Make your own game

Heartbound was built by Alexsei Volkov with the Cinevva game creator: describe the game you want in chat, watch it get built, and play it in your browser minutes later.

Remix Heartbound opens the real game in the creator and forks its actual files, chat and design doc, so you start from the code rather than from a description.

Read the build brief for Heartbound

Cinevva's analyzer read this game's design doc and its source, then wrote the brief below. "Make your own" hands it to the game creator as your opening message, so you start from a real spec rather than a one-line idea.

Recreate “Heartbound” as a polished, responsive web-based character creator and interactive relationship-story experience. Use a soft pastel romantic UI: full-screen background with a diagonal blush-pink to pale-lavender gradient, dark plum text, warm off-white translucent panels with rounded 22px corners, subtle borders and soft shadows. Add a top bar with the lowercase brand “heartbound” (the “heart” portion dark and “bound” rose-colored) and a step label that initially says “Create yourself.”

The initial layout is a three-column desktop interface: a left scrollable customization panel, a central large avatar preview, and a right story panel that starts hidden. On narrower screens collapse to two columns with the story below, and on phones use a vertical layout with the avatar preview near the top. The preview is a Three.js-style 3D scene on a pale pink background with soft hemisphere and directional lighting, slight fog, and a gently oscillating avatar rotation. Show a simple low-poly/capsule character facing the camera: rounded torso/shirt, spherical head and neck, half-dome hair cap, tiny colored eyes, tiny nose and curved smile, rounded arms/hands, dark rounded hips/legs/shoes. Put a translucent cream overlay at the bottom of the preview showing the current name, a line like “They/them · open to a mix,” and a mint pill badge saying “Human” or “[ears] demihuman.”

The left creator panel must provide these exact interactive sections and defaults. “Your name” is a text field defaulting to Alex, maximum 18 characters. “Identity” has selectable button choices: gender Woman, Man, Nonbinary, Agender, Genderfluid, Questioning; pronouns She/her, He/him, They/them, Any, She/they, He/they. Default identity is Nonbinary and They/them. “Who do you want to meet?” has Men, Women, Nonbinary, A mix, Everyone, No preference; default A mix. “Face & body” has skin choices Warm, Olive, Deep, Porcelain, Golden, Umber; eye choices Hazel, Blue, Green, Gray, Violet, Amber; hair choices Rose, Midnight, Gold, Seafoam, Silver, Chestnut, Plum. Defaults are Warm skin, Hazel eyes, Rose hair. “Demihuman traits” has Human, Cat, Fox, Bunny, Deer, Wolf, Bear, Dragon, Raccoon, default Human. Active choices are rose-colored filled pills/buttons; inactive choices are white with a faint mauve border.

Add “Shape sliders” for Height (range .82–1.18, default 1.00), Build (.78–1.25, default 1.00), Shoulders (.82–1.22, default 1.00), and Leg length (.85–1.18, default 1.00), with step .01 and visible numeric values. Apply these values directly to the avatar: height scales vertical placement and body proportions, build affects torso/limb width, shoulders changes arm spacing and torso width, and leg length changes the legs. Map the palette selections to visibly different skin, iris, and hair colors. Human has no ears; each other trait adds two pointed cone ears above the head, with appropriate distinct colors. Deer and Dragon also add two small horn cones. Keep the stylized geometry and neutral standing pose shown in the preview. The avatar’s name and pronoun/preference summary update live as the user edits.

The primary dark plum button at the bottom says “Enter the story.” Clicking it hides the creator panel, reveals the story panel, changes the top step label to “Choose your connection,” and displays a cast-selection screen. Show the heading “Choose someone to meet,” supporting text “Every route has dozens of moments, callbacks, and different outcomes.” and a small “8 characters” label. Render an 8-card, two-column cast grid. Each card has a simple portrait made from a gradient background, a rounded peach face, and a hair shape, plus the character’s name, personality tag, and description. The exact cast is: Mira — “gentle” — “Patient botanist who notices the little things.”; Rowan — “rough around the edges” — “Guarded musician with a soft spot for honesty.”; Sable — “gentle” — “Curious archivist who loves impossible questions.”; Jules — “rough around the edges” — “Competitive chef who respects brave choices.”; Aster — “gentle” — “Sunny courier who collects stories from every district.”; Noor — “rough around the edges” — “Sharp-eyed artist learning how to trust people.”; Pax — “gentle” — “A soft-spoken mechanic who builds tiny robots.”; Vesper — “rough around the edges” — “A mysterious astronomer who hates small talk.” Cards should hover with a slight lift and rose border.

Selecting a cast member starts the conversation route at Moment 1 with affinity 0. The story screen has a route heading with the selected name, the personality tag, the current location, and “Moment N.” Include pill chips for relationship state: initially “New connection,” changing to “Growing closer” once affinity is at least 3; and a rotating status chip alternating between “Learning about each other” and “Shared a laugh.” Show a horizontal progress meter, initially 0%, calculated as turn/12 up to 100%. Display one scene at a time, with four white response buttons and a small “Choose someone else” secondary button.

Implement these exact eight scenes in order, looping back to the first after the eighth: (1) “the conservatory” — “You find [name] beneath the glass roof of the old conservatory.” Options: Offer a warm introduction; Ask what brought them here; Make a playful joke; Give them a little space. (2) “the night market” — “[name] pauses beside a stall of glowing paper birds.” Options: Buy one for them; Ask about their favorite food; Challenge them to pick a mystery snack; Tell them what caught your eye. (3) “the rooftop garden” — “Wind moves through the rooftop garden while [name] watches the city.” Options: Share a personal story; Ask about their biggest dream; Point out a constellation; Suggest a quiet companionable silence. (4) “the old arcade” — “[name] hands you a token at the old arcade.” Options: Pick a cooperative game; Choose the hardest machine; Let them win once; Tell them your strategy. (5) “the rain station” — “Rain drums on the glass roof as [name] waits beside you.” Options: Offer your umbrella; Ask if they want company; Make a joke about the weather; Listen without interrupting. (6) “the bookshop” — “[name] reaches for the same book you do in the quiet bookshop.” Options: Recommend another title; Ask what they like to read; Read the first page aloud; Trade favorite quotes. (7) “the festival square” — “Music rises from the festival square and [name] smiles.” Options: Invite them to dance; Find the best view; Try a festival game; Take a commemorative photo. (8) “the train platform” — “The last train is late. [name] taps their foot beside you.” Options: Plan a future day together; Ask where they would travel; Share a hopeful secret; Stay until the train arrives.

When a response is clicked, advance to the next moment and add 1 affinity only for the first or third option (indices 0 and 2); the second and fourth choices add no affinity. Re-render the next scene, update the progress and chips, and preserve the selected character. The “Choose someone else” button returns to the eight-card cast screen and resets the new route’s turn and affinity when another character is chosen. Keep the experience focused on customization, readable choices, gentle relationship progression, and the soft inclusive pastel aesthetic shown by the reference.”,
