Dustline was built by Kenrick Ballantyne with the Cinevva game creator: describe the game you want in chat, watch it get built, and play it in your browser minutes later.
Remix Dustline opens the real game in the creator and forks its actual files, chat and design doc, so you start from the code rather than from a description.
Cinevva's analyzer read this game's design doc and its source, then wrote the brief below. "Make your own" hands it to the game creator as your opening message, so you start from a real spec rather than a one-line idea.
Recreate “Dustline” as a playable browser-based 3D open-world combat quest game set in a small low-poly suburban district and surrounding green outskirts. Use a Three.js-like real-time 3D scene with a bright blue-to-pale sky dome, light atmospheric fog, directional sunlight and warm streetlamp lighting. Use stylized Kenney-like blocky character, suburban building, tree, and pistol assets where available, with simple colored geometric fallbacks. The player is a blue-tinted blocky humanoid who starts at the south side of the central town with 100 health, $0 cash, and only Fists equipped. WORLD AND CAMERA: Build a bounded square district approximately 116 by 116 world units. Put a safe town hub at the center, with a north-south road and an east-west road, grass ground around them, suburban houses/buildings, trees around the edges, and streetlamps along the town streets. Place the town hall near the center, Kade’s gun shop on the west side near (-14,-5), the shooting-range hut and range pad to the east/northeast around (18,-18), and Brakk’s arena hut and circular arena pad with a glowing orange ring around (20,22). Add additional houses around town and a small weapon display inside/near the gun shop. Keep the central town safe from ordinary raiders. Provide both an over-the-shoulder third-person chase camera and a first-person camera. Start in third person; Q toggles modes. Third person follows behind and slightly above the player with a shoulder offset. First person sits at eye height, uses the player’s aim direction, and supports mouse-look after pointer lock. Show a crosshair only in first person. MOVEMENT AND CONTROLS: Support WASD and arrow keys for movement relative to the player’s yaw, Shift for sprinting, Space for jumping with gravity, mouse click or F for attacking, E for interaction, Q for first/third-person toggle, H to hide/show the HUD, and number keys 1–4 to equip owned weapons (1 Fists, 2 Pistol, 3 Shotgun, 4 Rifle). Clicking in first person should request pointer lock and also attack. Prevent movement and combat while the shop is open. Keep the player inside the world bounds and prevent movement through buildings, trees, and lamps. COMBAT, WEAPONS, AND ECONOMY: Fists are melee-only: 26 damage, 0.55-second cooldown, and 2.2-unit range. Attacks hit a nearby target in front of the player. Ranged attacks spawn visible glowing projectile spheres traveling along the aim direction. The Pistol does 28 damage every 0.32 seconds with 26-unit range; it costs20. The Shotgun costs $300, has a 0.85-second cooldown, fires five pellets with spread, each doing 18 damage within 18 units. The Rifle costs $450, has a 0.16-second cooldown, does 20 damage with 34-unit range. The player can buy each gun once from Kade and equip owned guns later; purchased guns persist through death/respawn. Defeated raiders drop a small floating/rotating green cash pickup worth a random8–$42, which the player collects by walking within 1.5 units; drops expire after 18 seconds. Display short on-screen messages such as hits, misses, purchases, pickups, quest updates, and damage. NPCS AND HOSTILES: Populate the town with wandering civilians and three wandering blue-tinted cops. Civilians have 42 HP and become aggressive if attacked; cops have 72 HP and react whenever wanted level is above zero. Attacking a civilian raises wanted level by one and makes cops aggressive; attacking a cop raises it by two, and killing one raises it further. Wanted level ranges from 0 to 5 and is shown as CLEAR or gold star icons. Aggressive civilians can melee attack for 6 damage. A cop who reaches the wanted player arrests them: reset wanted to zero, teleport the player back to town, remove $60 (not below zero), reduce health by 10 but not below 35, and calm cops. Spawn six red-tinted roaming raiders in the outskirts at positions around the outer edges (roughly x/z ±34–41). Raiders have 58 HP, chase the player outside the safe town when nearby, wander otherwise, avoid the safe town, and deal 9 melee damage about once per second. Defeated raiders respawn after about seven seconds; arena raiders respawn faster. The HUD should show the number of living raiders. NPC INTERACTIONS AND QUESTS: Put a yellow hovering/bobbing ring marker at each important NPC and allow interaction when the player is within about 3.4 units. Marshal Rook is near the town center at about (2.2,4.5). Press E near him to discover and start “Outskirts Cleanup,” requiring the player to defeat 4 raiders. Once complete, return to Rook and press E to claim40; before completion, talking to him repeats that the player should keep working. Ivy is at about (18,-15). E starts “Target Rush,” spawns five red circular shooting targets on stands in the range around (13–23,-25 to -30), and requires shooting all five. Once all are hit, return to Ivy to claim90. Brakk is at about (20,17). E starts “Arena Hold,” which activates the circular arena and requires surviving 25 seconds. While active, spawn an arena raider about every 3.1 seconds from points around the arena; arena raiders can attack inside town rules. After 25 seconds, return to Brakk to claim80. Quests are not shown before discovery: the Jobs & Challenges panel initially says no jobs accepted and directs the player to Rook, Ivy, or Brakk. Once discovered, show each quest’s status (active, complete, or claimed), progress/target, quest giver, description, and reward. Completing an objective changes it to complete but requires returning to its giver to receive money. HUD AND MENUS: Overlay a responsive dark translucent glass-style HUD over the 3D view. The upper-left/top panel is titled “Dustline” and describes the open-world quest district with combat, cash, and gun upgrades. Show stat cards for Health, Cash, Weapon, camera Mode (3rd/1st), and Raiders. Put a Jobs & Challenges panel on the opposite side with discovered quest cards. Show Wanted in a separate panel at the upper right. Show a centered temporary rounded message pill for feedback and a bottom control hint panel. Include a Hide UI/Show UI button; hiding removes the main HUD and wanted display but keeps the toggle accessible. Near an NPC, replace the hint with “Press E” and the NPC’s purpose. Near Kade, open a modal “Kade’s Gun Shop” with Buy/Equip buttons for Pistol, Shotgun, and Rifle, prices, descriptions, and Close button. If health reaches zero, pause gameplay and display a “You got dropped” modal with a Respawn button; respawn at town with full health while retaining money and guns and resetting wanted. Use rounded panels, muted blue-gray text, mint-green accent buttons, gold for money/wanted/markers, and red/orange accents for danger and enemies. ANIMATION AND PRESENTATION: Animate blocky humanoid idle, walk, sprint/jump, melee attack, and shooting clips when the loaded character asset supports them. Make NPC markers hover and rotate slightly, cash drops bob and rotate, projectiles glow, and the arena ring emit a warm orange glow. Use soft shadows, fog, low-poly geometry, and a colorful readable arcade-western/suburban visual style. Expose game-state access equivalent to getGameState/setGameState for player position, health, money, weapon, camera mode, enemy counts, wanted level, nearby NPC, arena/range activity, quest snapshots, weapon unlock/equip, shop opening, and respawn control.More free browser games
