Make your own game

Remix of Diamond Toss VR was built by Jonah Hollis with the Cinevva game creator: describe the game you want in chat, watch it get built, and play it in your browser minutes later.

Remix Remix of Diamond Toss VR opens the real game in the creator and forks its actual files, chat and design doc, so you start from the code rather than from a description.

Read the build brief for Remix of Diamond Toss VR

Cinevva's analyzer read this game's design doc and its source, then wrote the brief below. "Make your own" hands it to the game creator as your opening message, so you start from a real spec rather than a one-line idea.

Create a browser-based Three.js/WebXR baseball throwing sandbox titled “Diamond Toss VR.” Begin with a dark translucent centered menu over a green-tinted ballpark backdrop, with the title “Diamond Toss VR,” the instruction “Choose how you want to play,” and two prominent buttons: “Play PC” and “Set Up VR.” Once a mode is selected, show a full-screen first-person 3D baseball stadium with a bright blue sky, light fog, late-afternoon lighting and shadows, and a large model-like ballpark. The ground is striped green grass over a broad outfield, with a tan dirt infield and a long central dirt lane from pitcher’s mound to home plate. Include white foul lines, a center mound-to-home guide line, visible first base, second base far upfield, and third base. Build a deep curved green outfield wall with yellow top rails and occasional dark advertising panels labeled “DT BASEBALL” or “FIELD PARK.” Beyond it, add a center-field scoreboard reading “DT DIAMOND TOSS,” two tall stadium light towers with rectangular light panels, green covered grandstands on both sides, and rows of small stylized trees around the perimeter. Use simple low-poly/stylized geometry with realistic standard-material lighting, like a miniature stadium model. Load a red baseball and fence/bat assets when available, with simple geometric fallbacks.

PC mode loads the larger prebuilt field automatically. Place the player near the pitcher’s mound in first-person view at roughly eye height, with a visible lower uniform body when pitching: white jersey and pants, red sleeve, black belt and cleats, glove on one side, and a throwing arm held off to the side holding a baseball. Allow walking with WASD or arrow keys, constrained to the field, and aiming by dragging the mouse or using a Look/pointer-lock button. Left click or Space throws from near the mound toward the center of the camera view; require the player to be within roughly mound range or display a message telling them to walk closer. The ball launches with physics, gravity, spin, and pitch-specific movement, bounces on the ground, then comes to rest. R resets it to the mound. Provide a PC pitching/batting role toggle, also switchable with B. In pitching role, show a pitch-selection panel with buttons for Fastball, Curveball, Slider, Sinker, Cutter, Splitter, Forkball, Sweeper, Knuckle-Curve, Screwball, Slurve, Changeup, Circle Change, Eephus, and Knuckleball; number keys 1–9 and 0 select the first ten pitches, and each selection displays a short description. Implement the actual pitch differences: fastball is fastest and mostly straight; curveball breaks left and drops; slider and sweeper break sideways; sinker, splitter, forkball and knuckle-curve drop; cutter cuts late; screwball reverses the break; slurve combines sideways break and drop; changeups are slower with fade; Eephus is a very slow high arc; knuckleball has fluttering wobble.

In PC batting role, move the camera to home plate facing the mound, show a simple first-person red/wood bat at the side, and display a stylized AI pitcher on the mound wearing a white uniform with red cap/sleeve and dark cleats. The AI pitcher periodically winds up, releases the currently selected pitch harder toward a chest-height strike zone, and the player swings using left click, Space, or an on-screen SWING button. A swing is successful when the ball is in the strike zone near home plate; animate the bat, play a contact message, add hit points, and launch the ball out into the field with a stronger upward hit trajectory. Misses produce a strike-or-ball message and another pitch after a delay. Keep the same pitch buttons available in batting mode.

VR mode starts in a field-building phase instead of using the prebuilt mound/plate/fences. Enable WebXR and show an Enter VR control. In VR, use either controller trigger to aim a ray at the ground and place, in order: the pitcher’s mound, home plate, the batter’s box, then fence posts. Clamp placement to the playable grass/field bounds. Require at least four fence posts before marking the field ready, and show status messages such as “Mound placed,” “Home plate placed,” “Batter’s box placed,” and a fence-post count. Once ready, use controller grip/squeeze near the ball to pick it up; keep the ball attached to the controller while held. On grip release, use controller motion velocity at release to determine throw speed and direction, add the selected pitch’s special break, gravity, spin and bounce, and let the ball land. Slow releases should drop the ball rather than count as a throw. VR uses pitching only, not the PC AI batting role.

Keep an always-visible in-game HUD/top bar with PC/VR mode toggle buttons, and in PC include Pitch/Bat role buttons plus the Look control. Show a status message describing the current action. Show statistics including the current mode, Pitching or Batting role, selected pitch, Throws, Hits, Score, and Best distance. Each landed throw adds score based on distance and updates the longest/best distance; batting contact adds hit points and the landing distance adds more score. Play a throw sound when releasing/throwing and a click sound for UI interactions and swings. Preserve the ability to switch between PC and VR from the in-game controls, resetting/rebuilding the appropriate map and camera. Make the experience playable with mouse/keyboard, touch-style movement/look controls and WebXR controllers, using a clean compact HUD over the stylized ballpark.
