Make your own game

Map of Mystery was built by aysha alfarsi with the Cinevva game creator: describe the game you want in chat, watch it get built, and play it in your browser minutes later.

Remix Map of Mystery opens the real game in the creator and forks its actual files, chat and design doc, so you start from the code rather than from a description.

Read the build brief for Map of Mystery

Cinevva's analyzer read this game's design doc and its source, then wrote the brief below. "Make your own" hands it to the game creator as your opening message, so you start from a real spec rather than a one-line idea.

Recreate “Map of Mystery” as a browser-based 3D third-person exploration and quiz game. Use a Three.js-style scene with a bright turquoise sky/ocean background, light atmospheric fog, soft shadows, and a small circular tropical island. The island is a low, broad tan cylindrical rocky platform surrounded by a large flat blue ocean disk, with a smaller green meadow disk on top. Scatter stylized low-poly palm trees and chunky rocks around the island. Place a simple adventurer avatar near the southwest edge: a small blue capsule-shaped body with a gold/orange conical hat. The player is controlled from a third-person camera, with movement controls suitable for keyboard and touch/mobile (the visible UI includes a translucent circular touch control at bottom right); allow walking around the island and jumping, with gravity and a following camera.

The objective is to follow four gold flag markers in a fixed sequence, approaching each one to trigger a question. Markers should be small floating/animated signs made from a brown pole and yellow flag, and only the current and later markers should be visible as appropriate; the current marker gently bobs and scales. The four locations and exact quiz content are: (1) “Palm Bay” at approximately (-5, 0, 5): “A compass points north. If you turn right from north, which direction are you facing?” Answers “West”, “East”, “South”; East is correct. (2) “Whispering Stones” at (-1, 0, 1): “The map says: 3 shells + 2 shells. How many shells should you collect?” Answers “4”, “5”, “6”; 5 is correct. (3) “Parrot Perch” at (4, 0, -3): “Which clue is most useful for finding a hidden trail?” Answers “A fresh footprint”, “A cloud”, “A wave far away”; A fresh footprint is correct. (4) “Captain’s Cove” at (8, 0, -7): “The final clue says X marks the spot. What should you do?” Answers “Dig at the X”, “Swim away”, “Hide the map”; Dig at the X is correct.

When the player comes within roughly 1.55 world units of the current marker, pause movement and show a centered parchment-colored question panel with a dark brown thick border, rounded corners, title, question text, and stacked brown answer buttons. A wrong answer keeps the panel open and displays “Not quite — read the clue again.” in red. A correct answer marks that map dot green, displays “Correct! The next marker is waiting on the map.”, then closes the panel shortly afterward and advances to the next marker. Update the status text after each answer to tell the player to follow the next gold flag. After all four answers are correct, reveal a treasure chest at Captain’s Cove, stop normal exploration, and show a full-screen dark translucent victory overlay with a parchment card reading “Treasure Found!” and “You followed the map, solved every question, and opened the captain's chest.” Include an “Explore Again” button that reloads/restarts the game.

Build the HUD in a warm nautical parchment/adventure style. At top left show the uppercase title “MAP OF MYSTERY” in a Georgia-like serif font, pale cream/gold with a dark shadow. At top right show a 156px square treasure map panel: tan parchment background, thick brown rounded border and bottom shadow, dashed circular boundary, an olive-green island shape, a diagonal brown route, and four cream circular route dots outlined in dark brown; completed dots turn green. At bottom left show a dark translucent rounded status box with a gold border, cream serif text, initially “Follow the map. Find the first marker.” The question and victory dialogs use the same parchment, dark-brown, gold-accent visual language. Keep the presentation clean and uncluttered, with the 3D world visible behind the HUD and responsive sizing for desktop and mobile.
