Make your own game

SKYLINE was built by Thakornpol Kleawyothatis with the Cinevva game creator: describe the game you want in chat, watch it get built, and play it in your browser minutes later.

Remix SKYLINE opens the real game in the creator and forks its actual files, chat and design doc, so you start from the code rather than from a description.

Read the build brief for SKYLINE

Cinevva's analyzer read this game's design doc and its source, then wrote the brief below. "Make your own" hands it to the game creator as your opening message, so you start from a real spec rather than a one-line idea.

Create a 3D orthographic side-view platformer called SKYLINE. The game is set around Singapore construction sites and follows two playable characters who must work together: RAFIQ, a construction worker from Bangladesh, and WEI LING, a Secondary 3 student. The central rule is that neither character can finish a level alone, so the player can instantly switch between them while the inactive character waits at the place where they were left.

Use a clean low-poly, flat-shaded 3D aesthetic viewed from the side with an orthographic camera. Gameplay scenes have a pale blue sky background and fog, soft shadows, chunky geometric platforms, and a distant simplified city skyline. Use a warm social-issue visual palette: salmon pink, cream, brick red, construction yellow, cyan blue, steel gray, wood brown, and muted concrete. Characters are small blocky figures with distinct silhouettes: Rafiq is slightly taller and darker-skinned, wears an orange construction vest, dark trousers, and a yellow hard hat; Wei Ling is smaller, wears a red top and dark trousers, has dark hair with a ponytail and a school bag. Put a colored ring beneath the currently active character and floating name tags above both characters.

Core controls: Arrow Left/Right or A/D move; Space, Up, or W jumps; Wei Ling can double-jump; Shift swaps characters; E or Enter performs context actions; R restarts. Include on-screen mobile buttons for left, right, jump, USE, and SWAP. Rafiq can climb yellow scaffolding using Up/Down, carry and drop heavy wooden crates, is sure-footed on wet steel beams, survives long falls, and can operate construction switches. Rafiq cannot open offices, shops, doors, or school gates. Wei Ling runs faster, can double-jump, opens doors, talks to NPCs, and uses switches, but cannot climb scaffolding or carry crates; long falls hurt her more. Show these rules in a HOW TO PLAY screen.

Build platforming levels from left/bottom-origin rectangular geometry. Include concrete floors and ledges, steel beams, yellow climbable scaffolds, wooden crates and translucent crate-placement slots, doors and gates, switches, conveyors, crumbling platforms, moving platforms, fans/updraft zones, falling tools, cement/mud slow zones, water points, direct-sun zones, checkpoints, collectible gold coin discs, cyan rotating story tokens, and a gold flag goal. Use collision-aware physics with gravity, variable-height jumps, coyote time, one-way thin platforms, moving platforms that carry standing characters, conveyors that push the player, crumbling platforms that disappear temporarily after being stood on, fans that lift characters, and hazards that damage hearts. Rafiq's heat-stress meter drains while he stands in direct sun, recovers away from sun and rapidly at water points, and can eventually cause damage. Respawn a damaged or fallen character at the latest checkpoint with restored hearts and heat. Show hearts, coin count, elapsed time, heat-stress bar, current character name/role, level number, a bottom objective, contextual prompts, and toast messages.

Create five levels with distinct layouts and objectives, using the following exact themes and mechanics:
1. THE FIRST DAY — tutorial, objective: get Wei Ling up to the site office window. A low construction site has separated floor sections, small steel ledges, a tall scaffold, two crates that Rafiq must stack into slots, a locked office door, a foreman NPC, and a goal high on the office side that only Wei Ling can finish. The level teaches swapping, carrying crates, and opening a door.
2. THE DORMITORY — vertical monsoon-rain climb, objective: climb to the rooftop. Build multiple concrete corridor slabs connected by stair-like ledges and a Rafiq-only scaffold route, with wet steel beams that make Wei Ling slippery, crumbling ledges, a moving platform, gates, a Rafiq-operated switch, a caretaker NPC, crate stacking to reach a high ledge, and a story-token nook. Goal is on the rooftop and either character can finish.
3. THE DEADLINE — sunny auto-scrolling construction run, objective: both characters reach the hoarding at the end before the crane does. Make it a long horizontal course with separated ground sections, conveyors, elevated crumbling platforms, moving beams, fans, falling tools, cement, water points, checkpoints, and large sun zones that drain Rafiq's heat. Include a locked door, a gate requiring a high Rafiq switch, a crane/deadline feeling, and a final goal requiring both characters.
4. THE VOID DECK — sunny puzzle/rearrangement level, objective: Wei Ling must talk to three residents while Rafiq builds the shaded rest area. Make a broad construction/deck space with several raised corridors and vertical columns, a glass minimart/office zone that blocks Rafiq, scaffolding, three crates and three slots that Rafiq must fill, NPCs Mr Tan, Mrs Devi, and Ahmad, sequential gates opened through the conversations, a moving platform, cement, water, and direct sun. The final goal requires a completed rest-area condition and can be reached by either character.
5. THE OPEN HOUSE — vertical finale, objective: get BOTH characters onto the roof. Build six repeated tiers up a tall half-built tower: Wei Ling has alternating stair-like routes on the left, Rafiq has a tall scaffold route on the right, and each tier is linked by a narrow beam or conveyor bridge. Include alternating doors, crumbling ledges, moving platforms, fans, crates and a crate-slot puzzle, checkpoints, a high story token, and a final rooftop goal that explicitly requires both characters to arrive.

NPC conversations should only be initiated by Wei Ling with E; if Rafiq tries, show a message telling the player to swap. Doors are opened by Wei Ling near them, while some gates are opened by specified switches or NPC conversations. Rafiq should receive contextual feedback if he tries to open a door or if Wei Ling tries to lift a crate. Crates should follow Rafiq overhead while carried and be dropped in front of him; slots disappear visually when filled. Story tokens rotate and unlock a voice-note/journal item.

Add a title presentation before gameplay: a sunset 3D diorama with a gradient sky, sun disc, layered Singapore-like skyline silhouettes, a half-built tower wrapped in yellow scaffolding and netting, a crane with a gently swinging cable and wooden load, and both characters standing on a foreground steel beam. Animate idle bobbing, breathing, occasional Rafiq wave, crane-load swing, and subtle sky motion. Overlay the title SKYLINE in large pixel lettering and the tagline “Two people. One city. Neither can build it alone.” Include buttons for START, HOW TO PLAY, LEVEL SELECT, SOURCES, and SOUND ON/OFF. On starting, show a six-second typed intro line: “Every morning, two people arrive at the same building site. They have never spoken.”

Use menu panels and HUD styling that match the screenshot: cream cards with thick brick-red borders, rounded corners, dark red/brown text, yellow primary buttons, cyan alternate buttons, pixel-font headings, and soft drop shadows over a salmon-pink radial-gradient menu background. The opening explanatory panel should introduce both characters and state that Rafiq climbs scaffolding/carries crates and Wei Ling is fast, double-jumps, opens doors, and talks to people. Include level select showing progress stars for completion, coin collection, and hidden story tokens; a journal with unlocked voice notes, character dialogue/comic scenes, factual cards about migrant workers and dormitory standards, and a sources screen. Save progress, unlocked levels, stars, notes, best times, sound setting, and one-time tutorial hints locally. End the story with the message that the player could not build this alone, and neither can Singapore.
