Make your own game

Stillwater was built by quinndeeley with the Cinevva game creator: describe the game you want in chat, watch it get built, and play it in your browser minutes later.

Remix Stillwater opens the real game in the creator and forks its actual files, chat and design doc, so you start from the code rather than from a description.

Cinevva's analyzer read this game's design doc and its source, then wrote the brief below. "Make your own" hands it to the game creator as your opening message, so you start from a real spec rather than a one-line idea.

Recreate “Stillwater” as a calm, low-poly third-person 3D fishing game in a browser. Show a bright, stylized outdoor lake scene viewed from a perspective camera following the player from behind and above (camera initially around 7,7,8, roughly 6.2 units from the player). Use a pale blue sky/background with matching atmospheric fog, a broad teal-blue water surface, and a muted green circular grassy shoreline visible around the lake. Light the scene with soft sky fill and warm directional sunlight; enable soft shadows.

The playable avatar is a very simple low-poly fisherman represented by an orange-brown capsule-shaped body standing on the end of a small wooden dock. Put a short yellow circular hat on top and a dark brown fishing rod angled upward/forward from the right side. The dock is made from five separate brown wooden planks laid end-to-end in the depth direction, with visible support posts at the sides; it projects into the water. Populate the surrounding shore with sparse low-poly nature props: stylized pine trees, bushes, and large rocks, using a Kenney-like faceted/cartoon aesthetic. The screenshot should feel quiet and uncluttered, with water occupying most of the view and the dock centered. Keep the geometry, colors, and materials simple and matte/rough, aside from slightly reflective/translucent water.

The player can stroll using WASD or arrow keys through third-person controls; also support the touch/mouse button for fishing. Use gravity/jump-capable third-person controls, but the core game does not need a jump-specific objective. The fishing interaction is a timed reaction loop: initially display “Ready to cast.” When the player presses Space or the large bottom-right button labeled “Cast line,” if no cast is active, begin a cast. Place a small red/orange bobber about 3.3 world units ahead of the player at water level, draw a pale thin fishing line from the rod tip to the bobber with a subtly raised midpoint, and show a pale blue expanding/shrinking ripple ring around the bobber. The bobber should gently bob vertically and the ripple should pulse.

While the line is out, change the status to “Line is out… listen for a bite.” Choose a random bite time between 1.5 and 4.3 seconds after casting. During a brief 0.25-second bite moment, show “BITE! Reel in now”; the successful reel window lasts through 1.25 seconds after the bite time. If the player presses Space or the button during that window, end the cast, increment the fish count, and show “Nice catch! A silver fish.” If they reel before the bite window or too late, end the cast and show “The fish got away — try again.” Hide the line, bobber, and ripple whenever the cast ends. A successful catch may briefly enlarge/pulse the bobber before it disappears. Maintain a score beginning at zero and incrementing only on successful timing; the HUD should read “Fish caught: N.”

Build the HUD as a fixed overlay. In the upper-left, use a dark translucent rounded panel with a subtle border/shadow and blur: title “Stillwater,” subtitle “A quiet little fishing spot,” the current status in light cyan, and the fish count. At the lower center, show a dark translucent pill reading “WASD / arrows to stroll · Space or button to cast” (hide this hint on narrow mobile screens). At the lower right, show a large rounded yellow/gold button reading “Cast line,” with dark bold text and a soft shadow; it should be touch-friendly and visibly depress slightly when pressed. On small screens, tighten the panel/button margins and hide the lower-center hint. Preserve the peaceful blue, teal, brown, green, and warm gold palette and the simple, polished low-poly presentation.
