How to play

Click the game above and it runs right here in your browser. No download, no installer, no account needed. Renato Wcesari built it with Cinevva, so it works on a phone or a tablet too.

Make your own game

Homebound was built by Renato Wcesari with the Cinevva game creator: describe the game you want in chat, watch it get built, and play it in your browser minutes later.

Remix Homebound opens the real game in the creator and forks its actual files, chat and design doc, so you start from the code rather than from a description.

Read the build brief for Homebound

Cinevva's analyzer read this game's design doc and its source, then wrote the brief below. "Make your own" hands it to the game creator as your opening message, so you start from a real spec rather than a one-line idea.

Create a playable third-person 3D domestic-life simulation slice titled “Homebound.” The setting is a warm, stylized low-poly open-plan home viewed from behind and slightly above the player, with a perspective follow camera. Use soft shadows, ambient occlusion-like shading, a pale blue-gray sky/background with light fog, warm directional sunlight, and simple chunky geometric furniture and walls.

Build a roughly 22-by-15 unit home floor with brown wood/tan flooring and low enclosing walls. Include simple room dividers with open door gaps: a living room toward the west/left, bedroom toward the northwest, kitchen toward the east/southeast, and bathroom toward the northeast. Add a burgundy living-room rug, a blue-gray bedroom rug, a dark flat-screen TV on a wooden console, a wooden coffee table, a sofa, a large bed, kitchen cabinets, a kitchen island, a bathroom sink, and a glassy bathtub. Keep the geometry clean and uncluttered, matching the visible blocky, toy-like aesthetic.

The player is a simple capsule-like humanoid avatar: a rounded dark blue body with a spherical peach/orange head and no visible facial features. Start the player near the southwest/living-room side of the house, around (-8, 0, 5.4). Let the player move freely around the home using WASD or arrow keys, with a third-person follow camera, movement speed around 3.5, gravity, and Space to jump. The camera should remain centered on and follow the player at about 6.4 units distance.

Add a second character named Maya using a stylized casual woman humanoid model. Maya should have skeletal animations including idle, walk, interact, and wave. She follows an automatic repeating domestic routine through these waypoints, moving at about 1.05 units/second and pausing at each location: first watch TV near (-6.5, 0, 1.8) for 6 seconds with an idle animation; then make tea near (6.0, 0, 4.2) for 4 seconds with an interaction animation; then get ready for bed near (-6.3, 0, -4.6) for 4 seconds while idle; then sleep near (-7.2, 0, -5.6) for 8 seconds while idle; then freshen up near (7.8, 0, -5.3) for 4 seconds with an interaction animation, repeating forever. Maya begins around (-6.5, 0, 1.0). When she is moving, play her walk animation and rotate her toward her travel direction; when stopped, play the relevant idle or interaction animation. If the player is nearby, have Maya face the player while they move.

Implement proximity conversation rather than combat or scoring. When the player comes within about 3.4 units of Maya, show a prominent “Talk to Maya” button at the lower-right; hide it when they move away. Activating it cycles through these exact dialogue lines, shown briefly in a bottom-center rounded toast: “Hey, you are home.”, “I was just making tea. Want to sit with me?”, “I like having you around.”, and “I am going to finish my little routine.” On interaction, set the status to “Maya is talking with you” and play Maya’s wave animation. There are no enemies, health, inventory, timer, or win/lose state.

Create a fixed translucent dark HUD panel in the upper-left with rounded corners and a subtle border/shadow. It must display the title “Homebound,” the subtitle “A small domestic-life simulation slice,” and a live warm-gold status line such as “Maya is watching TV,” “Maya is making tea,” “Maya is getting ready for bed,” “Maya is sleeping,” or “Maya is freshening up,” updated to match her current routine. Include a small hint reading “WASD / arrows to move · Space to jump · walk close to Maya and tap Talk.” On small screens, make the panel responsive and hide the hint. Use a warm cream/gold Talk button and a dark rounded dialogue toast near the bottom center. The overall presentation should feel like a compact, atmospheric interactive slice of ordinary home life, with no menus beyond this HUD and no debug overlays.
