Iceland: Open Road was built by Adalsteinn Gudmundsson with the Cinevva game creator: describe the game you want in chat, watch it get built, and play it in your browser minutes later.
Remix Iceland: Open Road opens the real game in the creator and forks its actual files, chat and design doc, so you start from the code rather than from a description.
Cinevva's analyzer read this game's design doc and its source, then wrote the brief below. "Make your own" hands it to the game creator as your opening message, so you start from a real spec rather than a one-line idea.
Create a browser-playable 3D driving exploration game titled “ICELAND: OPEN ROAD.” Use a third-person Three.js-style scene with an optional driver/hood camera, a wide winding two-lane asphalt road crossing a sparse South Iceland volcanic landscape. The tone is quiet, realistic, atmospheric, and minimalist: no racing, missions, enemies, traffic, collectibles, or combat—just driving and exploring. Opening screen/UI: Before driving, show a dark translucent full-screen modal over the dim Iceland scene. Use a restrained modern sans-serif interface with pale gray-green text, thin translucent borders, rounded corners, generous spacing, and letter-spaced uppercase labels. Show the eyebrow “A SMALL SOUTH ICELAND VERTICAL SLICE,” the title “ICELAND: OPEN ROAD,” and subtitle “A quiet drive from black-sand coast to open volcanic valleys.” Provide a VEHICLE dropdown, a STARTING LOCATION dropdown, a large START DRIVING button, and a vehicle specification grid showing horsepower, drivetrain, weight, top speed, 0–100 km/h, and vehicle type. Include the hint “No races. No missions. Just weather, roads, and the long way around.” Starting locations must be: “Sólheimasandur · South Coast,” “Mýrdal Valley · Route 1,” and “Black Sand Coast · Dyrhólaey.” Offer these selectable vehicles, each with visibly different color/body style and handling/performance values reflected in the specs: 2008 Lexus IS 250 (204 hp, RWD, 1,625 kg, 230 km/h, 8.1 s, luxury sports sedan); Toyota Land Cruiser 200 (268 hp, 4WD, 2,580 kg, 210 km/h, 9.2 s, heavy 4x4 SUV); Land Rover Defender 110 (296 hp, 4WD, 2,180 kg, 191 km/h, 8.0 s, off-road SUV); Porsche 911 GT3 (500 hp, RWD, 1,435 kg, 318 km/h, 3.4 s, track sports car); Ferrari 488 GTB (661 hp, RWD, 1,470 kg, 330 km/h, 3.0 s, mid-engine supercar); Lamborghini Huracán (602 hp, AWD, 1,422 kg, 325 km/h, 3.2 s, all-wheel supercar); Koenigsegg Jesko (1,280 hp, RWD, 1,420 kg, 480 km/h, 2.6 s, hypercar); Mercedes-AMG C 63 (503 hp, RWD, 1,785 kg, 290 km/h, 4.0 s, performance sedan); BMW M3 E46 (333 hp, RWD, 1,570 kg, 250 km/h, 5.2 s, classic sports sedan); and Subaru Impreza WRX STI (305 hp, AWD, 1,540 kg, 255 km/h, 5.2 s, rally performance sedan). Use simple low-poly/kit-style car models if needed, with each model recolored to its listed muted body color. World and road: Build a long procedural Route 1-like track extending through the landscape, with strong lateral curves and rolling elevation. The road is approximately 9 units wide, dark rough asphalt, with pale solid edge lines and intermittent warm pale-yellow center lane dashes. Add gravel shoulders. Surround it with a large moss-covered gray-green lava field/ground plane, scattered irregular dark basalt outcrops, low wire fences, and many small white roadside reflector posts with red caps. Add distant dark blue-gray volcanic mountain walls/conical formations. Toward the far end include a black-sand beach/coast and a broad muted blue-gray Atlantic water plane. Include a glacial stream crossing near the middle and a simple dark bridge aligned across the road. Keep the road readable and the landscape sparse, with no buildings or other vehicles. Use atmospheric exponential fog, cool overcast daylight, soft shadows, physically based rough materials, subdued Icelandic colors, and a cinematic but uncluttered composition. Driving mechanics: Start the selected vehicle at the selected road segment, aligned with the road direction, at 0 km/h. Use WASD or arrow keys: W/Up accelerates, S/Down brakes/reverses, A/Left and D/Right steer, and Space applies a strong handbrake. Implement momentum, rolling resistance, braking, vehicle-specific acceleration/top-speed, mass-dependent lateral response, grip, steering rate, and reduced grip on rain. Allow modest off-road movement but gently pull the car back toward the nearest road center and reduce speed when it strays too far beyond the road width. Visually tilt the car slightly with lateral slide and road undulation. Press R to reset to the current start location. There is no finish state or score. In-game HUD: Overlay a fixed minimal HUD without blocking the world. Upper-left show “ICELAND: OPEN ROAD.” Upper-right show live speed in km/h and a changing region label based on travel position: “SOUTH COAST · SÓLHEIMASANDUR,” then “MÝRDAL VALLEY · ROUTE 1,” then “DYRHÓLAEY · BLACK SAND COAST.” Bottom-left show a translucent DRIVE panel with “WASD / ARROWS · SPACE HANDBRAKE,” plus “C CAMERA,” “R reset,” “M minimap,” and “ESC pause.” Bottom-right provide three weather buttons: CLEAR, RAIN, and MIST, with the active one highlighted. Weather: CLEAR is the default cool gray-blue overcast. RAIN should darken/desaturate the background and road, make the asphalt wetter and more reflective/less rough, reduce grip slightly, and display a localized field of falling rain particles around the vehicle. MIST should increase fog density, shift the atmosphere toward pale gray-green, and show a translucent horizontal mist layer in the valley. Transition weather smoothly. Do not add any other weather modes. Camera and utility controls: C toggles between a high chase camera behind the vehicle (showing the car, road, shoulders, and landscape) and a low driver/hood camera close to the vehicle looking ahead. The chase camera should smoothly follow and look down the road; the driver camera should sit just above/in front of the car. M toggles a circular minimap at the upper-right: dark background, pale winding track line, centered pale vehicle dot and heading indicator. ESC pauses/unpauses and shows the pause/menu overlay if the game has started. On mobile, show simple touch controls: left/right circular steering buttons and a BRAKE button. Ensure the game begins rendered behind the menu, and after START DRIVING the modal disappears and the selected car can be driven immediately.
