Read the build brief for Sonic Boss Battle Frenzy

Cinevva's analyzer read this game's design doc and its source, then wrote the brief below. "Make your own" hands it to the game creator as your opening message, so you start from a real spec rather than a one-line idea.

Create a fast-paced 3D boss-battle platformer titled “Sonic Boss Battle Frenzy,” built with an original colorful mascot-platformer presentation and simple placeholder 3D characters/props rather than imported franchise assets. Use a bright sky-blue background with light atmospheric fog, strong white hemisphere/sun lighting, soft shadows, and a third-person elevated perspective camera that looks down from behind and slightly to the side of the player. The camera should smoothly follow the player along the horizontal arena, keeping the green arena and hovering boss in view, with brief camera shake on impacts.

Build one long rectangular Green-Hill-inspired original arena: a wide grass-topped platform with a visible brown dirt base and alternating orange/brown checker tiles along the exposed edge. Add raised grass platforms on the left and right, low side walls, and three stylized palm trees made from brown tapered trunks and chunky green geometric leaves. The playable area is roughly 31 units wide and 9 units deep, with a narrow depth lane; raised platforms provide higher ground. Scatter many rotating golden ring collectibles across the floor in lines and staggered lanes, plus two elevated sinusoidal arcs and bonus clusters above the raised platforms. Rings should be collectible by proximity, increase the ring counter and score, and slowly respawn in random ground lanes when the field is depleted.

The player is a small rounded colorful speedster character made from simple spheres, cones, and boxes: a colored spherical body, white muzzle, tiny dark eyes, three rear quills/spikes, and two blocky red/pink/yellow shoes. Use the selected character’s color and accent; Tails and Nine additionally have multiple cone-like tails. Start the player near the far left of the arena. Support six selectable characters: Sonic (blue, fastest all-rounder), Tails (orange, double jump), Knuckles (red, slower but heavy boss damage), Amy (pink, quick bounce), Shadow (black with red accent, chaos dash), and Nine (yellow with cyan accent, tech hover). Character selection is available through the HUD dropdown and cycles with C. Their actual gameplay differences are movement speed, jump strength, dash strength, and the special double-jump/heavy-hit behavior described above.

The player can move left/right with A/D or the left/right arrows, move through the arena depth with W/S or up/down arrows, jump with Space, and perform a short fast horizontal spin-dash with Shift or K. The dash has a cooldown and creates a small colored burst. Clamp the player inside the arena boundaries. Use gravity, jumping, falling, raised-platform ground detection, bounce response, and mild body tilt/rotation based on movement. Tails can jump again in midair. Mobile players get six translucent circular touch buttons: left, right, forward, back, jump, and dash.

Place a large hovering boss toward the right side of the arena. The default boss is Buzz Bee: a stylized yellow bee with a horizontally stretched body, black bands, a head and eyes, translucent cyan wings that flap rapidly, and a glowing red core on its rear/right side as the dash weak point. Also support a boss selector with these 20 original variants: Eggbot-7, Buzz Bee, Crab Crusher, Aqua Serpent, Laser Mantis, Drill Mole, Storm Falcon, Mecha Shark, Flame Rhino, Frost Penguin, Thunder Tiger, Toxic Toad, Rocket Walrus, Crystal Spider, Magnet Monkey, Void Bat, Gold Golem, Plasma Eel, Chaos Hydra, and Final Egg Titan. Bee-type bosses use the bee-style body; pod-type bosses use a colored metallic hovering pod with a glass cockpit dome, glowing front weak core, side cannon arms, rear hover flame, and increasingly elaborate colored fins for later variants. Give them their listed colors/cores and increasing maximum health values, from 100 to 230 as specified by the variant list; preserve the recognizable core target for attacks.

The boss continuously hovers and moves side-to-side over the arena, with bee variants bobbing more actively. It fires projectiles aimed at the player. Bee bosses fire glowing honey spheres; from phase 2 they add another missile, and phase 3 adds a falling swarm from above. Pod bosses fire paired glowing orbs, changing to red capsule-like laser projectiles in phase 2, and add falling chaos orbs in phase 3. Projectiles arc/fall, rotate, disappear after a limited lifetime or leaving the arena, and damage the player on close contact.

Defeat the boss by either landing on its body from above while falling, which causes a bounce and deals stomp damage, or using the active spin-dash to strike the glowing weak core, which deals more damage. Boss hits create gold/red particle bursts, score, combo increases, knockback, and screen shake. Boss health has three phases: phase 1 at full health, phase 2 at 66% or less, and phase 3 at 33% or less, with prominent messages such as “Phase 2: honey missiles!” for Buzz Bee or generic laser/chaos-storm messages for other types. At zero health, label the boss “BOSS CLEAR,” launch it upward while rotating, trigger a large sequence of gold/red explosions, award a clear bonus plus a ring-based bonus, and display “Boss defeated! Zone clear!”

Rings are the player’s protection system. Start with 12 rings. On projectile/contact damage, if rings remain, spill up to 8 rings around the player, subtract score, knock the player back and upward, grant about 1.3 seconds of invulnerability with blinking visibility, and show an “Ouch! Lost X rings” message. If hit with no rings, end the run, show “No rings left!” and prompt for restart. Collecting rings awards 100 score each. Boss stomp and dash attacks award score multiplied by a combo that rises with successful attacks and resets when grounded. Include impact particles and concise arcade feedback throughout.

Use a fixed HUD over the canvas. At top left show a translucent dark-blue rounded panel with RINGS, SCORE, ZONE 1, and selected character. At top right show the boss name and PHASE, a white-bordered horizontal health bar with a red-to-yellow fill, a BOSS SELECT dropdown, and a PLAYER SELECT dropdown. Centered upper-screen messages show the title at startup, gameplay instructions, phase changes, damage, and victory. On desktop show a bottom help line listing movement, jump, dash, boss-select, player-select, and restart controls; on touch devices hide that line and show the touch controls. Include keyboard B to cycle bosses, C to cycle characters, and R to restart; restarting resets score/rings/position/boss health/projectiles/explosions and refills the ring field. Start with the message “Sonic Boss Battle Frenzy” and a smaller prompt to collect rings, dodge attacks, and dash into the boss.
