Make your own game

Voxel Statue was built by Dustin Schurf with the Cinevva game creator: describe the game you want in chat, watch it get built, and play it in your browser minutes later.

Remix Voxel Statue opens the real game in the creator and forks its actual files, chat and design doc, so you start from the code rather than from a description.

Read the build brief for Voxel Statue

Cinevva's analyzer read this game's design doc and its source, then wrote the brief below. "Make your own" hands it to the game creator as your opening message, so you start from a real spec rather than a one-line idea.

Create a browser-based 3D exploration game titled “Voxel Statue” using Three.js. The player controls a small blocky character in third-person view and walks around a large, stationary voxel-built guardian statue to inspect it; there is no combat, inventory, score, timer, enemy AI, or win sequence. The scene should open with the player at (0, 0, 12), on the front approach to the statue, and the statue should face toward negative Z. Use a perspective camera with a third-person follow/orbit setup, approximately 60-degree field of view and a follow distance around 8 units. Desktop controls: WASD or arrow keys to move, mouse to look/orbit, and Space to jump. On phones, provide an on-screen movement joystick and allow dragging to look. Include a “Reset view” button that returns the player to (0, 0, 12) and changes the bottom status message to “View reset — explore the statue”. While moving, show the status “Explore the statue — the glowing core marks the front”; initially show “Find the front of the statue”.

Build the environment from simple sharp-edged cubes with shadows. Use a bright sky-blue background (#8fc6e8) with matching distance fog, hemisphere lighting, and a strong warm directional sun casting soft shadows. The ground is a large 48-by-48 green grass block. Down the center, make a brown path made from repeated rectangular tiles running along Z from about +15 to -15, each tile approximately 3.2 wide, 1.2 deep, and slightly raised. At the center, construct a square pedestal: two stacked gray stone layers, the lower roughly 7 by 7 and the upper roughly 6.3 by 6.3, then a 5-by-5 field of very thin dark top tiles around y=2.55.

On the pedestal, model the guardian entirely from cuboid voxel pieces. Use a muted gray stone material, very dark blue-gray material for boots, hands, neck, and face plate, gold for armor accents and crown, cyan-blue emissive material for the glowing core and eyes, plus brown wood and blue banner cloth. The statue consists of: two dark boots at x=-1.25 and +1.25 around y=3.2; two stone legs at y=4.6; a broad stone torso centered around y=6.65, approximately 3.5 wide, 2.4 tall, and 1.8 deep; a thin gold chest plate on its negative-Z/front face and a small glowing cyan-blue square core protruding farther forward. Add gold shoulder blocks at x=-2.2 and +2.2 around y=7.15, stone upper/lower arm blocks on both sides, and dark hands around y=4.75. Add a dark neck, a large stone head around y=9.35, a dark face plate on its negative-Z face, and two small glowing blue rectangular eyes. Top the head with three gold crown blocks: a center block and lower left/right blocks.

Attach a rear banner: a thin brown vertical pole centered behind the statue at positive Z, a gold horizontal top bar, and a blue rectangular banner hanging from it. Add four decorative corner pillars at x/z combinations (-6.5,-6.5), (-6.5,6.5), (6.5,-6.5), (6.5,6.5); each is three stacked dark blocks with a gold cap. Place a small visible player avatar on the path: a blue rectangular body and gold cube head, positioned initially at z=12. Keep the style clean, low-poly/voxel, colorful but grounded in realistic lighting, with no textures beyond solid materials.

Overlay a dark translucent rounded HUD panel in the upper-left with the title “Voxel Statue”, descriptive text “Walk around the block-built guardian and inspect the details.”, control instructions for desktop and phone, and a purple badge reading “ORIGINAL VOXEL BUILD”. Put an orange rounded “Reset view” button in the upper-right. Put a small dark translucent pill status message centered near the bottom. Make the HUD responsive and ensure it does not block game controls except for the panel and button. Render with antialiasing, soft shadows, sRGB color, and filmic tone mapping.
