Make your own game

Stillwater was built by Ningtam Niyon with the Cinevva game creator: describe the game you want in chat, watch it get built, and play it in your browser minutes later.

Remix Stillwater opens the real game in the creator and forks its actual files, chat and design doc, so you start from the code rather than from a description.

Read the build brief for Stillwater

Cinevva's analyzer read this game's design doc and its source, then wrote the brief below. "Make your own" hands it to the game creator as your opening message, so you start from a real spec rather than a one-line idea.

Create a calm, single-screen 3D fishing game titled “Stillwater,” viewed from a mostly fixed third-person/first-person-like camera at the end of a wooden dock looking out across a lake at sunset. Use a stylized low-poly aesthetic with soft cinematic lighting, simple blocky geometry, warm sunset colors, and subtle ambient motion.

Scene and camera: Render with a Three.js-style perspective camera positioned above and behind the dock, approximately at (0, 9.4, 15), looking toward the lake and distant horizon. Allow only a very subtle slow horizontal camera sway over time. The foreground is a broad wooden dock made of orange-brown planks, with a fishing rod visible near the right-front side, angled out over the water. Show the rod as a simple brown cylinder and draw a pale fishing line from its tip to the bobber. The player does not walk or directly move an avatar; the interaction is entirely through the fishing controls.

Environment: Fill most of the view with a quiet teal-blue lake, using a slightly reflective/rough water material and a very gentle vertical undulation. Surround the far lake with a broad muted green shore ring. Place a purple-pink sunset sky/horizon backdrop, with a large glowing peach sun low in the sky toward the left. Add scattered low-poly cube-like trees around the shore, with chunky dark brown trunks and squared olive-green foliage, plus a few simple low-poly rocks protruding around the lake. Include a small stylized cabin on the distant right shore: a warm brown rectangular body, dark faceted roof, chimney, porch, door, and glowing yellow window. A small stationary rowboat with a brown hull, light rim/seat, and two oars sits on the left side of the lake. Use warm directional sunset light, cool fill/rim light, soft shadows, fog, and gentle dusk color grading.

Fishing mechanic and goal: Start in an idle state with the bobber hidden and the status text “The lake is waiting.” The player presses “Cast line” to begin a cast. Disable Cast line and enable “Reel in”; show the glowing golden bobber floating at a fixed point out on the lake and render the line from the rod to it. Set the bobber to bob gently while waiting. After a random delay of about 2.2–5.0 seconds, change to a biting state: make the bobber dip and pulse more strongly, show the message “The bobber dipped! Reel now!”, and display a visible toast near the top reading “A fish is nibbling!”. The player must press “Reel in” while it is biting to successfully catch a fish. On success, hide the bobber, increment a fish catch counter, and show text in the form “You caught a golden perch! [number] fish in the creel.” Re-enable Cast line and disable Reel in. If the player reels too early while merely waiting, cancel the cast, hide the bobber, and show “Nothing this time — the lake goes still again.” Then restore the initial controls. The game has no combat, timer, movement, inventory beyond the catch count, or other fish species; the central goal is timing the reel after the bobber dips and accumulating golden perch catches.

HUD/UI: Overlay the 3D scene with a fixed interface. In the upper-left, show the large serif title “Stillwater” in warm white with a subtle shadow and the subtitle “A quiet evening on the lake.” At the bottom center, place a dark translucent navy rounded rectangular card with a thin warm border and soft shadow. Put the centered gold/cream status message at the top of the card. Beneath it, place two side-by-side large rounded buttons: a golden-yellow “Cast line” button and a pale blue-gray “Reel in” button. Disabled buttons should be visibly faded. At the bottom of the card show the small hint “Cast your line, then reel when the bobber dips.” During a bite, show the dark rounded notification pill near the upper center below the title area. Make the layout responsive, with the card constrained to roughly 430px wide and almost full width on small screens. Use an elegant Georgia-like serif font throughout, no debug overlays, and preserve the peaceful minimal presentation.
