Make your own game

The Journey of Jesus was built by Andrey Mozingo with the Cinevva game creator: describe the game you want in chat, watch it get built, and play it in your browser minutes later.

Remix The Journey of Jesus opens the real game in the creator and forks its actual files, chat and design doc, so you start from the code rather than from a description.

Read the build brief for The Journey of Jesus

Cinevva's analyzer read this game's design doc and its source, then wrote the brief below. "Make your own" hands it to the game creator as your opening message, so you start from a real spec rather than a one-line idea.

Create a browser-based 3D third-person walking pilgrimage game titled “The Journey of Jesus,” built with Three.js. The player controls a simple stylized pilgrim avatar: a small blue-clothed capsule-like body with a tan spherical head, walking along a straight tan dirt road through a green outdoor landscape. Use a third-person camera following behind the player, with mouse/touch dragging to look around. Support WASD or arrow keys to walk, Shift to run, and Space to jump; include gravity and allow movement over gentle slopes. The world is arranged linearly along the road, with the player starting near the Bethlehem end at z=8 and traveling forward toward decreasing z coordinates to reach the final hill at Golgotha.

Set the visual style as low-poly, readable, peaceful, and slightly cinematic: a large flat green ground plane, a narrow tan rectangular path, simple trees on both sides, soft shadows, atmospheric fog, and a changing pastel sky/background color for each chapter. Use warm directional sunlight plus cool ambient/fill lighting. The camera should show the avatar, road, landmarks, and distant fog, with no combat and no enemies.

Build five sequential story areas along the same road, each with a clear landmark and chapter text:
1. “Birth in Bethlehem” around the starting end: a simple tan/brown stable with a roof, a manger in front/inside, and a glowing golden star-shaped cross-like marker above it. Description: “Follow the star to the humble manger where Jesus was born.” Quote/message: “A child is born. Hope enters the world.”
2. “Hidden Years in Nazareth” around the next section: two simple pale village houses with darker roofs, plus surrounding trees. Description: “Walk through a quiet village inspired by Jesus’ childhood home.” Quote: “He grew in wisdom, stature, and favor.”
3. “Ministry in Galilee”: a blue rectangular lake beside/overlapping the path area, a small wooden fishing dock, and three small wooden boats. Description: “Cross the lakeside road where Jesus taught, healed, and called disciples.” Quote: “Come, follow me.”
4. “The Last Supper” in Jerusalem: a simple upper-room building with a roof and a long table, with several small cylindrical stools/seats arranged along it. Description: “Enter the upper room and remember the meal shared with the disciples.” Quote: “Love one another as I have loved you.”
5. “The Cross at Golgotha” at the end: a gray cone-shaped hill with three dark wooden crosses, the center cross larger and higher than the two side crosses. Keep this solemn and non-graphic. Description: “Climb the final hill. The story ends at the cross with a solemn moment of sacrifice.” Quote: “It is finished.” When the player travels beyond the final chapter to z less than -55, mark the journey finished and show: “The story reaches the cross at Golgotha. Take a quiet moment here.”

The game has a fixed HUD over the 3D scene. At top-left, show a dark translucent rounded card with gold uppercase title “THE JOURNEY OF JESUS” and a progress line such as “Chapter 1 of 5.” At top-right, show a matching card with the current chapter in gold and its short description. At the bottom center, show a small hint: “WASD / arrows to walk · Shift to run · Space to jump · drag to look.” Before play starts, show a centered pale-yellow rounded button labeled “Begin the journey”; clicking it (or pressing Enter/Space) hides the button, starts movement, and displays the introductory message “The journey begins in Bethlehem. Follow the road.” During chapter changes, briefly display each chapter’s quote near the bottom center. Update the chapter based on the player’s nearest landmark/position and change the scene background and fog color to match the chapter: blue-gray at Bethlehem, muted green at Nazareth, teal at Galilee, dusky blue-purple at Jerusalem, and dark slate at Golgotha. Use translucent dark navy HUD cards, subtle borders/shadows, rounded corners, cream/gold highlight text, and a calm devotional presentation. Do not add lives, weapons, enemies, collectible systems, dialogue choices, or extra objectives; the core goal is simply to walk the road through all five chapters and reach the cross.
