Make your own game

Moonstone Crown was built by Jessica Lais with the Cinevva game creator: describe the game you want in chat, watch it get built, and play it in your browser minutes later.

Remix Moonstone Crown opens the real game in the creator and forks its actual files, chat and design doc, so you start from the code rather than from a description.

Read the build brief for Moonstone Crown

Cinevva's analyzer read this game's design doc and its source, then wrote the brief below. "Make your own" hands it to the game creator as your opening message, so you start from a real spec rather than a one-line idea.

Create a playable browser-based third-person 3D action-collection game titled “Moonstone Crown.” The player controls a small black cat in a low-poly moonlit forest, viewed from a behind-the-character camera at an elevated angle. Use a dark navy sky/background with fog, a large circular grassy forest floor, a ring of stylized trees around the perimeter, scattered low-poly rocks, and blue/purple nighttime lighting. Include a large bright moon high in the sky. Use low-poly Quaternius-style assets where available for the cat, witch, trees, rocks, dead trees, and crystals; provide simple geometric placeholders if assets fail to load. The cat should have glowing blue eyes and, after crafting, a small glowing gold star crown above its head.

Core objective and progression: begin with 0/5 moonstones and 5 health. Place exactly five floating, rotating, bobbing pale-blue glowing crystal moonstones around the forest at varied locations. When the cat gets close to one, automatically collect it, hide it, increment the counter, play a pickup chime, and show a brief message. The initial objective is “Find the moonstones hidden across the forest.” After all five are collected, change the objective to returning to the glowing altar to craft the crown. Put the altar near the center/back of the forest: an octagonal stone pedestal with a luminous rotating ring, a floating golden star, blue point light, and pulsing glow. When all five stones are collected and the cat is within about 3.2 world units, show an enabled “Craft Crown” button; pressing E or the mobile button crafts the crown, unlocks combat, increases health by up to two (not above the maximum), and changes the objective to defeating the Witch Queen. The crown remains visibly equipped and glows.

Place the Witch Queen in a cursed clearing toward the far left/back of the map, around (-22, 0, -22), marked by a purple/blue ground glow and purple point light with dead trees nearby. The witch is a robed purple character with a pale head. She starts with 6 health. Before the crown is crafted she does not chase or attack. Once combat is unlocked and the player is within 24 units, she slowly chases the cat but stops around 4.2 units away, faces the player, and launches a glowing purple dark-magic orb approximately every 1.8 seconds. Orbs travel toward the player, expire after several seconds, and deal 1 damage on contact. Health reaching zero ends the game with a “The witch wins” overlay, explanatory text, and a “Play Again” restart button.

After crafting, enable Star Burst. On desktop press F; on mobile show an on-screen “Star Burst” button. Each attack has roughly a 0.55-second cooldown and fires a small bright gold/yellow glowing projectile in the camera-facing horizontal direction. Projectiles travel quickly, expire after about two seconds, and deal 1 damage to the Witch Queen when they come within roughly 1.7 units of her. Display a centered Witch Queen boss health bar, initially 6 segments-worth/100%, only after the crown is crafted; reduce it with each hit. When health reaches zero, stop combat, show a victory message and overlay titled “Forest Saved,” with text explaining that all moonstones were found, the crown forged, and the Witch Queen defeated, plus the restart button. Update the objective to say the Witch Queen has fallen and the forest is safe.

Controls: integrate third-person controls with WASD and arrow keys for movement, Space to jump, and a built-in touch joystick for mobile. Keep the player inside a roughly 33-unit circular forest boundary. The camera follows from behind at about 7.2 units distance. Rotate the cat smoothly toward its movement direction and play idle/walk animations when animated assets are available. The Witch should idle, run/chase, and use a defeat animation if available. Include looping quiet forest music, a pickup chime, and a dark magic/blast sound, starting audio after user interaction.

HUD and presentation: use a responsive full-screen canvas and a dark translucent glass-like interface. At upper left show the teal uppercase eyebrow “MOONLIT HUNT,” title “Moonstone Crown,” the current objective, and two stat cards labeled Moonstones (0 / 5 through 5 / 5) and Health (starting at 5). Show temporary centered rounded message pills for collection, crafting, hits, damage, and victory. At upper center show the hidden-until-combat Witch Queen health bar with a purple-to-pink fill. At lower left show the hint: “Move with WASD or the joystick. Find all 5 moonstones, craft the star crown at the glowing altar, then use Star Burst to defeat the Witch Queen.” At lower right show context-sensitive Craft Crown and Star Burst buttons; hide them when unavailable. Use rounded panels, muted lavender text, cyan/gold accents, and a dark radial overlay for end-game screens. Ensure the game is playable on desktop and mobile and provide a Play Again button that reloads/restarts the game.
