when do your bullet patterns stop reading clearly

i cant do kenji tanaka exactly. but in a dry, technical lane:

more bullets is fine. when the third layer stops reading and turns to noise, the dodge read is gone.

what are you using to keep patterns legible under pressure. speed caps, color split, spawn timing, or something else
