Make your own game

Coilwood was built by Rodrigo Pereira with the Cinevva game creator: describe the game you want in chat, watch it get built, and play it in your browser minutes later.

Remix Coilwood opens the real game in the creator and forks its actual files, chat and design doc, so you start from the code rather than from a description.

Read the build brief for Coilwood

Cinevva's analyzer read this game's design doc and its source, then wrote the brief below. "Make your own" hands it to the game creator as your opening message, so you start from a real spec rather than a one-line idea.

Create a first-person 3D exploration game titled "Coilwood" set in a stylized low-poly jungle. Use a dark green jungle floor extending across a large open area, scattered with roughly 70 simple fern/plant props made from short green stems and faceted cone-like leaves. Add atmospheric fog, soft shadows, a warm directional sun, cool ambient/rim lighting, and a day/night cycle: the game starts in daylight/dawn, later shifts to a darker blue-toned night, with reduced sun and ambient intensity and darker fog.

The player is an invisible first-person explorer starting near the front of the scene at approximately (0, 1.1, 16), facing into the jungle. Provide FPS controls: mouse look with pointer lock, WASD-style movement, and jumping with gravity. Show a tiny pale circular reticle at the center of the screen. The main distant landmark is an ancient listening tree positioned deep ahead around z=-13: use a large stylized low-poly tree with a substantial trunk and broad branches/canopy, scaled noticeably larger than the surrounding plants.

Place a striking serpent guardian in the jungle around z=-8. Build it visibly from a long spiral/coiling chain of about 22 overlapping green rounded segments, tapering slightly, rising into a tall neck and distinct rounded head. Give it dark forest-green material with subtle emissive shading, a pair of small glowing golden-orange eyes, and gentle idle swaying/bobbing animation. The guardian should feel like a large jungle entity rather than a conventional enemy; there is no attack or combat system.

Core interaction: the player explores toward the listening tree. When the player comes within 7 world units of the serpent, set the guardian to "watching" and repeatedly show a bottom-center narrative prompt such as: "A calm voice reaches you through the leaves. Keep your eyes on the path — or press F to focus." While noticed, slowly drain a focus value. Pressing F steadies the player's focus and restores it in increments; pressing Escape also gives a smaller focus increase. Away from the guardian, focus gradually recovers. When focus is low while the guardian is watching, enter a trance effect: overlay the view with a translucent green radial vignette and repeating circular rings, subtly wobble the camera roll and vary the field of view. Remove the effect as focus recovers. Include the initial guidance message after starting: "The jungle listens. Walk toward the tall tree." Messages should fade in/out at the bottom of the screen.

Start with a centered modal overlay before gameplay begins. It should have a nearly black translucent green panel with a thin green border and rounded corners, the title "Coilwood", the description "Explore the jungle. Find the ancient tree. Keep your focus when the serpent guardian notices you.", and a bright lime-green button labeled "Enter the jungle". Clicking it hides the modal and begins the FPS experience, requesting pointer lock. The persistent HUD should have "COILWOOD" in uppercase at top-left with spaced lettering, and beneath it a status line that changes between "Day • Find the listening tree", "Day • The guardian is watching", "Night • Find the listening tree", and "Night • The guardian is watching" based on the day/night phase and whether the serpent has been encountered. Use clean system UI typography, pale green text, dark translucent panels, and lime-green controls. Keep the camera and scene presentation close to the supplied screenshot: the giant coiled green serpent/tree silhouette dominates the dark jungle view, with minimal HUD and moody cinematic lighting. Do not add weapons, health, score, inventory, dialogue choices, or other mechanics not described here.
