Make your own game

Trail Gallop was built by Leland Hochstetler with the Cinevva game creator: describe the game you want in chat, watch it get built, and play it in your browser minutes later.

Remix Trail Gallop opens the real game in the creator and forks its actual files, chat and design doc, so you start from the code rather than from a description.

Read the build brief for Trail Gallop

Cinevva's analyzer read this game's design doc and its source, then wrote the brief below. "Make your own" hands it to the game creator as your opening message, so you start from a real spec rather than a one-line idea.

Create a mobile-friendly third-person endless runner called “Trail Gallop.” Use a colorful low-poly 3D style rendered from behind and slightly above a horse and rider, with a forward-looking perspective down a wide brown dirt trail. The sky is bright pale blue with light fog/haze toward the horizon. Place green grass strips on both sides of the trail and rows of simple stylized forest trees: brown cylindrical trunks with rounded green spherical foliage, spaced along both edges. Use soft directional sunlight and visible cast shadows.

The player avatar is a simple 3D horse assembled from rounded/blocky shapes: a medium-brown body, neck, head and four legs with dark hooves, a dark mane and tail, and a light muzzle. A small rider sits on it, wearing a blue torso and blue limbs, with a light face and dark rounded helmet. The horse remains near the bottom-center of the view while the trail and scenery move forward; it should subtly bob and animate its neck, head and tail in a galloping motion. The player can move among exactly three lanes, positioned left, center, and right across the trail. Smoothly steer toward the selected lane and slightly tilt the horse while changing lanes.

Make the trail endless by recycling long ground segments and trees as they pass behind the horse. Spawn obstacles ahead in random lanes at increasing intervals/difficulty. Obstacles are only two types: horizontal brown logs lying across a lane, and faceted gray rocks. The player avoids them by switching lanes or jumping. A collision occurs when the obstacle is close in depth, in the player’s lane, and the horse is too low; collisions make the horse stumble, reduce speed, drain 22 stamina, and briefly provide collision immunity. If stamina reaches zero while speed is low after a stumble, end the run.

Spawn collectible gold/yellow faceted star-shaped objects floating above random lanes, with occasional pairs close together. They rotate and bob gently. Collect a star by being close in depth and lane and vertically aligned with it; increment the star counter and restore 8 stamina. Every eight collected stars, show a brief “Star streak — your horse feels faster.” message. The run automatically advances distance based on speed. Start at speed 12, allow normal speed to rise gradually with distance, and allow a held boost to raise speed toward a maximum of 26. Boost drains stamina at 26 per second; when not boosting, stamina regenerates at 16 per second. Stars slightly increase boosted target speed. The player should visibly and mechanically manage the stamina resource.

Add a dark translucent, rounded, glass-like mobile HUD over the 3D scene. Across the top show three panels labeled DISTANCE, STARS, and STAMINA, displaying distance in whole meters, collected stars, and stamina as a percentage. Show a centered rounded message pill beneath the HUD for contextual messages, initially “Ride the center trail and grab stars.” Add a pause button at the upper-right once the run starts. Along the bottom, provide large touch controls: left and right arrow buttons for lane changes, plus JUMP and BOOST buttons; BOOST must work while held. Support keyboard controls too: Left/Right arrows or A/D change lanes, Space/Up/W jumps, and holding either Shift key boosts. Support left/right/up swipe gestures for lane changes and jumping.

Include a full-screen start overlay with the title “Trail Gallop,” explanatory text about riding down the forest trail, dodging logs and rocks, grabbing stars, and maintaining speed, a short control list, and a prominent “Start Ride” button. Starting or restarting resets distance, stars, speed, stamina, lane, obstacles, collectibles, and scenery. Include a pause overlay titled “Paused,” with the text “Your rider is waiting on the trail.” and a “Resume” button. On failure show a “Ride Over” overlay with a summary such as “You made it [distance] m and collected [stars] stars.” and a “Ride Again” button. Hide the in-run controls when paused or after game over. Keep the presentation clean, cozy, bright, and arcade-like, with no rivals, coins, shops, customization, sound system, or other features beyond this described game.
