Make your own game

Neon Coil was built by awais with the Cinevva game creator: describe the game you want in chat, watch it get built, and play it in your browser minutes later.

Remix Neon Coil opens the real game in the creator and forks its actual files, chat and design doc, so you start from the code rather than from a description.

Read the build brief for Neon Coil

Cinevva's analyzer read this game's design doc and its source, then wrote the brief below. "Make your own" hands it to the game creator as your opening message, so you start from a real spec rather than a one-line idea.

Create a responsive browser game titled “Neon Coil,” a minimalist neon Snake-style arcade game. Use a full-screen dark navy/black app area with a subtle radial gradient glow centered around the upper-middle of the play area. Render the gameplay on a responsive canvas, with a centered 28-column by 20-row rectangular board, thin barely visible cyan grid lines, and a translucent near-black board fill. Keep the board sized to fit the available viewport with a small margin, and adapt to high-DPI screens.

The player controls a glowing segmented coil/snake on the grid. At the start of a run, place a three-segment horizontal snake at the center, moving right. The head is a rounded square glowing pale yellow/white, while the body segments are rounded squares in cyan/blue-green hues with neon glow. Place one energy orb at a random unoccupied grid cell. The orb is a small hot-pink/magenta glowing circle with a gentle pulsing size animation. The goal is to steer the coil into energy orbs: each orb increases the score by 1 and adds a segment because the snake’s tail is not removed on that movement. After eating an orb, immediately spawn another orb in a random cell that is not occupied by the snake. Emit a brief burst of small glowing particles at the orb location when collected.

Advance the snake one grid cell at a time. Begin at 150 ms per move (display speed 1.0x). Every collected orb increases speed, using a move interval of max(52 ms, 150 - score*4.2), and display speed as 150 divided by the interval, formatted to one decimal and suffixed with “x.” The run ends when the head leaves the 28x20 board or collides with any body segment other than the head. On game over, stop movement, show a pink particle burst, change the message to “The coil fizzled — press Restart and chase a new high score.” and change the button label to “Restart.” Include restart with the button, and allow the Space key to restart after game over.

Provide keyboard controls: W/A/S/D and Arrow Up/Left/Down/Right. Prevent direct reversal into the opposite direction. Include a start screen before play: the initial board remains visually understated behind the HUD, the message reads “Eat energy orbs. Grow longer. The coil accelerates with every bite.” and the prominent button says “Start Run.” A direction input while idle may also begin/reset a run. The start button initializes a fresh run.

Build the HUD as an overlay: upper-left “NEON COIL” in uppercase, widely spaced bold lettering with cyan glow; upper-right rounded translucent pills showing “SCORE 0,” “SPEED 1.0X,” and “BEST 0.” Keep the message centered near the bottom above the action button. Use a vivid pink-to-purple gradient rounded button with a magenta glow, uppercase bold lettering, and a small controls row below it showing W, A, S, D and “or Arrow Keys” in rounded dark keycaps with cyan borders. Store/display the best value using browser local storage under a Neon Coil best-score key, matching the simple HUD styling. Make the layout mobile responsive: on coarse pointers hide the keyboard row, show a translucent four-button directional pad near the lower-left with up/left/down/right arrow buttons, and move the bottom message upward to leave room for it. Use pointer/touch controls for the directional pad. Maintain the overall visual style as sparse, polished, futuristic neon UI with no additional enemies, walls, levels, powerups, sounds, or extra gameplay systems.
