Make your own game

Tidepool Lanterns was built by Temurbek Bahramov with the Cinevva game creator: describe the game you want in chat, watch it get built, and play it in your browser minutes later.

Remix Tidepool Lanterns opens the real game in the creator and forks its actual files, chat and design doc, so you start from the code rather than from a description.

Read the build brief for Tidepool Lanterns

Cinevva's analyzer read this game's design doc and its source, then wrote the brief below. "Make your own" hands it to the game creator as your opening message, so you start from a real spec rather than a one-line idea.

Create a calm, low-poly 3D exploration game titled “Tidepool Lanterns.” Use a dark teal coastal/tide-flat setting viewed from a high, top-down third-person perspective with a perspective camera following the player at roughly 10 units distance. The world should be a broad flat, muted blue-gray shoreline plane surrounded by deep blue-green atmospheric fog, with soft lighting and shadows. Add several shallow, translucent turquoise tide pools with subtle teal emissive color: four pools should be placed around the area, including one to the left, one toward the upper/right area, one below the starting area, and a smaller one farther upper/left. Scatter many faceted, low-poly gray shoreline rocks around the scene, including a few larger imported-looking cliff rocks near the pools. Use a stylized, quiet, slightly dreamy visual treatment: low-poly geometry, dark teal background, soft shadows, cyan water, and warm glowing creatures as the visual focus.

The player is a small stylized photographer at the center/start of the tide flat. Build the avatar from simple low-poly geometry: a peach-colored capsule-like body/head, an orange coat or cone-shaped garment, and a small dark camera prop held/front-mounted. The player moves freely across the flat using WASD or arrow keys; there is no jumping. Movement should feel gentle and use a top-down follow camera.

Place exactly six collectible glowing tidepool creatures in the world, clustered near the tide pools at these approximate world positions relative to the starting point: (-5.2,-1.4), (-4.2,-0.4), (3.7,2.7), (4.5,3.4), (0.7,-4.0), and (-6.1,5.0). Each creature is a small bright emissive colored orb/core with one of several pastel colors (mint, lavender, pink, warm yellow, or pale blue), surrounded by a thin horizontal torus/ring and a smaller pale ring/feeler detail. They should gently bob vertically, slowly rotate, and have a softly pulsing glow. The six creatures are the only things to photograph.

The core goal is to wander close to all six glowing creatures and photograph them. Provide a large rounded “📷 Photograph” button at the lower right for pointer/touch input, and also allow the Space key to photograph. When photographing, find the nearest creature that has not already been photographed. If it is within 2.25 world units, count it as photographed, increment the photo counter, reduce/dim its glow and slightly shrink its core to show it has been captured, and show the toast message “A quiet glow, captured.” If the nearest uncaptured creature is farther than 2.25 but within 4.2 units, show “A little closer…” without counting it. Otherwise show “No glow in frame. Wander toward the pools.” Already photographed creatures should not be photographed again. There is no combat, timer, health, inventory, or jumping; the experience is about calm exploration and collecting all six photographs.

Overlay a fixed, translucent dark HUD with rounded cards and a subtle mint border. At the upper left display the title “TIDEPOOL LANTERNS” and subtitle “low tide · move softly · look closely.” At the upper right display “Photos 0” initially, updating as photographs are taken, and “Creatures 6.” Near the bottom center display the instruction “WASD / arrows to wander · Space or Photograph when a glow is nearby.” Keep the photograph button at the lower right with a pale mint background, dark text, rounded pill shape, and soft mint shadow. Toast notifications should appear near the top center in the same translucent card style and fade away after a short time. Make the layout responsive for narrow mobile screens, moving the hint upward so it does not overlap the button. Use a dark teal, quiet coastal color palette and preserve the uncluttered, contemplative atmosphere.
