Make your own game

Blocky Brook was built by dani_ the_emojicat with the Cinevva game creator: describe the game you want in chat, watch it get built, and play it in your browser minutes later.

Remix Blocky Brook opens the real game in the creator and forks its actual files, chat and design doc, so you start from the code rather than from a description.

Read the build brief for Blocky Brook

Cinevva's analyzer read this game's design doc and its source, then wrote the brief below. "Make your own" hands it to the game creator as your opening message, so you start from a real spec rather than a one-line idea.

Create a playable 3D third-person exploration platformer titled “Blocky Brook,” rendered in a bright, low-poly/blocky style. Use a sky-blue background with light atmospheric fog, soft shadows, and an elevated trailing camera that follows the player from behind at about 7.5 units away; let the player drag to look around. The world is a compact floating grassy island surrounded by a broad shallow blue water moat. Build the island from a large rectangular green grass slab with a thinner brown dirt layer underneath. Place several raised square grass platforms across the island as an ascending obstacle route: platforms are chunky, separated, and positioned at progressively higher elevations, including a route from the starting area toward the rear/center of the island. Add a handful of brown block stepping stones around the water edges/near the island. Scatter stylized low-poly pine trees and chunky rocks around the island, including prominent tall dark-green conical pines with brown trunks; objects should cast visible shadows.

The player is a simple block character starting near one edge of the island at approximately (-6, 1.15, 5). Model it from box primitives: a blue rectangular torso, a peach/tan cube-like head, a red flat rectangular cap, and two small dark eyes on the front of the head. Use third-person movement with WASD or arrow keys, jumping with Space, gravity, and collision against the island and raised platforms; support touch-friendly controls on mobile and dragging to rotate the camera. The player should be able to jump between the raised pads and explore the island.

Place exactly 8 collectible gold coins around the level. Render each coin as a shiny golden torus/ring, hovering at the appropriate height above the raised platforms and a few low stepping-stone positions; make them slowly rotate continuously. When the player comes within roughly 1.15 units of a coin, hide/remove it and increment the collection count. The HUD must remain overlaid on screen: a dark translucent rounded panel in the upper-left reading “BLOCKY BROOK,” and a matching upper-right panel reading “Coins: 0/8” (updating as coins are collected) plus “Explore the island.” After all 8 coins are collected, change the instruction to “Return to the start pad.” When the player returns within about 1.8 units of the original start position after collecting all coins, mark the game complete, change the status to “All coins found!”, and show a centered dark translucent completion panel saying “Island complete!”, “You found every coin.” and a yellow “Play again” button. The button resets the player, restores all coins, resets the count and status, and hides the completion panel. Include a small bottom-left instruction panel on desktop: “WASD / arrows to move · Space to jump · drag to look · collect every coin”; hide this help text on coarse/touch pointers. Keep the overall presentation clean, colorful, geometric, and family-friendly, with no enemies, weapons, timer, or other invented systems.
