Make your own game

Neon Coil was built by Caar Fytte with the Cinevva game creator: describe the game you want in chat, watch it get built, and play it in your browser minutes later.

Remix Neon Coil opens the real game in the creator and forks its actual files, chat and design doc, so you start from the code rather than from a description.

Read the build brief for Neon Coil

Cinevva's analyzer read this game's design doc and its source, then wrote the brief below. "Make your own" hands it to the game creator as your opening message, so you start from a real spec rather than a one-line idea.

Create a polished responsive browser game titled “Neon Coil,” a minimalist top-down neon Snake game played on a square-like 2D grid. Use a full-screen, dark arcade presentation with no camera movement: center a responsive grid within the viewport, with faint cyan grid lines over a deep navy/black radial-gradient background (#060716 at the edges, subtly lighter blue in the center). Keep the playfield within roughly 720px and leave room for the HUD; scale the cell size responsively so the grid is about 28 cells across when space allows, with a minimum cell size around 16px.

The player controls a glowing segmented snake. At the start of a run, place a three-segment horizontal snake at the center of the grid, moving right. The head is a bright white square with a strong glow; body segments are inset glowing squares cycling through cyan, magenta, yellow, and violet neon colors. Move one grid cell at a time at an initial interval of 150ms. The player must steer around the grid, collect the glowing yellow food spark, grow by one segment, and survive. On every food collected, increase the score by 1, place a new food spark at a random unoccupied cell, and accelerate the snake: movement interval is max(58ms, 150ms - score*5), with the HUD speed multiplier shown as 150 divided by the current interval (initially 1.0x). Do not allow an immediate 180-degree reversal. Colliding with the outer grid boundary or with any non-head segment ends the run. There are no enemies, weapons, lives, walls, levels, or other pickups.

Render the food as a small bright yellow circular spark centered in a cell, with a soft glow and slight pulsing radius animation. On collecting food, emit a brief burst of about 14 small glowing yellow particles. On death, emit a pink burst around the snake head. Particles should drift outward, fade quickly, and retain their neon-colored glow.

Add a fixed HUD over the playfield. At the upper left show the magenta, widely letter-spaced brand “NEON COIL” with a pink glow. At the upper right show “SCORE” and a large cyan score value, then a smaller “SPEED” line with a cyan multiplier such as “1.0x”; use bright pale text with cyan glow. At the bottom center show desktop instructions “ARROW KEYS / WASD · SWIPE OR TAP THE PAD.” On coarse/touch devices, replace that hint with a visible 3x3 directional pad near the bottom: up, left, down, and right buttons using cyan arrow glyphs, translucent dark-blue backgrounds, cyan borders, and neon styling; the corners remain empty.

Before play, show a centered translucent dark navy modal panel with a thin cyan border, subtle cyan/pink inner glow, and backdrop blur. It contains the large cyan glowing title “NEON COIL,” the message “Eat the sparks. Grow longer. Stay alive as the grid accelerates.” and a bright cyan “START RUN” button. Clicking the button starts/reset the run. While running, hide the panel. Accept keyboard Arrow keys and WASD, touch directional-pad presses, and swipe gestures on the canvas; Enter or Space should restart when not running. When the snake dies, stop movement and show the modal again with title “RUN OVER,” message “You reached [score] points. The grid moves faster every time you grow.” and button text “RESTART.”

Use a clean, high-contrast synthwave/neon visual style: cyan #47f7ff, pink #ff3cac, yellow #ffe66d, violet #8a7dff, white head, and nearly black navy background. Use square snake segments and thin grid lines rather than textured art. Make the interface responsive to mobile safe areas and ensure the game remains playable with the canvas filling the viewport.
