Make your own game

Glowcoil was built by Mahfuj Hasan with the Cinevva game creator: describe the game you want in chat, watch it get built, and play it in your browser minutes later.

Remix Glowcoil opens the real game in the creator and forks its actual files, chat and design doc, so you start from the code rather than from a description.

Cinevva's analyzer read this game's design doc and its source, then wrote the brief below. "Make your own" hands it to the game creator as your opening message, so you start from a real spec rather than a one-line idea.

Create a polished 2D browser game titled “Glowcoil,” an arcade Snake game played on a fixed rectangular grid. Use a full-screen responsive canvas with a dark neon sci-fi aesthetic: the page background is a deep navy/near-black radial gradient, brightest around the upper-middle and fading to #05040f at the edges. Center a 26-column by 20-row playfield; scale its cells responsively so the board fits within roughly the viewport width minus 28px and viewport height minus 190px, with a minimum cell size around 12px. The board is a very dark blue-black rounded rectangle with a subtle cyan outer glow and rounded corners, containing thin, low-opacity indigo grid lines at every cell boundary. Keep the playfield centered, with a small vertical offset downward.

Core gameplay: start with a three-segment snake centered in the grid, initially moving right. The head is at the center, with two body segments trailing left. Place one glowing food orb at a random unoccupied grid cell. On each movement tick, advance the snake one cell in its current direction. The player must collect food, grow longer, and avoid the outer walls and its own body. If the next cell is outside the 26x20 grid or overlaps any body segment other than the head, immediately end the run. Eating food awards 10 points, leaves the body one segment longer, respawns the food randomly on a free cell, and increases movement speed based on length: speed multiplier is 1 + snake length × 0.055. Begin at 1.0x; movement interval is approximately 0.16 seconds divided by the speed multiplier, with a minimum interval of 0.055 seconds. Do not wrap around screen edges.

Render the food as a small hot-pink/magenta circular orb centered in its cell, pulsing in size over time and emitting a strong pink glow. Render each snake segment as a glowing rounded square inset a few pixels inside its grid cell. The body should be a luminous cyan/teal gradient-like sequence, with older segments shifting toward green/teal; use progressively varied hues from approximately cyan (around hue 166) toward greener tones down the body. Give body segments a cyan glow. Make the head a bright yellow-lime rounded square with a stronger yellow glow, and add one small dark eye/dot positioned toward the front according to the current direction (right, left, up, or down), so the head visibly faces travel direction. Preserve crisp grid alignment while using soft neon shadows.

Interface: overlay a fixed HUD above the canvas. At the top center within a width of about 760px, show the brand “GLOWCOIL” in uppercase with wide letter spacing, bold white text and a faint purple glow. To its right, show two dark translucent, purple-outlined pill counters: “SCORE” with the current numeric score (starting at 0), and “SPEED” with the current multiplier formatted like “1.0x.” The HUD should not block playfield input.

Before a run begins, show a centered modal card over the game: a rounded dark translucent navy/purple panel with a thin cyan border, inner purple tint, and neon glow. Display a large white “GLOWCOIL” heading with cyan and purple text shadows, the subtitle “Grow longer. Move faster. Don't hit the walls.”, a bright cyan-to-lime pill button labeled “Start run,” and the hint “Arrow keys / WASD · swipe or tap the pad.” Hide this card when Start run is pressed. On collision, stop movement and show the same overlay card with heading “CRASHED,” subtitle formatted as “Score [score] · length [length],” and button text “Run it back.” Pressing that button resets the score, speed, length, direction, and snake to the initial three-segment state and starts a new run. Also allow Space or Enter to start/restart when not running.

Controls must support Arrow keys and WASD, plus touch-friendly on-screen directional controls at the bottom center: four dark translucent buttons arranged as a D-pad (up above, left/down/right below) with cyan borders and arrow glyphs. On desktop these controls may be subdued/partly transparent, while remaining usable. Support swipe gestures on the canvas: horizontal swipes turn left/right and vertical swipes turn up/down; ignore tiny taps. Prevent reversing directly into the opposite direction. Ensure touch input does not scroll the page. Use a responsive full-viewport layout with hidden overflow, dark color scheme, accessible button labels/aria description, and no extra game systems, enemies, lives, weapons, levels, or powerups beyond this single-run Snake loop.
