Make your own game

Hodgkin VR was built by Luiz Arthur with the Cinevva game creator: describe the game you want in chat, watch it get built, and play it in your browser minutes later.

Remix Hodgkin VR opens the real game in the creator and forks its actual files, chat and design doc, so you start from the code rather than from a description.

Read the build brief for Hodgkin VR

Cinevva's analyzer read this game's design doc and its source, then wrote the brief below. "Make your own" hands it to the game creator as your opening message, so you start from a real spec rather than a one-line idea.

Create a browser-playable educational first-person 3D/VR exploration game titled “Hodgkin VR,” with the visible branding “DOROTHY HODGKIN VR · MOLECULAR DISCOVERY.” Use Three.js or an equivalent WebGL engine with WebXR support and an immersive-mode VR button. The game takes place in a dark futuristic molecular-crystallography laboratory: deep navy/black background and fog, a large enclosed rectangular room with a dark blue floor, three visible walls, cyan ceiling light strips, cool blue/violet ambient lighting, emissive holographic elements, and a high-tech science-exhibition atmosphere. Add a few decorative props around the room: a large diffractometer-like machine near the back-left, a wireless/hologram console near the back-right, a large crystal sample near the right side, floating cyan octahedral data shards arranged around the lab, and a glowing archive plaque on the back wall. These are environmental decoration rather than separate mechanics.

Begin with a full-screen intro overlay over the lab. It should be a translucent, rounded rectangular dark-blue glass panel with cyan border/glow. Show the kicker “AN EDUCATIONAL VR ADVENTURE,” a large two-line heading “Dorothy Hodgkin” and bright cyan “Molecular Discovery,” and explanatory text: “Step into a futuristic crystallography lab. Investigate penicillin, vitamin B12, insulin, and the X-ray methods that revealed their hidden structures — then unlock Dorothy Hodgkin's Nobel Prize exhibition.” Include a primary cyan button “Enter the laboratory” and a secondary outlined “How to play” button. The How to play action reveals text explaining that the player walks with WASD or an on-screen joystick, looks with mouse or drag, approaches glowing stations, clicks/taps their crystals, and makes three discoveries per mission. Keep the intro visible until Enter the laboratory is pressed.

After starting, use a first-person player/camera at roughly eye height in the lab. Desktop controls are WASD movement, mouse look, and Space to jump; support touch/joystick-style movement where available and allow VR headset immersive mode. Put a small title at the upper-left and a control hint at upper-right reading “Desktop: WASD + mouse look · Space to jump” and “VR headset: enter immersive mode.”

Place five molecular investigation stations around the room. Each station is a dark blue rectangular pedestal/base with a glowing colored torus ring, a translucent cyan holographic cylindrical display, and a floating/emissive stylized molecule made from colored spheres connected by thin cylindrical bonds. The station molecules should visibly rotate, with the current mission’s molecule rotating faster and bobbing gently. Station locations and content are:
1. Penicillin at the left-front/back area, with a small simplified bonded molecular structure and cyan accent. Mission description: “Rotate the model and identify the strained beta-lactam ring — a key clue in Hodgkin’s structure determination.”
2. Vitamin B12 near the center, with a cobalt-centered-looking simplified radial structure, pink accent. Description: “Reconstruct the cobalt-centered corrin ring. Each glowing atom reveals a part of this famously complex molecule.”
3. Insulin on the right, with a simplified branching protein-fold structure and yellow/gold accent. Description: “Explore a simplified protein fold and learn why three-dimensional structure matters for human biology.”
4. X-ray Crystallography toward the rear-left, with a small simple molecule and violet accent. Description: “Activate the diffractometer and match the diffraction pattern to the correct molecular model.”
5. The Nobel Prize toward the rear-right, with a simple molecule and warm pale-yellow accent. Description: “You have assembled the story. Enter the historical exhibition and celebrate Dorothy Hodgkin’s 1964 Nobel Prize in Chemistry.”

Only the current mission’s station and stations from earlier missions should be visible/active; later stations remain hidden until unlocked. The mission HUD is a translucent dark glass panel at upper-left below the title. It displays “Mission N / 5,” the mission title, the current description, a horizontal cyan-to-violet progress bar, “0 / 3 discoveries,” and a disabled “Next mission” button. After entering the lab, show Mission 1 / 5 and the Penicillin objective. The player must click/tap the glowing molecular station (raycast from the screen pointer into the 3D world) to record a discovery; only the current mission’s station responds. The implementation should not require three distinct hidden objects: each successful interaction increments the discovery counter, and the station can be clicked once per mission/state. When the station is discovered, enlarge its molecule slightly, intensify the emissive glow of its atoms/bonds, and show a bottom-center toast such as “[station]: discovery recorded.” To match the existing progression behavior, allow the player to complete the three-discovery requirement through three successful interaction states on the current station, then show “Mission complete — continue to the next station,” fill the progress bar, and enable Next mission. Reset the counter when advancing, unlock/show the next station, and show a toast such as “Mission N unlocked.”

The Next mission button must remain disabled until 3 / 3 discoveries. For missions 1–4 it advances to the next station. On mission 5, label it “Exhibition complete”; when the final requirement is met and it is pressed, show a toast stating “Exhibition unlocked: Dorothy Hodgkin, Nobel Prize in Chemistry, 1964.” Do not add combat, enemies, health, inventory, timers, or unrelated objectives. The visual style should remain polished and minimal: dark navy laboratory geometry, cyan/blue emissive holograms, pink/gold/violet station accents, soft fog, shadows, glassmorphism HUD panels, rounded borders, and educational exhibition presentation. Include short-lived translucent bottom-center toast notifications for discovery and progression feedback.
