Make your own game

Paint Patrol was built by Wyatt Geary with the Cinevva game creator: describe the game you want in chat, watch it get built, and play it in your browser minutes later.

Remix Paint Patrol opens the real game in the creator and forks its actual files, chat and design doc, so you start from the code rather than from a description.

Read the build brief for Paint Patrol

Cinevva's analyzer read this game's design doc and its source, then wrote the brief below. "Make your own" hands it to the game creator as your opening message, so you start from a real spec rather than a one-line idea.

Recreate “Paint Patrol” as a kid-friendly, playable Three.js-style 3D free-roaming foam-paint tagging game. Build a bright open park viewed in first person while walking: a large green grass plane bounded around 43 units from the origin, under a clear cyan-blue sky with matching distance fog, soft hemisphere lighting, warm directional sunlight, and soft shadows. Add a gray paved cross-shaped road through the park: one east-west road about 74 by 9 units and one north-south road about 9 by 74, each with repeating pale yellow center stripes. Scatter stylized low-poly Kenney-like trees and detailed rounded bushes around the grass, with no realistic or frightening elements.

The player starts on foot at approximately (0, 0, 8), carrying a colorful toy foam blaster. Use a first-person perspective with a 68-degree field of view, eye height around 1.58, and a visible blaster at the lower-right of the screen: a chunky coral/red body with a yellow nozzle. The player can freely look around horizontally and vertically (clamp vertical look to roughly +/-1.15 radians), and movement is camera-relative. Walking speed is about 7.3 units/second; constrain the player to the park bounds. Show a blocky, colorful character model in the world when appropriate, but hide the player avatar while in first-person and while driving.

Core action: press Space or a mobile Fire button to shoot a small glowing yellow foam paint ball in the camera’s look direction. Fire no faster than once every 0.28 seconds, play a soft arcade laser sound, and let each projectile travel for about 1.25 seconds at roughly 20 units/second. Paint balls can hit practice targets or friendly walking NPCs. On a hit, create a small flat cartoon red paint splat on the ground that fades over about 8 seconds, increment the score by one, and show a friendly temporary message. There is no blood, death, damage, scary enemy, or civilian harm; describe the effect as harmless foam tagging. Practice targets are eight stationary soft white capsule-shaped dummies on small red circular bases, each with a red bullseye ring, placed around the park. They rotate gently, squash/bounce briefly when tagged, and have a short hit cooldown.

Add four friendly blocky NPCs named Mia, Bo, Kai, and Zoe. Give each a distinct bright shirt color (pink, cyan, yellow, or purple), a floating rounded cream name label, and simple idle, walk, and wave animations. They continuously follow small rectangular waypoint routes in different park areas at about 2.2–2.65 units/second. When the player or car comes within about 4 units, an NPC turns toward them and waves, showing a friendly message such as “Nice driving! Tag the practice dummies, not people.” If hit by foam, the NPC briefly squashes/bounces, waves, gets a red cartoon paint splat, says “Foam tag! I’m okay — cartoon paint only.”, awards one point, and continues walking.

Place three driveable stylized Kenney cars around the roads: a red sports sedan near (-9,5), a blue sports hatchback near (13,-6), and a yellow taxi near (-14,-14). The player can press E or the mobile Car button when within about 3.2 units of a car to enter it. While driving, switch to a third-person chase camera about 11.5 units behind and 6.1 units above the car, looking toward it; hide the first-person blaster. WASD/arrow input controls the car: forward/back acceleration, friction/coasting, speed capped around 15 forward and 8 reverse, and steering that turns more quickly at higher speed. Keep cars within the same park bounds. Press E/Car again to exit beside the car, stop it, return to first-person walking, and show a cheerful status message. Cars may also fire foam paint from their forward direction when Space/Fire is pressed, at about 24 units/second. There are no crash penalties or collisions required.

HUD should be a friendly overlay that does not block the game: upper-left translucent dark teal rounded panel with large “Paint tags: 0” score and a smaller mode/control line. Desktop text should explain “WASD/arrows move • mouse to look • E enters cars • Space fires foam paint”; driving text should say the player is driving and E exits. On coarse/touch devices, show two translucent circular joysticks along the bottom corners: a left yellow-centered stick for movement and a right cyan-centered stick for turning/look, plus round Fire and Car buttons on the right. Include a Reset pill button in the upper-right. Center temporary cream rounded message cards near the top, with dark teal text, for tutorial and tag reactions. Use a playful rounded display font, bright pastel colors, smooth shadows, and an upbeat safe arcade presentation. The game should launch with a message explaining first-person foam tag and that targets/NPCs react with cartoon paint only.
