Starwood Academy was built by Jayce Flournoy with the Cinevva game creator: describe the game you want in chat, watch it get built, and play it in your browser minutes later.
Remix Starwood Academy opens the real game in the creator and forks its actual files, chat and design doc, so you start from the code rather than from a description.
Cinevva's analyzer read this game's design doc and its source, then wrote the brief below. "Make your own" hands it to the game creator as your opening message, so you start from a real spec rather than a one-line idea.
Rebuild a responsive browser-based interactive fiction game titled “Starwood Academy: The Octavio Chronicles.” It is a choice-driven fantasy school story, not an action game: the player reads illustrated scene text and clicks choices to guide Octavio, a first-year wizard, through Starwood Academy and toward one of several endings. Layout and presentation: use a dark midnight-violet full-screen background with subtle repeating star dots and a centered responsive shell (approximately 980px wide, 760px tall on desktop). Arrange a header, a two-column main area, and a footer. The header is a translucent near-black purple rounded panel with a small circular gradient crest/icon containing a four-point sparkle, the title “Starwood Academy,” and subtitle “THE OCTAVIO CHRONICLES.” On desktop, the main area has a large illustrated scene panel on the left and a scrollable story panel on the right; on mobile stack the art above the story. Use elegant serif typography (Georgia-like), cream-white text, muted lavender secondary text, gold chapter labels/highlights, and rounded thin translucent borders. The art is entirely stylized CSS/vector-like 2D illustration on a violet-to-navy gradient. For the academy scenes show a glowing moon in the upper right, a silhouetted central tower with a pointed roof and several glowing gold windows, a dark foreground hill, floating sparkles, and two simplified students near the bottom: Octavio at left, with peach circular face, dark angular crown-like hair, blue/purple robe, and brown wand with a gold sparkle; Luna at right, with peach face, long/dark hair impression, pink-purple robe, and wand. Labels “Octavio” and “Luna” appear below them. Vary the scene background/props by scene: home uses a fireplace and desk, school uses an arch, lunch uses a table and plates, battle uses a glowing rotating spell ring and sparks, and study uses a floating book and quill. Add subtle floating/flickering/rotating animations. The scene caption is italic and placed along the bottom of the art panel. The story panel is a rounded translucent purple card with a chapter/section label, large title, multiline narrative text, and a bottom area of stacked full-width choice buttons. Choice buttons have purple/pink translucent gradients, rounded corners, cream text, optional smaller muted explanatory notes, and a gold border/hover lift on hover/focus. The footer shows “Story progress” with a purple-pink progress bar, helper text “Tap a choice to shape Octavio's path.” and a “Restart story” button. On the header show live stat pills for Bond, Shadow, and Friends; maintain additional hidden/internal values Enemies and Luna Trust. Implement the exact branching narrative structure and state mechanics. State starts at node introHouse with bond=0, shadow=0, friends=0, enemies=0, lunaTrust=0, empty power/wand, empty flags/history. Every clicked option applies its numeric effects, appends the current node to history, and moves to its next node. Progress is history length divided by 8, capped at 100%. Restart resets all state. At the opening cutscene: “The Last Morning at Home” describes rain, Octavio’s packed suitcase, spellbook, and gold-sealed Starwood letter; choice “Open the Starwood letter.” (+friends) goes to “The Road Through the Silver Pines,” then “Climb the hill toward Starwood Academy.” (+bond) goes to “The Gates of Starwood,” then “Follow Luna into the Hall of Wands.” (+bond, +2 Luna Trust) goes to wand selection. The player must type a custom wand power (max 32 characters; example placeholder “moonlight, healing, storm magic”), which is stored as power and wand (“[power] wand”), then show “A Power Answers” with the chosen power substituted into the text and a choice to enter school (+bond, +Luna Trust) leading into the main story. The main arrival node is “The Gate Beneath the Stars,” captioned “Two new students. One school full of secrets.” It describes iron gates, seven towers, Octavio’s crossed-out experiments, and Luna with silver charms braided into her hair. Offer three choices: introduce himself and walk together (+bond,+Luna Trust) to “Luna of the Silver Thread”; study the crest (+shadow) to “The Starwood Crest”; or ask if she knows the place (+Luna Trust) to “The Name in the Archive.” Continue the exact narrative network represented by these nodes and choices: - Luna of the Silver Thread: thank Luna/ask favorite class (+bond) -> lunch; ask why west corridor is forbidden (+Luna Trust) -> Luna past; invite her to lunch (+2 bond) -> lunch. - The Starwood Crest: ask Cassian about the scratched-out seventh star (+enemy,+shadow) -> duel/rival route; copy crest (+friend) -> study/library route; ask Luna what she knows (+2 Luna Trust) -> Luna past. - Inside Starwood / Moving Staircase: sit with Luna at lunch (+bond,+Luna Trust) -> lunch; study hall/map (+friend) -> study; follow red magic to dueling court (+shadow) -> battle. - Lunch: tell Luna he wants to protect people (+2 bond,+Luna Trust) -> study; ask Mira for a shortcut spell (+2 friends) -> study; tell Cassian he could beat him (+enemy,+shadow) -> battle. - Study Hall / Midnight Map: study symbol with Luna (+bond,+2 Luna Trust) -> Luna past; investigate footsteps (+shadow,+enemy) -> battle; show map to Mira and build a team (+2 friends) -> quiet scholar ending. - The Name in the Archive / Luna’s past: discover the STARWOOD INCIDENT file about Luna’s mother Elara Vale and the Hollow Door. Promise to help (+2 bond,+2 Luna Trust) -> Hollow Door; take forbidden file (+2 shadow) -> dark offer; tell teacher (+friend,+Luna Trust) -> professor. - First lessons “A Seat by the Window”: team with Luna/Mira (+bond,+2 friends) -> study; challenge Cassian (+2 enemies) -> battle; skip to greenhouse (+bond,+shadow) -> greenhouse. - Welcome Feast: hold Luna’s hand (+2 bond,+Luna Trust) -> lunch; follow voice into dark (+2 shadow) -> battle; get students safe (+2 friends) -> friends circle. - Greenhouse / Moonflowers: supportive response “You get to choose who you become.” (+2 bond,+2 Luna Trust) or “Let’s learn the truth together.” (+bond,+Luna Trust) -> archive; fear-as-useful (+2 shadow) -> dark offer. - Duel Beneath the Clocktower / rivals: lower wand and ask why Cassian is afraid (+friend,-enemy) -> professor; risky brilliant spell (+2 shadow,+enemy) -> dark offer; let Mira and Luna help (+2 friends) -> friends. - The Map in the Margins / hidden lessons: show Elara’s message to Luna (+2 bond,+2 Luna Trust) -> archive; share with Mira (+2 friends) -> friends; keep it and learn alone (+2 shadow) -> dark offer. - Spellcraft battle: shield everyone (+2 friends,+bond) -> Champion ending; strike back (+3 shadow,+enemy) -> dark offer; combine magic with Luna (+2 bond,+2 Luna Trust) -> Luna ending. - Constellation / friends circle: gather students and draw a circle; ask Luna to seal (+2 bond,+Luna Trust) -> Luna ending; share spell (+2 friends) -> friendship ending; step through door (+4 shadow) -> dark ending. - Hollow Door archive climax: stand with Luna and seal (+2 bond,+2 Luna Trust) -> romance/Luna ending; accept power (+4 shadow) -> dark ending; call friends (+3 friends,+Luna Trust) -> friendship ending. - Dark offer: tear invitation and find Luna (+bond,+2 Luna Trust) -> Luna ending; wear Umbral Circle mask (+4 shadow,+enemy) -> dark ending; expose the circle (+3 friends,+enemy) -> friendship ending. - Professor / Truth: ask Luna’s wishes (+2 bond,+2 Luna Trust) -> Luna ending; gather every student (+3 friends) -> friendship ending; study door alone (+3 shadow) -> dark ending. Create these endings with their exact thematic outcomes: (1) “Luna’s Choice” / “The Moonlit Promise,” romance ending: Octavio and Luna seal the Hollow Door by changing its story, restore Elara’s name, and leave the festival hand-in-hand. (2) “The Door Opens” / “The Umbral Crown,” dark ending: accept Hollow Door power, locked rooms open, Luna grieves, and the Umbral Circle bows. (3) “A New Kind of Magic” / “The Starwood Constellation,” friendship ending: Luna, Mira, Cassian, Professor Ilyra, and students combine magic, restore the truth, and form a student club. (4) “The Wizard Who Listened” / “The Quiet Star,” scholar ending: patiently decode the door and free Luna from suspicion. (5) “Champion of Starwood” / “The Starfire Duel,” battle ending: chosen wand power defeats the masked attacker without harm, Octavio is named youngest champion. Endings show a colored ending label and only a “Play again with a different path” button. Opening and all story text should feel like polished literary fantasy, with visible narrative details matching the described story. Include accessible buttons, keyboard focus states, scrolling story/choice areas, responsive mobile behavior, and a custom power input. Do not add combat systems, inventory, timers, or free-roaming movement: the actual game is a branching text adventure with animated decorative scene art and tracked relationship/morality-style counters.
