turn a tiny workshop into a self-running business.” Put four resource cards in the header: Cash, Materials, Stock, and Reputation. Start the game with $35 cash, 6 materials, 0 stock, and 0 reputation. Each card has a large gold number and a small uppercase muted label. The source HTML also includes a fifth Rebirths card initialized to 0, although the game state does not define or update rebirths; reproduce it only as an inert 0 display if implementing the full layout.

The main area is a two-column layout on desktop and a stacked responsive layout on narrow screens. The large left panel is the workshop activity area. Start with heading “Your first workbench” and the description “Choose an activity. Every action earns progress, and new systems unlock as your workshop levels up.” On the right of this hero area display Level 1, “0 / 20 XP,” and a horizontal XP bar. Below it, show clickable activity cards in a two-column grid (one column on mobile). Each card has an emoji icon, title, description, and green reward line:
- Gather Materials, 🪵: “Search the yard for useful supplies.” Reward “+2 materials · +5 XP”. Clicking adds 2 materials, adds 5 XP, increments the gather milestone and total action count, and logs “You gathered 2 materials from the supply yard.” If Better Tools is owned, gathering instead adds 4 materials.
- Craft Goods, 🔧: “Turn materials into sellable products.” Reward “+1 stock · +8 XP”. Clicking consumes 2 materials and creates 1 stock, adds 8 XP, increments the craft milestone and action count. If Workshop Automation is owned, consume only 1 material. If Storage Rack is owned, there is a 30% random chance to create 2 stock instead of 1.
- Sell Stock, 🧺: “Make a sale and build reputation.” Reward “+
2 · +7 XP”. It requires at least 1 stock; otherwise log “Your shelves are empty. Craft something first.” A successful sale consumes 1 stock, gives
2, adds 1 reputation, and adds 7 XP. Street Seller adds $8 to the payout; Open a Storefront adds another
0; Local Marketing makes the reputation gain 2 instead of 1; Premium Brand doubles the final sale payout. - If Solar Generator has been bought, add Power Up, ☀️: “Harvest free energy from the roof.” Reward “+$4 · +3 XP”. Clicking gives $4 and 3 XP and logs the surplus-power message. - If Courier Bike has been bought, add Delivery Run, 🚲: “Rush a larger order across town.” Reward “High payout · +15 XP”. It requires at least 2 stock; otherwise log “You need 2 stock ready for a delivery run.” A successful run consumes 2 stock, pays $65 + (current level × $5), adds 3 reputation and 15 XP; Premium Brand doubles this payout. Under the activities, include a scrollable “WORKSHOP LOG” feed with the newest message first and retain/display up to eight messages. Begin with “Welcome to Workshop Empire. Gather materials, craft goods, and sell your stock.” Log level-ups, successful actions, and insufficient-resource messages in readable rows. The right panel is a tabbed management panel with tabs Upgrades, Projects, Goals, and Rebirth. Upgrades is active initially. Render a vertical upgrade tree where each item has a title, description, unlock tag, and purchase button. Buttons are disabled when already owned or when the level requirement is unmet. Buying subtracts cash, marks the upgrade owned, logs “Upgrade installed: …,” and updates the UI. The exact upgrades and effects are: - Better Tools — cost
5, level 1, “+2 materials whenever you gather.” - Storage Rack — cost $30, level 1, “Crafting has a 30% chance to create +1 extra stock.” - Street Seller — cost $40, level 1, “Selling goods earns +$8 and +1 reputation.” - Solar Generator — cost $75, level 2, “Unlocks the Power Up activity and +$4 passive income per action.” (The actual mechanics implement the Power Up activity; do not invent an automatic timer.) - Local Marketing — cost
10, level 3, “Selling gives +2 reputation and unlocks bigger contracts.” - Courier Bike — cost
60, level 4, “Unlocks Delivery Runs for high-value payouts.” - Workshop Automation — cost
40, level 5, “Crafting consumes 1 less material and can auto-produce stock.” (The implemented mechanics only reduce crafting cost; do not add an automatic timer.) - Premium Brand — cost $400, level 7, “All sell payouts are doubled.” Show an installed count such as “0/8 installed” and a tip explaining that three upgrades are available initially and new branches appear at levels 2, 3, 4, 5, and 7. The Projects tab contains three one-time permanent projects, each with a description, reward badge, and full-width button. Reinforce the Workbench costs 3 materials and grants 18 XP plus 15 reputation. Open a Storefront costs
20 cash and permanently adds
0 to each sale. Map the Delivery Route costs 4 stock and grants $90 plus 2 reputation. Completing a project marks it completed, disables its button, grants the specified reward, and also grants 18 XP for the bench project or 12 XP for the other projects. The project implementation uses 3 materials for the bench,
20 for storefront, and 4 materials for delivery’s purchase check despite the displayed description saying it spends 4 stock; preserve the actual playable behavior if reproducing the source exactly: Map the Delivery Route checks and subtracts 4 materials, then grants $90 and 2 reputation. The Goals tab shows a milestone count out of five and five progress rows: Gather 5 materials/actions, Craft 5 goods, Make 5 sales, Reach level 3, and Earn 10 reputation. Each shows current progress, a target, and either “In progress” or “Complete.” Use this leveling system exactly: XP starts at 0, level starts at 1, and the XP requirement is 20 + (level - 1) × 15. XP carries over after each level-up, and level-up messages go into the log. Level titles change to “The neighborhood knows your name” at level 3, and “A growing production house” at level 5. At level 4 and above, change the subtitle to “You now have enough momentum to choose your own business path — expand, automate, or chase premium clients.” Keep the controls as mouse/touch clickable HTML buttons; no keyboard controls are needed. The Rebirth tab exists visually but has no implemented content or mechanics in the supplied game, so it may open as an empty panel and should not invent a rebirth system.
