Make your own game

Signal Reclaim was built by Alex Kew with the Cinevva game creator: describe the game you want in chat, watch it get built, and play it in your browser minutes later.

Remix Signal Reclaim opens the real game in the creator and forks its actual files, chat and design doc, so you start from the code rather than from a description.

Read the build brief for Signal Reclaim

Cinevva's analyzer read this game's design doc and its source, then wrote the brief below. "Make your own" hands it to the game creator as your opening message, so you start from a real spec rather than a one-line idea.

Create a playable 3D action-RPG slice titled “Signal Reclaim.” Set it in a compact surveillance-controlled urban district run by the fictional Grid Authority. Use a dark, cool blue/black cyberpunk visual style: a large flat district with a central north-south road and a cross street, dim blocky buildings around the edges, blue neon lane accents, fog, soft shadows, and cyan/red emissive interactive objects and enemies. Use a third-person elevated perspective camera that follows the player from behind and above, looking slightly ahead; keep the compact arena bounded roughly from x -24 to 24 and z -32 to 28, with buildings acting as solid obstacles.

The player is Iris, a small stylized futuristic operative represented by a glowing capsule-like humanoid body with a bright core. Start with the “District Ghost” cyan/white colorway, and support three purely cosmetic skins: District Ghost (cyan body/white trim), Signal Runner (red/gold), and Null Shade (purple/mint). The player begins near the south end of the district with 100 health and a 30-point shield. Show a prominent dark translucent HUD overlay with thin rounded blue-gray borders, including “Iris // District Ghost,” health and shield values with a cyan/green health bar, the current chapter and objective, a large story/broadcast panel, resource totals (Scrap, Credits, Skill Pts), and equipped Weapon, Armor, and Chip. Include a scrolling message log.

Core loop: move through the district, defeat close-range patrol drones, hack three glowing terminals in order, and open four glowing loot caches. The three story terminals advance the three-chapter slice: Chapter 1 “Dead Channel” / “Hack the blackout node”; Chapter 2 “Stolen Memory” / “Reach the archive relay”; Chapter 3 “People’s Frequency” / “Take the broadcast spire.” After all three terminals are completed, enter Chapter 4 with objective “Secure the liberated block” and story text explaining that the pirate signal is live; this is the end of the playable slice. Terminal locations should be spread through the district, approximately at (-10, 6), (12, -10), and (0, -24). Each terminal is a dark metal pedestal with a bright cyan rectangular screen that turns green after being breached. Interacting with terminals displays their story text, awards score/reputation, and advances the chapter when appropriate.

Place four caches at approximately (-4, 2), (15, 8), (-14, -16), and (6, -25). They should look like small dark brown metal crates with a bright yellow-gold glowing strip. Interacting with an unopened cache hides it and grants credits, scrap, one skill point, and sometimes new equipment: early cache gives Pulse Knife, another gives Signal Weave armor, another gives Surge Loop chip, and the final cache gives Archive Coat armor and Rail Spiker weapon. Scrap Sense skill ranks add extra scrap per cache. Defeated drones also award credits and scrap.

Populate the area with six hovering patrol drones: spherical glowing red/pink cores with three metallic cross-like arms, floating around y 1.5 and gently bobbing/rotating. Use mostly tier-1 drones and stronger tier-2/tier-3 drones farther toward the later objectives. Drones patrol when distant, pursue the player within roughly 8 world units, and damage the player when they close to about 2.2 units; use brief expanding red/cyan ring effects for hits. The player can only attack at close range, within about 2.8 units of a drone. Pressing Strike deals weapon damage, creates a cyan expanding ring effect, awards score, and disables a drone when its health reaches zero. Drones have increasing health by tier and stronger contact damage. When the player’s shield absorbs damage, deplete shield first, then health; add brief invulnerability after being hit. On zero health, stop normal movement, show “Operative down,” and change the objective to “Refresh to restart the district.”

Implement this equipment and progression system. Start equipped with Shock Baton (8 damage), Street Jacket (0 bonus shield), and Ghost Patch. Add selectable weapons: Shock Baton, Pulse Knife (12 damage), and Rail Spiker (18 damage). Add armor: Street Jacket (+0 shield), Signal Weave (+15 shield), and Archive Coat (+25 shield). Add chips: Ghost Patch (reduced patrol lock-on flavor), Surge Loop (real effect: strike cooldown is multiplied by 0.6), and Mnemonic Fork (story-intel flavor). The side panel should allow equipping unlocked gear and display descriptions and current calculated damage/shield. Add three upgradable skills, each max rank 3: Sprint Thread (+10% movement speed per rank), Pulse Arc (+6 strike damage per rank), and Scrap Sense (+1 scrap from each cache per rank). Spend skill points from the starting point, caches, and story milestones.

Controls must work on desktop and mobile. Desktop: WASD or arrow keys move; Space strikes; E interacts with a nearby terminal or unopened cache; I or Tab opens/closes the side panel; Q cycles skins. Mobile: provide a large circular left virtual joystick and visible action buttons labeled Strike, Interact, Panel, Quest Log, and Swap Skin. The Quest Log opens a codex/side-panel view listing the three chapters and their objectives/story descriptions. The Panel should have tabs for Loadout, Skills, Skins, and Quest Log/Codex. Keep the interface legible with large white text, cyan accent headings, rounded translucent panels, and buttons matching the dark futuristic HUD shown. Include useful interaction feedback in the message log such as “Strike drones at close range,” “Interact with glowing terminals and caches,” cache rewards, equipment changes, chapter advances, and drone hits.
