Recreate a browser-based educational strategy board game titled “Territory” with a polished dark navy/blue visual style. Use a single-page flow: a home screen with a large centered “Territory” title over a subtle glowing, rotated 8×8 grid background containing a few blue and red orb-like pieces, a short “How to play” card explaining that players place one piece per turn, surround opponent groups to capture them, and control the most territory when the board is full, plus a volume slider. Clicking the title goes to a “Before you play” Learning Objectives screen with five numbered objectives: analyze at least 10 different moves; plan 2–3 turns ahead at 5 decision points; compare 3 alternatives before choosing in 5 turns; adapt to at least 2 opponent strategy changes; and justify at least 5 key moves with logical reasoning linked to outcomes. Provide a level selection screen with five opponent strengths: Beginner, Basic, Intermediate, Advanced, and Expert, each with descriptions ranging from forgiving placement practice to precise captures, threats, and expansion. The core game is an 8×8, clickable, alternating-turn territory board inspired by simple Go. Show the board as a square grid of pale blue-gray rounded cells with a dark blue frame and small gaps. Player 1 uses glossy blue circular stones and the computer or Player 2 uses glossy red circular stones; give stones radial highlights and soft shadows. Empty cells that are currently enclosed by only one color should be visibly tinted light blue for player territory or light pink for red territory. Clicking an occupied cell is illegal. A move is also illegal if it leaves the newly placed group with no liberties, unless that move captures an adjacent opposing group. When a move removes an opponent group with no liberties, clear those stones and record the capture. There is no need to invent ko or pass controls. During play, show a responsive layout with the board on the left and a right HUD card. The header says “Territory,” explains the placement, capture, and enclosed-region rules, and includes Home and Restart buttons. The HUD shows live territory totals for 🔵 Player 1 and 🔴 Computer (or Player 2), with blue/red score styling and a horizontal comparison bar. Include a mode toggle that switches between computer mode and two-player mode. In computer mode, after the player moves, the computer waits briefly and chooses a legal red move. The five levels should affect the computer’s selection: Beginner chooses randomly among all scored legal moves, Basic among roughly the top five, Intermediate among roughly the top three, Advanced among roughly the top two, and Expert chooses the top-scored move. Score computer moves using captures, red-versus-blue territory, proximity to blue stones at higher stages, edge value and future legal-move potential at the advanced stage. The computer should log strategy changes as the game progresses: one shift toward blocking/captures and a second shift toward territory expansion. At recurring important decision points (the first two turns, every third player move, and capture moves), interrupt the move with a modal asking “Why are you making this move?” Offer selectable reasons: Expand territory, Block the opponent, Prepare a future capture, and Protect my position. Require a selection before continuing, and state how many legal alternatives were considered (at least three when possible). Track comparisons when at least three legal moves exist. For some decision points, also ask “What do you predict?” with choices about gaining territory/building a boundary, setting up or completing a capture, protecting a key group, or the computer gaining more; require a choice before playing the move. Track whether predictions match simple outcomes. Keep a move history describing coordinates such as A1 and captures, and use brief pleasant tones for moves and stronger tones for captures; save a user-adjustable volume setting. Advance the educational stage internally from Basic to Intermediate and Advanced as play continues, and end the game after up to 30 total moves or when no legal moves remain. In two-player mode alternate directly between Player 1 and Player 2 without computer AI, while using the same board and rules. On completion, show a modal with the final blue and red territory scores and a result headline such as “Territory secured” when blue leads. Present four 0–100 metrics—Strategic Thinking Score, Planning Score, Adaptability Score, and Reasoning Quality Score—along with objective checkmarks/partial status and feedback about planning, strategic choices, adapting to opponent shifts, and connecting justifications to board outcomes. Include a Play again button returning to the home screen. Keep the art direction calm and instructional: near-black navy radial-gradient background, translucent deep-blue cards with thin blue borders and rounded corners, white/light text, muted gray-blue explanatory text, gold uppercase eyebrow labels, bright electric blue and coral red accents, and responsive layouts that collapse the board/HUD into a mobile-friendly single column. Do not add unrelated units, timers, power-ups, animations, story characters, or mechanics beyond the described territory, capture, reasoning, level, and educational feedback systems.
