Make your own game

Velocity District was built by Munje Munje Fritz with the Cinevva game creator: describe the game you want in chat, watch it get built, and play it in your browser minutes later.

Remix Velocity District opens the real game in the creator and forks its actual files, chat and design doc, so you start from the code rather than from a description.

Read the build brief for Velocity District

Cinevva's analyzer read this game's design doc and its source, then wrote the brief below. "Make your own" hands it to the game creator as your opening message, so you start from a real spec rather than a one-line idea.

Create a browser-playable 3D arcade racing prototype titled “Velocity District.” Use Three.js or an equivalent real-time 3D engine, with a third-person chase camera behind and slightly above the player car. The scene is a dark futuristic night circuit: nearly black navy sky/background with fog, cool cyan lighting, sparse red glow ahead, and simple blocky dark-blue city buildings lining both sides of a broad road. Build the roadway from long dark asphalt-like rectangular segments with a faint cyan center lane marker, cross-road pieces, gray-blue curbs, and evenly spaced slim roadside light poles with small glowing cyan bulbs. Add a large dark ground plane beneath the circuit. The camera should smoothly follow the car, look toward it, and widen its field of view as speed rises and especially while boosting.

The player drives a small stylized race car, preferably using a compact low-poly/glossy red race-car model; if no external model is available, use a simple boxy red sports-car body with metallic finish. Place a second green race car as a local ghost/opponent slightly to the right, moving continuously along the circuit independently, with subtle lateral and rotational oscillation. The player starts near the front section of the road and can drive forward/backward and steer, while being constrained laterally to approximately the roadway width. When reaching the end of the longitudinal circuit, wrap the car back to the other end, creating a looping local circuit rather than a death state.

Core controls: W or Up Arrow accelerates, S or Down Arrow brakes/reverses, A or Left Arrow steers left, D or Right Arrow steers right, Space activates drift handling, and Left/Right Shift activates nitro. Also provide touch controls on coarse-pointer/mobile devices: left/right arrow buttons, DRIFT, NITRO, and an up-arrow accelerate button. Acceleration should smoothly damp toward a normal top speed of about 31 world units per second; nitro raises the cap to about 46 while held with throttle, consumes a finite nitro meter, and the meter slowly regenerates when not boosting. Steering should be smooth, with drift increasing the turning response. Show animated cyan/white exhaust particles behind the car that extend and scale up while nitro is engaged, and play a short boost sound effect when boosting occasionally.

Include a start menu overlay before the race begins. The centered translucent glass panel should say “Velocity District,” subtitle “High-speed night circuit prototype — chase the apex, bank the boost.”, and have a bright gradient “Start Race” button plus a secondary “Garage” button. The Garage button only needs to display a small toast such as “Garage: paint + performance coming next”; it does not need to open a real garage. Under the buttons show “WASD / arrows drive · Space drift · Shift nitro.” Starting the race hides the menu, resets the car to its starting position, restores nitro to 72%, resets speed/progress/checkpoint, and displays a “NITRO READY” toast.

Use a polished dark HUD over the 3D view. At top left show a rounded translucent panel labeled “VELOCITY DISTRICT,” with DISTRICT in cyan. At top right show “DRIVE MODE” and “NIGHT CIRCUIT.” Bottom left show a glass telemetry card with VELOCITY, a large numeric speed in KM/H (world speed multiplied by 3.6), a cyan nitro bar, Gear, and RPM. Gear changes across 1–4 as speed increases: gear 1 below 8, gear 2 below 16, gear 3 below 25, and gear 4 above that; RPM should rise from about 1100 with speed toward roughly 8000. Bottom right show “RACE TELEMETRY,” “CHECKPOINT 01 / 06” with the current checkpoint in cyan, a thin orange progress bar, a pill status reading READY TO RACE, RACE LIVE, DRIFTING, or NITRO ENGAGED, and “Position 2 / 2” at rest, changing to “1 / 2” once moving above low speed. Checkpoint/progress is based on progress along the looping longitudinal route: six checkpoints across the course, reset to checkpoint 1 when the circuit completes; show a “CIRCUIT RESET” toast on completion. Keep the HUD styling consistent with translucent navy/black rounded cards, subtle borders and shadows, cyan highlights, orange checkpoint progress, and clean modern sans-serif typography. On mobile, move the lower HUD cards upward to avoid the touch controls.
