Make your own game

Christina Chronicles was built by Cristi o with the Cinevva game creator: describe the game you want in chat, watch it get built, and play it in your browser minutes later.

Remix Christina Chronicles opens the real game in the creator and forks its actual files, chat and design doc, so you start from the code rather than from a description.

Cinevva's analyzer read this game's design doc and its source, then wrote the brief below. "Make your own" hands it to the game creator as your opening message, so you start from a real spec rather than a one-line idea.

Recreate “Christina Chronicles: Around the World in 1700 Stages” as a polished, story-driven match-3 travel adventure web game. Use a responsive desktop/mobile layout with a warm cream paper background, dark evergreen/teal typography, muted gold accents, elegant serif display headings, and editorial travel-journal styling. The interface should feel like an illustrated passport, scrapbook, and premium travel magazine rather than a conventional arcade game.

Core premise and presentation: Christina is a brown-haired traveler/photographer wearing a colorful headband, carrying a camera. She receives a mysterious letter from her friend Eleanor asking her to find “The Atlas of Unfinished Journeys,” a book missing from every catalogue. Christina travels around the world following clues and helping a local character at each destination. The journey has exactly 1,700 numbered stages arranged into 100 chapters/destinations, beginning at The Airport (stages 1–9), then England, the Americas, Africa, Europe, Asia, and finally Home (stage 1700). The supplied story data should drive chapter names, countries, local characters, missing keepsakes/items, hooks, humorous quips, and visual themes. Important story milestones include finding the atlas around stage 1500 and returning it to Eleanor near the end, followed by the Seoul Airport and Home chapters.

Start screen/home: Build a large hero panel with a photographic/illustrated travel collage or the supplied Christina/reference artwork. Show the eyebrow “A WORLD OF STORIES. ONE EXTRAORDINARY JOURNEY.”, the title “Around the World in 1700 Stages,” subtitle text about a mysterious letter and missing book, and a prominent “Begin your journey” or “Continue your journey” button. Show the next chapter and stage range. Add collection links for Stamp Album, SelfBook, and Comic Book. Header branding should read “THE CHRISTINA CHRONICLES” with “Around the World in 1700 Stages” beneath it, plus a compass-like emblem. Include a top-right five-heart lives indicator and circular profile button. Navigation includes Home, World map, Stamp Album, SelfBook, Comic Book, Shop, and Leaderboard. Footer indicates progress is saved on this device and includes a sound toggle.

On first play, ask for a traveler name (3–20 letters/numbers/spaces/underscore); the player plays as Christina but chooses the profile name. Persist all progress locally. Start with five lives; failed stages consume a life, and one life regenerates every hour up to five. If no lives remain, show a recharge dialog while still allowing the player to inspect books and the map. Chapters/stages unlock in order, although completed or future map chapters can be inspected in practice/preview mode.

Story flow: When entering the first stage of a new chapter, show a modal comic-like story introduction before gameplay. Use four panels: an opening welcome/clue, the local character’s missing item/quest, Christina’s humorous quip, and a transition to the next destination. Each panel has an image, speech-style headline, and caption. The first chapter introduces Eleanor’s letter, Christina packing, the England flight, and Mara needing help finding a boarding pass at the airport. Use supplied themed artwork where available: airport, Christina portrait, destination backgrounds, comic pages, and concept art. Never make the story modal purely text; it should look like a small illustrated comic/story book.

Main gameplay: Each stage is an 8×8 match-3 board of six themed collectible symbols. Themes change by chapter: travel symbols such as suitcase, airplane, camera, compass, ticket, and book; stone, desert, cave, forest, water, museum, and home variants use appropriate emoji-like or illustrated symbols. The player clicks/taps one tile and an adjacent tile to swap them. A swap is valid only if it creates a line of at least three matching pieces or a 2×2 square of four. Invalid swaps return to the original board and show a hint such as “Try a line of three or a square of four.” After a match, pieces disappear, score points, columns collapse downward, and new pieces fall in from above. Resolve cascades automatically with a short animation and show “Cascade ×N!” or the number of pieces collected.

Stages have move-limited goals and occasional timed finales. Display the current stage/chapter, score, remaining moves or countdown, objective icons/counts, and controls for hint, shuffle, and hammer where applicable. Objective types should include collecting particular tile colors/types and clearing goals; the final two stages of each chapter are explicitly harder and the chapter’s final stage is timed. Winning a stage advances highest-stage progress, unlocks the next stage/chapter, awards the destination stamp/character memory when the chapter is cleared, and shows a completion modal. Add a completion bonus based on unused moves (250 points per unused move) and maintain best score per stage. Losing offers retry/recharge behavior. Make the board tactile, readable, and accessible with clear tile labels.

Special match bonuses: Matching five in a row creates a “Color compass”/rainbow bonus that can be activated and then paired with any tile to clear every tile of that color. A line of four creates a horizontal or vertical flare that clears its row or column. A 2×2 square creates a “Flying keepsake”/bird bonus that targets and clears another tile. Show bonus emblems directly on the board and explain them in a gameplay note: “Match 5: color compass · Square of 4: flying keepsake · Line of 4: flare.” Bonuses can cascade and chain, with animated flying-target effects for the bird bonus. Include shuffle and hammer interactions and preserve unfinished active-stage attempts locally.

World Map: Create a searchable, filterable atlas page titled “The world is your story.” Show the travel route and 100 destination/chapter cards in a grid or book layout, with chapter number, destination, country, stage range, artwork, and status: stamp collected, journey continues, preview, locked, or complete earlier stages. Search by destination/country/stage and filter by country/region. Clicking a chapter opens a detail modal with its artwork, hook, local character’s quest, final-stage number, and buttons for individual stages. Clearly distinguish unlocked playable stages from preview chapters.

Collections: Implement three persistent travel books. 1) Stamp Album: one stamp for every completed destination, with destination artwork, country, stage range, collected/locked treatment, pagination, and a detail/download view for collected stamps. 2) SelfBook: portrait/polaroid memory pages showing Christina with the local character, destination name, and locked/unlocked state; use supplied portrait/selfie assets when available. 3) Comic Book: browse the 100 chapter stories one chapter at a time with the four-panel illustrated narrative, pagination, and previews even when not yet completed. Style these pages as physical books with paper textures, page headings, page counts, binder/album details, and editorial captions.

Profile/passport: Provide a traveler passport page showing the chosen name, Christina/profile portrait or unlocked character portrait, highest stage, completed destination count, best scores/total points, selectable unlocked avatars, and collectible decorative frames. Explain that progress, rankings, and collection unlocks are local to the device.

Shop: Include a clearly labeled preview-only traveler shop with cards for “Remove ads forever,” “Unlimited lives · 1 day,” “Unlimited lives · 1 week,” and “Change traveler name,” each with a price and “Preview offer” button. Selecting one opens a dialog explaining that no purchase or charge is connected in this browser prototype.

Leaderboard: Add an on-device leaderboard with tabs for Highest stage and Total points. Show rank, traveler name, and value; highlight the current player. Total points are the sum of each stage’s best score. Explain that rankings are stored locally and are not online.

Art direction: use cream parchment, subtle shadows, thin borders, dark teal headings, muted gold buttons/highlights, soft coral/green/purple frame colors, and understated motion. Use the supplied airport.webp, christina.webp, reference.webp, comic images, destination/background art, nature stamp/selfie/wallpaper assets, passport/book imagery, and around-the-world music where available. Keep large hero art atmospheric and lightly faded behind readable copy; destination and collection art should look like travel keepsakes. Maintain responsive scaling, modal dialogs, keyboard/touch support, alt text, and a calm cinematic transition/loading treatment such as “Preparing your journey…” when loading assets.
